  1. I hit 119 with the green club on a regular swing tonight. Love it!
  2. You could totally start water swing speed....much like water aerobics. Lol.
  3. Thanks. The arm will heal. It really doesn’t hurt with the other swings. I warm up. I am already in good shape. In any exercise where you push your body to the max...you will get injured at some point. It is inevitable. You just need to manage it instead of trying to push through it. Good luck to you as you resume your regimen. Yes I do the warmups.
  4. The feet together drill doesn’t seem to irritate the left arm. I am wearing a brace on the left arm until it heals. Also doing some physio on the area. Thanks again for the advice! This does seem to work the same muscles....not quite as effectively as kneeling swings, but it is better than not working them. Session was kind of blah today until my last three swings with green which went 111....112....113. I was flying drivers 230-240 at golf show this morning on the simulators. SS was around 100 for the driver the whole time. This is going to be a big difference this year!
  5. Thanks @revkev That is great advice! I appreciate it immensely. Yeah. I was hoping that eventually I would be able to do the kneeling swings...,but I will do feet together as a substitute for the time being. Sorry....I didn’t realize you were in the more advanced stages of the disease. Lol.
  6. Well. It happened. I have an overuse injury in my left arm. Golfers elbow. It is the kneeling swings from the left hand side which irritate it. The regular left handed swings don’t bother it. As such....I will be modifying my regimen. No kneeling swings for me. I have a disease called OLD (48 years). I am still stoked however. Injuries happen.
  7. Yes. I saw yesterday how “addictive” it can be to try to beat a number with each swing. I am sure you are right about SS increases. I like your dynamic warm up idea. Very cool.
  8. Ok guys. Good call on getting the swing speed radar to track my progress. Before I was just listening to the swoosh with no music in the background. I could hear the fast ones...they made a different noise. The swing speed radar is definitely more objective....and I can listen to music now since I don’t have to listen for the swoosh. Today was my first day using the radar on the second session of my Level 1 training protocol. Still have a cold so I was quite winded again during this session just like the last one. I also hope I am faster than I measured today and my illness is slowing me down. Lol! Here are my fastest numbers for each session. R. L Kneeling. G: 94. 80 B: 87. 76 R: 80. 79 Standing. G: 106. 97 B: 100. 99 R: 96. 80 Step Change. G: 109. 97 B: 104. 85 R: 94. 85 Standing final swings. 106
  9. Thanks a million Sirchunksalot! That is exactly the practical information that I was looking for.
  10. Just finished a great book on managing your golf expectations. It is called Easier Said Than Done by Dr. Rick Jensen. I highly recommend it to anyone who plays this crazy game called golf.
  11. Went to next protocol this morning. Felt a little junky this morning but not bad enough to not work out. I am starting to come down with some sort of illness. The five swings from each side along with the kneeling had me seriously winded due to my less than perfect health right now. I hit the simulator this afternoon. Average driver swing was 97 mph....average carry was 230-240 yards. I think the sim I was on over the weekend was accurate. This is awesome. Swing speed radar arrived this afternoon so I will start tracking that as well. I have a question for all of you. Do you need to track all of the swings? Or can you just track the last ones with the green stick? Any thoughts and opinions appreciated.
  12. I look forward to hearing about your trip. And yes....I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the chipping. Thanks! I will play with garden hoes and shovels if it will improve my game! Lol.
  13. 77 with the HBs at a course in Ocean City MD on Friday. Love them! Hit a 185 yard 4 iron high draw to an elevated green. Beautiful! Also, I have found with the wide flange that these clubs are a chipping monster with a simple putting stroke! Will not DIG on that chipping stroke! Looking to Florida trip next month with multiple rounds.
  14. Was out of town and got to play 18 at Ocean City Golf Club on Friday. 60 something degrees and windy. I thought I noticed a difference with swing speed. Hit some big drives so I thought my speed had increased but still not sure as the wind was a big factor. On Saturday I went to an indoor golf simulator I have never used. Average driver speed was 100 mph with top speed of 103. My average on the last simulator was 88-92 last year. I am back home and I am going to check out my speed on a known simulator that I have used before to see if these numbers are real. Totally stoked if they are!!!!! I did order the swing speed radar as well....should be here this week.
  15. Easiest 4 and 5 iron I have ever hit. I have only hit them on my Skytrak and at the local golf dome....but they are stupid easy to hit....with height. You are right...,they are harder to hook than a hybrid. Hit these clubs if you can. You won’t be disappointed.
  16. I thought long and hard about getting the radar but I decided against it. My big concern is that I don’t want to get so wrapped up with hitting numbers so that I lose my form. I could very well be wrong in my thought process. I hit balls with my seven iron on my Skytrak before my swing speed session....and after I am finished I hit some more balls....and I have noticed a yardage increase already with what feels like the same effort and in balance swing.
  17. Ok. i am in. My superspeed sticks arrived. Got a session in with them yesterday. I don’t have the radar so I am going to have to rely on my average numbers hitting balls on my Skytrak to gauge improvement Fun fact....they do spark if you accidentally hit the garage floor. Just happened once, and then I got the hang of keeping the tip from hitting the floor.
  18. Thank you for your reply. I pulled the trigger on them after my golf coach told me to get them. I will post my results in the other thread.
  19. So.....for everyone who has used these....do these things work?
  20. Handicap finished the year at 1.8. I have been trying to get to scratch so I purchased a year subscription to shot by shot strokes gained tracking program to see where I was bleeding strokes. It converts your strokes gained number into a handicap for you. Driving: 3 handicap Short game: 3 handicap Putting: Scratch Approach: NINE handicap it was clear to me that my iron game was holding me back. I really wanted to try something that would help....and this just may be the ticket. I got the 4-PW. I am going to the fitter on Monday to see if they need to be bent 2 degrees flat like my irons. I already catch grief for the ugly putter that I use....,why not catch some flak for my irons as well?
  21. Will let you know how the trip goes. You know...the clubs don’t look that bad at address.
  22. Ok. I am a low handicapper and I have always wondered about game improvement clubs; however, I have always been leary because of the lack of spin that they create. I saw the Cleveland Launcher HB won the category for SGI. I saw Mark Crossfields review. I read this post from start to finish. Yet, I was hesitant to buy them as an experiment to see if they could help a low handicapper. Then, I realized that with my rewards program through our office credit card, I could get this set for FREE. That is my kind of price. Lol. So, I just unboxed them and proceeded to test them on my Skytrak at home against my Mizuno JPX 850 forged irons. Yeah....the Mizunos feel a little more like butter when I hit them....but I can get over that if my iron play improves. I am a club longer with the HBs. I am not sure if the lofts are jacked or not....so that may not be a good comparison. Spin was about 300 rpm less with the HBs....but the HBs flew higher and had very similar stopping power to my Mizunos. The BIGGEST thing I noticed.....about one out of every ten swings for me will be a little on the dicey side....is that I am BLOWN away by the forgiveness of the HBs compared to the Mizunos. I hit one on the heel which felt like it should go nowhere. It flew about five yards shorter than my standard ball with just a baby fade on it that ended up four yards off line. I am looking forward to getting these out on my Florida trip in March. I will keep everyone updated. These could be a game changer......

    is Tiger Done?

Agree 100%. If he will make the transition to being a grinder rather than trying to keep up with the long hitters then he will be able to continue to play and will probably win a few more because of the experience factor.
  24. I found a Wilson Staff Duo ball, and I bought a dozen of them after hitting the ball. I have six rounds in with this ball. The price is right at approximately $20 per dozen. The thing that I like about it at the 29 compression it has is that it feels like the old balata balls to me when I hit it. The ball is longer off my driver and irons. From a full swing in the fairway I get hop and stop action on the green. Around the green it is definitely NOT a Pro V1....it does run out more. The ball has great durability. For the price it is a good ball!
