  1. Recently in a local club tournament, temps in the 102 range, which I'm used to. I was playing horribly throughout the round. On 18, of course. I hit the ball into a greenside bunker then popped it out and in the hole for a score of 7 on a par 4. I just keep playing...
  2. Wearing UV Sleeves is a great idea bc the elephant in the room is Skin Cancer which is a Major Killer of Men... I've looking at wearing UV Shirts e.g. fishing shirts for protection. Check them out on Hook & Tackle and other fishing outlets...
  3. I've been looking at long sleeve fishing shirts and hats/neck sleeves from Hook & Tackle. Tee's to use under my many golf polo's or long sleeve fishing shirts. Their 50 UV protection along with cooling and wicking abilities makes sense for the golf course.
  4. I've rotated out an ole Adams Idea 3 Hybrid for a TaylorMade Sim Made 3 Hybrid stiff gaining 15 - 20 yards more. That resulted in a 15 - 20 yard gap between my 5 iron and the new hybrid. I've been working on hitting my 5 iron true to reduce that gap.
  5. I'm an ole high indexer so I feel your pain and the tug on the wallet of new club. I use an ole TaylorMade RBZ 3 wood regular flex and send the ball a long way, 190-200 yards, down range with a fairly high degree of accuracy. As a right hander I can even move my grip down the right side e.g. weak grip and launch the ball into a nice fade around doglegs and/or any trouble. Off subject I recently purchased a TaylorMade Sim Max 3 Hybrid stiff flex against all recommendations. The tiny little new hybrid is so easy to swing and hit the ball. I'm getting 170 yards out of that club. My point is think out of the box, trying a variety of different clubs before you spend your hard earned samollians.
  6. I, an ole high indexer, recently upgraded my 3 hybrid from an ole Adams regular flex to a Sim Max Stiff Flex. The difference is amazing leaving a huge gap between my 5 iron & new 3 Hybrid. I have settled into my driver and 3 wood which are both old and working well for me, but, I'm thinking about getting fitted for a new driver & 3 wood because of the performance increase in the 3 hybrid. During the fitting I'll compare what I am currently using to at least three new items with regular & stiff flexes. I don't buy into the notion that ole golfers with slow swing speeds need regular or senior flex. Prove me wrong.
  7. Found a TM P790 on the 17th tee box at Arrowood GC in Oceanside, CA. I was tempted to put it in the bag, but, turned it in to the pro shop. Very nice iron.
