  1. Golfing today? Why YES, yes I am!! My course opened this week; first time this year! 46* and sunny.
  2. It would be a good "driving iron" depending on the shaft you put in it. FYI, the hosel is tapered .355
  3. Great history read! Thanks for putting it in one place. You will absolutely love the VIP 1025 V-foils. I play the 1025M. They are very forgiving for a muscleback. I thought about getting the 1025C in the mid- and long irons, but the 1025M is so easy to hit, I didn't think it was necessary. I reshafted them last year from the DG S300 to the UST Proforce 95 graphite, and that made them playable for me again. I just got too old to play steels anymore. I also have a set of MacGregor M685 cavity back, newer clubs than the 1025M that Greg Norman played. I was going to reshaft them, but I did a test between the two and the 1025M was much better for me. Good luck with them and enjoy!!!
  4. While in Phoenix a couple of weeks ago, I tried several EVNROLL and Edel putters at the PGA Superstore. I can tell within a couple of strokes if a putter will work for me. Neither felt right for my stroke. Several Ping Sigma G putters felt better, and I have never been a Ping putter person. But I may own one soon.
  5. Lunch at McMenamins in Corvallis OR; Terminator Stout and El Diablo Chicken Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries... Yum Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  6. I firmly believe that we all need to have a coaches point of view periodically. They can see things for what they are, while we think we are doing it perfectly. haha
  7. I resemble those shots! Still a very nice score.
  8. 52* today and sunny; my course opens tomorrow!! Woo Hoo! Lots of people out on the driving range today. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  9. I have the Pure Grips gun too. When I first bought the Pure grips, the online shop (can't remember which one) included it for free with 13 grips ordered. So handy.

    is Tiger Done?

So you are saying he f... up and should have had 19?
  11. If you leave the shaft bare, at least put a piece of painter's tape on the end of the shaft and fold it into the shaft end. The shaft is usually pretty sharp and can catch on the inside of the grip.
  12. What changed to make it work... other than your name?
  13. You don't need solvent. The solvent can be used to help remove grips that were put on with grip tape and solvent, but unnecessary when putting on grips with air. But it's faster to just cut them off. Most all grips can be put on with air. I have found that the Winn grips with the hard rubber collar are very difficult, but can be done with a little solvent. I use grip solvent from Golfworks because I still have some left over from when I used grip tape. Some people have used lighter fluid, and I know one person that has used gasoline. I DO NOT recommend that!! FYI, if you haven't watched the video on the Pure website yet, I recommend that you do. There are some tips/techniques that help getting the grips on. After you do it a few times, easy peasy; lemon squeezy.
  14. On your iPhone if you go to Settings, Privacy, Photos... does it show the MyGolfSpy app selected? Mine is on. Don't know if that's the problem but mine works.
  15. According to Pure, it doesn't matter. I need wraps and the grip seals just fine.
  16. Supposed to be mid-40's today but still snow on the ground in spots. Rain tomorrow, but 40's and 50's for the next week. If the course can dry out, maybe we can play by next weekend. There have only been 4 golfing days here since Thanksgiving this year. Every year since I started playing golf until this year, we could play all winter long. In the last 50 years I have never seen snow on the ground here for so long. This is EPIC!
  17. Same here. Blue painter's tape is great for buildup and the grips blow on and off easily.
  18. I just attached this photo using the MGS app on my iPhone on ATT. No problem. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. I have found it difficult to save grips put on using tape. It can be done but it takes patience. Grips put on with the 3/4" tape and wound onto the shaft are easier to blow off than ones put on with the conventional 2 inch tape. If you put grip solvent in the hole on the end of the grip and apply air pressure slowly, the solvent will work it's way around the tape. It takes time so I just cut them off.
  20. Are you wanting to shorten it because you tried the same club in a shorter shaft? Did you grip down 2 inches and like the feel? Or are you just wanting to experiment? I would first make a call to TaylorMade and ask them what would be the best option. If you are going to have someone shorten it for you, I would consider sending it back to TaylorMade and have them do to your specs.
  21. I played them in Phoenix the last two weeks, and if they come back I will keep playing them, especially if they are $15/dozen. I would really like to see them regularly in the Costco stores rather than online.
  22. So tomorrow, just do that again!
  23. Is everyone prepared for Halloween... er, sorry, I mean, Valentine's Day? It's the same thing; you dress up and get candy. A manufactured day by businesses to get guys to spend lots of money on candy, flowers, and restaurants. That's 2-3 rounds of golf!!! If you treat your loved one special each day of the year, it's appreciated more than on this one day. Rant over.
