  1. Played Saturday first round of a 2 round gross event at my club. Played pretty well the whole day except for a rather large brain fade of the 10th which left me with a quad on a hole I usually play very well. Finished the round with a 6 over round with a tie for the lead. Went out again Today, Sunday, for 9 holes in the lazy afternoon sun. Had just bought myself some ecco golf streets and wanted to try them out and didn't really have much else to do. Went around with my headphones on and managed a very solid 2 under around the front 9 with 8/9 fairways hit, 8/9 greens hit with 15 putts. Very happy with the result and gives me a much needed boost in confidence going into the second round.
  2. Cheers, fitting is tonight so I'm very excited to see what we come up with. I should also add that it was my first game back after a two week hiatus and I have always had issues with my puttig. I wasn't expecting to play the best compared to how well I was playing in previous weeks but wasn't ready for anything like I went through. Will put in an update when I can about my fitting experience once its all said and done
  3. Well SeeRed, I joined your ranks this last Saturday. I had a horrendous 21 point stableford round with a total of 43 putts. Lets just say I was getting very close to snapping my putter by the end of the round, but it also didnt help that I had trouble just stitching two shots together. Finally booked in with a Ping rep to get a full fit out for a putter through my teaching pro so hopefully that will help. I have struggled to strike or roll my scotty consistantly for so long I can't even remember the last time it felt good. I'm hoping with a new karstan anser 2 or something possibly even better suited to me will help me gain my confidence in my stroke back.
  4. Yea the shaft looks awesome, not sure about the woods but I know I'm going Project X steel shafts in my next set of irons
  5. After a two week break from being sick I played on Saturday and shot a two over 69 that included two doubles and 2 bogeys. Managed to putt really well and came home strong with 4 birdies on the back with plenty of missed oppertunities on the front and a few still left out there on the back. Also did'nt help that one of those doubles was caused by someone playing my ball after a loose drives into the trees :S Back down to 4.6 and hopefully still dropping
  6. Played on Saturday and salvaged what I thought was going to be a throw away round. Couple of 3 putts and a 4 putt on the front 9 really did my head in, and it wasnt until I had a look at my whole score at the end of the round that I realised I only shot 6 over the card. Not bad for 37 putts for the round :S
  7. He kinda of reminds me of an 80's throw back version of Charlie Sheen
  8. Unlucky with your loss mate. I won't be playing this weekend as I'll be heading up to Mt Buller this weekend with my girlfriend for the seasons first snowboarding trip, can't wait!
  9. Played on Saturday, and I'm just about ready to break my putter. Lost on a count back to win the comp for the day, hit 12 greens in reg, 50% of the fairways, and 38 damn putts. If had of had an average putting day for my hadicap I would have shot under par
  10. Didn't play that great today, felt like I was striking the ball well but short game went to hell. 12 greens in reg, 2.1 putts per green in reg and 2.1 putts per hole
  11. Had another solid round on Saturday and shot a 4 over 71 to miss winning the comp of the day by 1 stroke. went round with 30 putts which is pretty good for me, but my greens in reg cost me a little and only got 9 for the day. Driving the ball pretty solid but my short approach shots hurt me a few times.
  12. Shot a 3 over 70 on Saturday which I was very happy with. Still having trouble with my putting which cost me a good couple of shots around the front 9, but finished strong with a nice hole out from a greenside bunker on the 18th for birdie Just missed out on getting a part of the VGL medal or trophy that was up for grabs in the comp, but I did walk away with another major win for the year after being told I won the Captains Trophy. the Captains trophy is a two week event where both games are stroke and the best nett score over the two weeks wins. I think I'm glad I didn't know about it during the day because I have a feeling I would have blown up my round trying to go low to win it.
  13. When the course is only a Par 67 its not that great
  14. Played last Saturday and actually had a good day out which was nice. Shot a 35/37 72 at my par 67 home course. Had a good ball striking day but my driver fell off towards the end of the day and got me into a little bit of trouble but still managed to get 14 GIR. Putting is still not real great hence my search for a new one as I still had 35 putts for the round. I wish I was able to put like some of you when I hear a good day with the putter is somewhere in the mid to high 20's :S Also spent pretty much the whole of last night at a massive demo day with a nike rep friend of mine. Tried a few irons I'm looking at getting, and tried all the drivers there. Out of the bertha alpha, sldr 460, nike covert 2 tour version, JPX EZ and the i25. The consensus between the Ping, Mizuno and my Nike rep friend was that it was between the bertha alpha and the covert 2 tour, with their preference slightly towards the alpha. Will be interesting to see what happens when I eventually get fit and run them all through a track man
  15. Played yesterday to help out the pennant team avoid relegation. Managed to hit the ball a lot better than I expected to as I have been working on getting my hands forward of the ball through impact. Couldn't sink a putt to save myself though which was a little dissapointing but still was able to get a win for the team 3 up with 2 to play. The team as a whole played well also winning for the day 5 games to 2 to avoid relegation. Even better was that due to the result of the other game played that day we have snuck into the finals
  16. I'm with you Rev, played Saturday and was doing well for the most part and fell to pieces at the end. Then followed on with a discracful performance in pennant matchplay on Sunday
  17. Club fitting booked for Monday. Will be nice to know what my real specs are and what i need to upgrade

Awesome! I hope they are as easy to implement as they were to learn. Mine will be with my teaching pro who is a qualified fitter with Titliest, best thing is he already know my swing so can build for it :)

  18. Mangaed to win the 4BBB clubbies, but have so far lost the first two pennant rounds this season. Need to pick up some wins for any hope of getting back to Div 1

  19. Last Saturday played one of my best rounds ever, with a family friend managed to reach +14 in the first round of the 4BBB Par Club championships, need to hunker down for round two and can hopefully walk away with a club major :)

  20. Thats why I carry at least two different markers with me when I play. I like a big obvious one for those longer putts so people know where you are (assuming your not in anyones line) and then I have a smaller flatter much more discrete one for around the hole or if im on someones line
  21. Got mine today, thank you so much, its epic and cant wait to use it
  22. Hopefully that doesn't happen to me, assuming you guys sent one all the way to Aus, which I realise is a bit of a stretch
  23. That coupled with the fact that he got a good price on it would indicate to me that he did lol
  24. Well, I began reading because I picked up on the reviews, didn't even realise there was a forum, but now I read it just as much for the banter between members discussing various topics from fitness to courses and am enjoying my chance to join in Just wish there were more aussie members! Hearing about all this awesome stuff you have in the states really makes one jelous lol
  25. Sometimes I actually find breaks like that to be beneficial, for me it basically frees up my mind and expectations and a lot of the time I play better because of it. I too took a good lengthy break from the game for 3-4 years while I was finishing school and starting uni which was caused by a shoulder injury and being burnt out. For a long time I hated the sport and then it slowly started coming back and I eventually picked the clubs back up and was just happy to be out there playing again not worrying about my swing or the score and pretty much went straight back to where I was skill wise. Instead of thinking of it as a set back you have to fight against, you can try thinking of it as a mental reboot while your away and let the love of it drag you back and let it free up your mind of expectations
