Being pretty much self-taught myself (at least until after I became a scratch player many years ago), I can really appreciate how Mr. Hogan "dug it out of the dirt". My first set of premium irons was a set of Hogan Apex, 2-W, Apex 4 shaft, purchased in 1973 or 1974.
