  1. I have worn True Linkswear nearly exclusively except one pair of Ecco’s for the past 7 years and1 pair of spiked Eccos I ordered by accident before I exchanged for the other Ecco’s. I haven’t really had an issue wearing out the sole of the shoe. More wearing the shoes out as I walk 99.5% of the time and put a ton of miles on my shoes. The spiked Ecco’s immediately lost spikes on the first round, were replaced and repeated. They were quickly exchanged for the spikeless and i never had another problem. Well, they hurt my feet, but that was not the sole, but the design. I switched back to True Linkswesr Originals and you would have to kill me to get them off my feet.

  2. I can’t speak to the shoe hurting my feet but I have had plantar fasciitis in the past and have never experienced True’s hurting my feet. I have had 5 different styles of Trues and if they are nothing else they were always comfortable. I still keep a pair of the Oxfords to wear casually as they look great and are still comfortable. They lost their ability to keep my feet dry ( was a problem with the model and they replaced them twice for free) and I can’t really golf in them any longer. The OG’s are so good I don’t think anything other then the new brown color way or the Major’s could pry them off my feet.
I am a Nurse, a former Marine and a walking golfer. I have very high standards for my shoes.

  3. I have worn True Linkswear for many years.  The original Tour shoe was great; their shoes for the last few years... not so much.  But I haven't tried the new Original, but I will likely buy a pair this spring.  It looks like they fixed some of the issues, so I'll try them again.  They were the most comfortable shoes I have worn.  Personally, I like the big toe box.  I can live with the looks if shoes are comfortable.
I bought a pair of Skechers V3 Elite last year and they are pretty comfy too.  It took me a little while getting used to them; different than the Trues, but I haven't had any problems with comfort.

I felt the same way for a while. Had some Trues that were terrible. But I got a pair of the new OG’s in green. They are the bomb. True really has retooled their design and manufacturing to a very high standard. I cannot day enough about how happy I am with my new True’s. Give them a try you will not be dissatisfied. And if you are they have a money back guarantee.
  4. Good for Bob. Sounds like they are making attempts at being competitive and not just an ego driven brand. It can only do good thing for equipment if companies are putting out better equipment and not just another badged-on carbon fiber piece to make sales.
I wonder if the irons, that I know little about, because I was just assuming “ego” brand and not competitive tech. I wonder if they will perform or make strides in tech, feel, performance and not be just an ultra expensive brand.

  5. Extreme walking
I was looking at maps around my town and I am 4.4 miles from my home course. With greenways, back trails and the like I am wondering if I can walk there, play and walk back. It would be about 15 miles all said and done. But I think it is doable.
Of course my wife go me the Tom Coyne book “A Course Called Ireland” for Christmas and it has me thinking....

  6. I've never seen an enclosed or heated cart at a public course where I am, but I guess you would have to in MN.

Bethpage Black still is a walking-only course, and push/pull carts in my opinion are more trouble than they're worth there due to the bunkering, slopes, and rough around the greens.  I played there Saturday, and 3 of us were carrying, and the fourth had a push cart that he wanted to abandon after the 6th hole.  It's a beast of a walk, and I won't play it if I have any back issues at all.  By the time I get to the 16th tee, I'm nearly spent, and that's when my back is feeling good.  But when I'm done, it's exhilarating (in spite of the score I've carded!), and I always look forward to doing it again.

Trump's new course in the Bronx is cart-path only I believe.  I've only played it once and walked it - not too bad a walk really.

Anyway, walkers are a minority, but I do feel walking adds to my enjoyment of the round and a feeling of accomplishment.

I pushed a cart through BPB. It was tough but goddamnit it was AWESOME!IMG_2198.JPG
  7. I’m a nurse. I am on my feet a lot. But I walk. I find it relaxing or exercise. Or sometimes both. I started fast the other day and blew through the round in 2:53. My course is a difficult walk and very hilly. There is no break from the hills, especially when you leave the 13th green.
I walked 48 (my age) at Sweetens Cove about a month ago. The day before I slogged 27 in rain gear.
Enjoy the Walk. The walk makes my game better

  8. I completed my all black bag with my Forged Tec 4i and King Utility Black 2-3 that arrived last week. Now I really need to pump the breaks on my purchases after >$1k on all my new iron goodies, but Jones bags look so tempting - if I make a purchase come summertime I think that will be the ticket!
I also received a late Christmas gift from #MyGolfSanta in the raffle yesterday - a Cleveland RTX 4 56*. Thanks guys! Once I sell my old set I'll be sure to make my 2019 donation.

Would like to see some images of this murder bag....
  9. Well it's now been over 2 years and the ER2 is still firmly in the bag. Prior to the ER2 I was switching putters all of the time, mainly because I never had one that really differentiated itself.

That all changed with the ER2 and it has been in my bag for 2 straight years and is not going anywhere anytime soon.

I agree. I have have mine for two years nd I can’t imagine switching. Not only do I get a lot of “oh’s and ash’s” or “I love your putter”but it is the best damn putter I have touched. I’m not an exceptional putter if the ball but I am convinced this helps me and I sink more putts because of it.
Added bonus, when I visited MGS they gave me a super pimp putter cover for it.
  10. Long night last night. Where do any of you go for help/relief/venting when the marriage hits rough spots? 17 years and I’m 50.... Harder to get through these times these days.

I am sorry. I can imagine this will eat at you and be in the front of your mind all the time. One day at a time, like everything else.

  11. Best to get a tough sentence now as a learning experience. When my kids were teenagers I cringed every time they took the car out.

I agree. I’m an ICU nurse and see what happens and deal with trying to keep people alive long enough so they can recover. I may have him come visit the Unit for an eye opener. He’s taking defensive driving soon and will lose his license for probably 6 months, which he deserves but is a long time and a stiff /fair penalty. He will go through the ringer for sure. An awakening shall occur
  12. UPDATE:  my SIL passed away this morning at 3:30am.  They did a test yesterday and she had no brain activity, so they took her off the ventilator around 5pm.  My wife and her brother were there with her all weekend.  My wife is OK with it; she accepted that it was the best for her.  Her brother is not doing as well.  It will take time.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.  It's great to have friends like you to help get through these trying times.  You're the best!!

Very sorry. My thoughts to you and your family
