  1. I actually just went through a very similar headache with my Leupold rangefinder where the display stopped working. Replaced it with a precision pro as well precisely because of their customer service. I'm having a harder time picking up the flag (seem to be getting the trees behind the green a disproportionate amount of the time), but for the price point I think it'll stick with it...
  2. I came here for the high quality reviews, and have stayed because mgs truly is the one place where I can read a review that I can trust 100%. Perhaps even more than the blog side of the site, MGS is a mainstay on my screen because of the great people who are members on this forum. Both because they are so knowledgeable and intelligent, but also because we've created a special and friendly community here that creates truly vibrant discussions. That community is something that I'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere...
  3. Please tell me that the course is at a high elevation...? That would be one tough beast, but i guess it fits with the skull and crossbones...
  4. So in contrast to Ricks great round above, let me share my experience from yesterday... I was playing my best golf of the early season (even through 6) and ended up with, wait for it... a 50. You know how tin cup hit had a tendency to go ob when it counts? well I think I unintentionally broke his record... What is this game?
  5. Well Played! I find that playing courses that you called home a while back is incredibly enjoyable because the memories flood back, and hopefully you play better (as you did!)
  6. So today I played a quick 9, and while I didn't play shabby for aerated greens (5 over) my playing partner put me to shame. He had an eagle, lipped out another eagle put from under 10 feet, and threw in 2 other birdies. It was impressive to watch to say the least.
  7. Well this is amazing! I am passed psyched! It's hard to type right now, but believe me when I say that I will test and review these clubs to the fullest extent. I hope I live up to expectations. And, as a teaser... I hit a stock version of the 3 wood yesterday, and from what little I could tell from the few shots these clubs are legit. I look forward to fully testing them! Thank you mgs and tm for this amazing opportunity. ~Jay
  8. +10 (brings the total to +30 I think...) and it works... Just look at the views on this thread (pushing 4,000) and pushing 40,000 on the bladez reviews. It's great for the site, and i'm sure TM gets more than their money's worth out of the equipment given.
  9. Handicap 8 I currently carry a Taylormade Burner TP 3 wood w/ a Accra dymatch shaft and a Burner hybrid with matching shaft (as per my signature) And after reading through the rocetbladez reviews, which were epic I might add, I could only hope to write up an epic'ier review, and to one up that, because Homer is famous for writing epics, well... My Review would be: (If the timing is right I take a trip to myrtle in 2 weeks and after that I'll be back to my schedule of playing 2 times per week minimum with a range trip and indoor work at golftec (not quite simulators but basic number comparisons to past models are possible))
  10. ^ again your work is always clean and amazing. I love the suto flag in the cricle! ~Jay
  11. James, The past couple days I've been playing a short course, and have ended up with a ton of ~75 or 50 yard shots into the green. The course is also at altitude, so it's throwing off my distances (ex. a full 56 degree wedge shot flies 110). Could you share your thought process for these short shots?
  12. I tested one a few months ago, and it's absolutely brilliant! - by far my favorite innovation and product this year.
  13. Really the only time that this has happened to me this season occurred a couple of months ago down in florida. As a foursome we were walking on a cart course, and let a threesome who were playing incredibly fast (with carts) play through. They were blasting music, but turned it off to hit. The hole is a severe (almost 90 degree) dog leg right and without any practice swings the first two guys step up and bomb it straight down the middle probably ~290. The third guy (a lefty) steps up and wraps this running draw around the corner which catches the ridge that runs through the middle of the fairway, and ends up 70 yards from the hole on a 417 yard par 4. Back in the cart they go, turn the music on, and zoom off to play their next shots. We had already hit our tee shots, and they were playing so quickly that by the time we reached the corner of the whole, the first two guys had already hit (one in the bunker, the other in the middle of the green). The third guy steps up and hits this beautiful half wedge that hits the flag on the fly and drops too two feet. This was one of the hardest holes on the course, and he had basically made a mockery of it. Back on goes the music, and off they go. What I'm trying to say, is that if you can play, you can play music and not get flac from me. These guys blew my mind (and the course was pretty much empty as well, so no one else could have taken offense). On the other hand, if you've never picked up a club and are out on a busy course blasting music, I'll get annoyed very quickly. There's a time and a place, and that is the true distinguising factor that must be analyzed when considering this situation imo.
  14. Would anyone on mgs be interested in joining a yahoo fantasy baseball league? just putting out the feelers, as the season starts in roughly a month...
