  1. Yes, I've gotten better from strategy and course management videos. Swing tips videos probably not.
  2. My dog looks dead, lol. He had a hard day of destruction... laying in a pile of garbage. Floor underlay, drywall, someones coffee cup, all stuff he collected from the yard
  3. with lessons just on my iron swing last year, a side effect was my driver carried 30 yards further with no speed or driver training.
  4. I agree with everything in the article. Biggest one for me was to get rid of the 120 yard slice, lol. Which is covered under lessons. Whenever someone asks me for a tip, I say go for lessons. Wish I started my lessons 20 years earlier, could've stopped a lot of pain and despair lol
  5. If you happen to go the clicgear route. As someone with all the attachments, the steering knob is the best attachment without a doubt. It takes about half the effort to push the cart, and doesn't put extra strain on your wrists when turning or going up a hill. Worth every penny. Buy it first.
  6. Morning all! Think its going to be a great week! Yesterday I had my first lesson out of 10. Apparently I let myself get lazy on a few parts of my swing, lol. Was hitting more crisply than before. Got to play a 4 man scramble on the sim tonight, so hopefully can golf well. Driving Ranges are pretty much all open now, and courses opening up slowly. Lots opening on the upcoming weekend. Way earlier than usual. So hopefully be golfing outdoors next weekend!!!
  7. Good morning all. Gonna try watch the Masters here at work. Hopefully its slow today lol
  8. I have a GC2. Probably best buy for the buck nowadays. -No subscription fees for GC2 -works with most to all software -great for sim golf -portable -can buy replacement batteries, and replacement flash modules I did upgrade from the original skytrak, The difference was night and day, even though my skytrak was set up perfect and didn't have too much delay. If I was to upgrade it would be to a Uneekor eye xo2 for an overhead unit, and club data As a warning to others, some of the cheaper ones do not do well with simulation software, or the shortgame sucks, or no putting. Do your research if you want to go the sim route.
  9. Any blemish, scratch or rub its gone. So even if its still in play after a few rounds rarely would it pass my inspection.
  10. This was fun last season. I never started posting scores until the end of the season. Next season I'll post from the start.
  11. xbox for 14 years I think now. Playstation remotes are for people with small hands. Not sure if they smell like cabbage, lol. In reality it probably doesn't matter for me as I only play 2 games, and they are on both systems. I just really wish for all games on both systems they allowed cross platform play.
  12. congrats testers. This will be a good one for sure.
  13. pw carry 142 yards, low spin 5000 will roll out to 150 9i carry 150 yard 9 o'clock swing depending on pin may go this route
  14. I've posted a few videos of Ripper playing with his bucket lol, but here is him and his sister Beth. They love staring at the back of my head through my office window. Great guard dogs, word has spread throughout the deadbeats. Only had one guy jump the fence since the dogs came... he was back over the fence as quick as he could move once they saw him, lol. Especially Ripper. I have a customer who comes in my office lots. He always says, "man I wouldn't want Ripper chasing me." Haha my office window glass is so scratched from them. Rip rip Beautiful Beth beth
  15. we have one at our course. It's basically for people who can no longer golf, but enjoy being at the course or supporting it. It only gives them 10% off Merch and food.
  16. Sell 3 mulligans per team for 10 bucks each (completely optional). I think that helps with the sandbagging, and makes more $$ for the fundraiser.
  17. I've been doing Axius core for over a year. Pretty sure it changed my life. Core is key in golf, and I had no core strength before, lol. I've always been active, but I'm 49 now and being active just isn't enough anymore. I was starting to fatigue around the 14th hole, and lose focus. And back pain was creeping up on me due to the soft core. And let me state this; I hate working out! Haven't lifted a weight since first week of university like 30 years ago, lol. Axius core is a 30 minute workout 3 times a week, and has really strengthened my core and helped with flexibility. Between lessons and this at the end of last golf season I was mid 170's ball speed with the driver. A year before I was having trouble getting over 160 consistently. All sessions are set up, then recorded and reviewed by a Titleist tpi strength coach, so all my workouts are custom for me, and focused on muscles and flexibility that will help specifically my golf game. I've had a rotator cuff injury, and she's aware of that when setting up my workouts. Never had abs before, maybe an ab haha. Worth every penny in my opinion.
  18. I'm surprised my neck can hold up all these brains, lol. Big noggin. No specific brand, but when I find a hat that fits. I buy it. I find more flat brimmed hats fit... any free hat, I give away, will never fit.
  19. Men's hairy legs in HD makes me physically ill. Disgusting imo. Here is where I'm a little traditional for PGA. And then there are joggers. Nothing screams beta male more than joggers. But hey its 2024, who am I to tell someone what to wear. But I'm allowed to have opinions.
  20. You should never finish a hole before all others on your team are done putting in a scramble.. What happens if you miss and another shot is selected for your team? Do you get another shot? Not really fair. Also the next putter has zero pressure on him if he knows he doesn't need to put it close. That being said, its a D%^k move calling it out. I see this happen often, and just let it slide. I'm there to have fun, not argue. I'm past that point in my life (used to love to argue, lol). If its a really big deal, it should be mentioned before the scramble starts imo.
  21. damn teenagers!!! lol. It used to bother me, for some reason, not so much anymore. As long as the music is decent I don't mind anymore. Getting soft as I get older, not more grumpy lol
  22. Here's my pieced together set up with the best and most affordable software available GSPro. 863 courses, and more added every week. In the past I played on their tours provided. This year I bought a clubhouse, so create my own tour, with events I pick. Keeps points, and all stats. For practice they have many different modes. Myself I like dropping somewhere on the fairway and hitting shots from there at different distances to different greens. Can do on any course. My computer needs to be upgraded, as atm I have graphics at medium, would love to play at Ultra quality. For projector I have optoma hd28hdr which is a 1080 projector. After I upgrade my computer I will upgrade this to 4k. It is mounted on the ceiling. For a mat I have a Fiberbuilt. Very realistic, and punishes you on fat shots unlike some other mats. Hard to putt off of, but once the bristles soften up after a year of hitting it's fine, lol. Used moving blankets for the baffle above, as I have a vaulted ceiling this part was tough. My mother is going to sew me something nicer looking like from a theatre some day. For a screen I have Carl's Premium. It has very little light bleed through and is quiet when hit into. This is my second screen purchased. Once I shot a hole through my old one I cut it into strips, and now when playing I hang one of the strips in front of my new screen, so I hit into that. My new screen doesn't have a mark on it due to this. Takes me less than a minute to put up or take down. It works great when playing xbox. When playing Starwars Battlefront II headshots are full size, lol. For a spotlight I got a 6000k, 30w spotlight. It really helps with the onscreen image as you don't need other lights in the room that mess with the projector image. For a launch monitor I have a gc2. No club data, just ball data. No subscription fees. Can take to the range outside with me if I choose. An oldie but a goodie. For this I have the metal case, and one my stepdad built with a handle and a alignment part for switching back and forth for righties and lefties to play at the same time. I have replaced the flash module this year, so works great. I have 2 cheap webcams for video. One I upgrade my computer these will get upgraded as well. I stream to Youtube using OBS. I recently bought, but not installed 3d printed clips to hold my clubs and 1 other set on the wall. It is a constant ongoing thing that is never really finished. Been improving and upgrading over the last 5 years or so. I started with a skytrak and a net, so getting there. Here is a video of me and a bud (Birdiestreak77) playing Deer Valley. It is a course here in my home province of Saskatchewan. I hurt my back about 3 weeks ago playing hockey, so just getting back into playing. I'm holding back a little on my drives yet, but feeling decent. Thinking I will be 100% in another week or so.
  23. I would love the opportunity to be a tester. I'm always looking at reviews and new gear. Almost exclusively here. I've bought 2 drivers, a fairway wood, and 2 putters off reviews (most wanted) here. Now just a little about how my brain works. In the early 2000's poker was huge on TV. I didn't know anything about poker tbh, but decided I wanted to be good at poker. So every day I did reading about strategies, etc.. Would read about 40 min a day, and play everyday to keep my skills sharp. Went from playing $5 entries to $200 entries every night. In 2007 I was ranked 300th on Official Poker Rankings with an 89% ROI, and was rated higher than 99.99% of the poker players ranked. Fyi I only played tournaments, zero cash games. Then around 2010 I started to golf more with friends and was invited to men's night at my local course. I never thought myself as good enough to attend, which I didn't. At this point I would golf maybe 20 rounds a year and broke 100 maybe once or twice. This was when I decided I wanted to be good at golf! Haha if only I knew what was ahead. In my mind being good was breaking 100 most of the time. Once I did that I was hooked, and on the journey to break 90, and get rid of my 120 yard slice. I upgraded my equipment, and took a few lessons at Golftown. With the slice down to a solid 60 yards now I was able to learn to play smart golf, and eventually broke 90. From this point, I probably tried every training aid known to man, with some helping immensely, and others well... didn't. With the help of training aids, reading everything available (Pelz/Rotella/Parent, etc.) I started lessons at a course an hour away (didn't like my local pro after one lesson). He helped so much with my short game breaking 80 was only a matter of time. Unfortunately he retired after 2 summers. So we are around 2019 now, and I'm an addict. Purchased a skytrak, then upgrading to a GC2. I brought my game indoors for the long Saskatchewan winter and discovered the Simulator Golf Tour, where I joined clans, played Ryder cup events, really expanded my game and competitiveness. I also started taking lessons from Shane Warren the pro on SGT. He cured my slice and now I hit a draw (most of the time, haha). That year I won my flight at the Northern. A match play tournament at my local city course. And I ended up winning my Club Championship 2 years in a row at my small town course. Can't believe I was scared to go to men's night at one point in time... Now I run Men's night lol. This past year I worked my handicap down to as low as 4. With help from my Coach Shane, I've gotten my ballspeed to go from 140's to low 150's, to last year my top was 174bs. Not bad for a 49 year old. The last two years I've shot par on my home course, then broke par. And shot under par on 2 other courses. Something that would've been impossible just a few years earlier. As for testing, I'm a total golf junkie so believe me it would get the full test. In the winter I play on my sim for sure every second day (most streamed live to youtube). In the summer I will golf everyday after work 9 holes, then on weekends I'll golf 36 per day minimum, some days 45 or 56 holes no problem. I try go the the range before starting a round, and the putting green if time. I also buy a range pass from the city course nearest where I work and hit the range everyday at lunch. When I don't go to the range I will go to their beautiful practice area for short game practice. So able to test something everyday potentially. I really have to be completely exhausted to take a day off. So the funny thing about my journey is it isn't over yet, as being a 4-5 hcp in my mind I can do better. I know from my winter sim playing that most likely this will be my best year ever. Even my buddy whom I golf with all the time said to me recently "You are way better now than you used to be". So my confidence is high, I play often. Therefore I believe I would be an excellent tester for MGS! And would love the opportunity if given. Thanks, LT (Shifty)
