  1. So, we're done with week three and I'm noticing a slight plateau or normalization period coming in. Here's the numbers from Saturday YR: 103, 104, 105 YL: 84, 84, 80 GR: 99, 102, 100 GL: 79, 84, 83 BR: 96, 98, 97 BL: 76, 76, 78 YRS: 100, 100, 98 YLS: 79, 81, 80 GRS: 93, 96, 93 GLS: 80, 78, 77 BRS: 90, 93, 92 BLS: 73, 77, 72 M: 106, 110, 107 D: 96, 96, 96, 94, 96 Here's the numbers from yesterday's training YR: 105, 105, 106 YL: 81, 83, 82 GR: 99, 100, 102 GL: 82, 82, 80 BR: 95, 97, 99 BL: 79, 79, 79 YRS: 98, 98, 99 YLS: 75, 81, 80 GRS: 94, 92, 92 GLS: 74, 74, 75 BRS: 86, 90, 89 BLS: 72, 72, 71 M: 106, 108, 109 D: 94, 95, 95, 96, 95 Now, I'll admit, the lower speeds on Monday night may come from playing 18 holes that morning and this being the first training session where play was followed by training, but I don't know. My body is just normalizing back to where it is right now, and that's great as far as I'm concerned. I understand that this isn't always going to be jump and jump, but I hope that this retention stage lets the pre-swing speeds start to creep on up closer to the higher 90's number by the end of the first five weeks. I'm happy to get a break today before starting with week 4 (where does time go!) on Wednesday so I can get back on the regular schedule.
  2. Be interested to see how things go for my final weekly training session after 18 holes tomorrow. News from training session 2 yesterday though, got it going late so speeds weren't all that impressive... but hit 110 on a Max Out, so really exicted by that
  3. Thursday night, sometimes alright for bad football on Amazon in the fall, sometimes a good night to get your drinking started in college for the weekend, and sometimes... a good night to get underway at Speed Training with Superspeed. Below are the reported numbers from last night. PRE DRIVER SWINGS 90,94,93,94,95 YELLOW Right Side: 106, 104, 104 Left Side: 80, 84, 86 Right Side Step: 103, 101, 102 Left Side Step: 80, 81, 80 Max Out: 108, 106, 106 GREEN Right Side: 99, 103, 101 Left Side: 83, 84, 80 Right Side Step: 95, 97, 98 Left Side Step: 80, 76, 78 BLUE Right Side: 99, 97, 97 Left Side: 80, 78, 78 Right Side Step: 91, 92, 93 Left Side Step: 76, 75, 75 POST DRIVER SWINGS 99, 98, 96, 98, 97 A lot of good here! First, the fastest set of non-max yellows in conventional swings but man, was I dejected in the left swings not hitting that 80 all threshold. Going with the actual move with the step swings, I still feel as if I'm not optimizing it and I think some of that comes from my old little league days. I always had a big stride in my swing, and I feel as if I'm stepping, planting, and really trying to open up my hips hard, which is forcing some tough stress on my knee at times because that's a hard plant for me to get through everything, even sometimes bringing my back leg through in a step-through motion. Will be worth watching. Also, very happy with the max out swings hitting a new high average and making me thing 110+ is obtainable this week at least for one swing. Lastly, the fastest 5-swing average of post-training yet and more importantly 1 mph away from triple digits, which seems so far away when we started sessions ago. Things continue to move in a positive direction which makes me very happy. Can't wait t ogo again tomorrow after some pickleball play!
  4. The body wants to try... the weather is telling me no. As such, we'll push for Thursday, Saturday, Monday
  5. Well, kinda. The newest versions weren't the hottest in Ball Lab, comparatively speaking. I know the latest B XS was sub average in the latest version.
  6. When I saw this come through the lab, you were the first person I thought of @GolfSpy_APH. Basically, what have we learned today? Stay away from balls out of Vietnam seemingly. Be interested to see what that means to the PXG Ball as that's where that's getting manufactured as well I do believe.
  7. So woke up this morning feeling a bit hip stiff from a rough night's sleep, and looks like a rainy day all day today, which will be good because we were in near drought conditions. As such, we will see where the body is at this afternoon to determine whether we will go tonight or push it back to Thursday this week—hoping for good enough weather and body to get it in tonight!
  8. I mean, I shower off after every session Foz. A nice cold one after going at it as hard as I can. Once we get to the 2nd week to maintain I'm really wondering how my speeds will work as we add more swings to the protocol. That move to 57 swings at Level two is gonna be real interesting
  9. Alright, let's discuss the week that was. First, the air quality got better as the week went on, but that gave me little joy as the results from my training on Friday were nothing to write home about. YELLOW Right Side: 101, 102, 101 Left Side: 81, 84, 82 Right Side Step: 102, 96, 96 Left Side Step: 82, 81, 83 Max Out: 106, 104, 103 GREEN Right Side: 99, 98, 99 Left Side: 77, 79, 79 Right Side Step: 94, 91, 86 Left Side Step: 57, 60, 60 BLUE Right Side:95, 96, 95 Left Side: 79, 72, 74 Right Side Step: 78, 81, 75 Left Side Step: 67, 45, 45 DRIVER SWINGS 93, 95, 95, 96, 94 Simply put, I hit an absolute brick wall on Friday night. Some of it was frustration, some of it was just tiredness, some of it fatigue. The only upside from this is that I found myself so angry at myself that I hit my highest Max Out swing to this point at 106 out of pure unsubstantiated rage. Why did I hit the wall? Probably a combination of a stressful day at work/doctor's appointment, a lack of dinner to that point, and just general malaise due to the long week I had. In short, while some people work out more efficiently and better under rage and frustration, I do not with Superspeed. While I am going to be an evening tester most likely during the week due to work, it's not going to be something that I'm going to do on an empty stomach or with an upset mind. Now, fast forward to Saturday. I haven't been playing much because my usual game on Saturday morning has been taken over by tournament season, basically every week there's something, and instead, my local game, which is full of retirees, has moved to Monday and Friday, the time I can't make due to work. Part of this is why next season for the first time ever, and with the missus' permission, I might look to join a club where I can get regular play and not feel hamstrung by these scheduling impacts. However, the course opened at 6 pm and with a cart I was able to fly around in 8 minutes for a 9 hole round. I was using my new Voice Caddie VC4 gps to get distances from the tee and let me tell you something, I was moving the ball of the tee, comparatively speaking. I played from the blues and while the course isn't the longest, It was nice to have closer yardages than I ended last year with. We play our skins from the white tees and when I get to there... oh boy do I feel like some low rounds will be coming my way. The scorecard is below and I'll note that outside of the drive of 3, none of these felt like perfect swings, but they did feel like faster swings. Distance for the 4th hole was done via 5 iron for position, and 9 was a 4 iron. Also, I lipped out birdie putts on 2, 6, and 8 after hitting shots to within 10 feet on each hole. Alright, now that you see that, let's talk about Sunday afternoon. Before we left for dinner and after a late snack type lunch, missing out on my wife's chorizo tacos, I decided to take on session three of the week. Here's how that one broke down. YELLOW Right Side: 102, 104, 104 Left Side: 80, 82, 86 Right Side Step: 102, 100, 99 Left Side Step: 80, 81, 79 Max Out: 108, 107, 107 GREEN Right Side: 99, 98, 97 Left Side: 79, 80, 83 Right Side Step: 95, 93, 92 Left Side Step: 76, 77, 76 BLUE Right Side: 96, 95, 97 Left Side: 81, 81, 79 Right Side Step: 88, 87, 89 Left Side Step: 71, 70, 72 DRIVER SWINGS 94, 96, 97, 97, 96 After the Friday session to come back and see the marked improvement made me very very happy and proud of myself. We also closed that session with 5 driver swings, all of which were among the fastest swings I've taken so far. So I went back and looked at my goals for this week and whether or not we're able to check them off. 1: 5 swing driver average of 95 mph, with a top out at 100 mph. I consider this half complete as the final swing average was 96 even for the week, although we're still a few MPH away from triple digits 2: 1 Max Out swing at 108 or higher. Check please! Really happy to have hit this range for me as it shows we're moving in the right direction. 3: All left handed standard swings over 80 mph. Close, but no cigar. We barely missed it this week, and we'll try to get it done in week 3. Still though, my body is having trouble sequencing the step swing, and I think I figured out why by watching the protocol video again for tips. I've been attempting to time the step with the beginning of the downswing, when instead I've been needing to make the step at the start of the backswing. A stupid mistake but one that undoubtedly has thrown off the timing and made it ineffective. We'll see what happens with it on Wednesday when we get back to it. Also, I'll close by showing you guys the force I'm trying to get off the ground and the pressure I'm putting myself in this swing. I'm currently swinging in my gravel driveway and in this photo you'll hopefully see the footprints. Also, a photo that shows what can happen when you're swinging on gravel and that air swing gets a little close to the ground. Good news, +1 for durability Superspeed!
  10. Outside of the actual speed differences... maybe! You'll see how bad that middle session was though, not ideal by any stretch of the imagination.
  11. Yeah, later when I get some time to sit down in front of a computer for a while I'm going to talk about my bad day on Friday in training, and the good day on Sunday. I think it just comes from time after time really. I do have a goal update though for week 2 and guess, what... it's a positive update! Hopefully I'll get it in later today, but I have updated the spreadsheet at the top of the thread.
  12. You say that now, but I've looked ahead in the protocols, step change swings are there at like level 4 I think? We'll all be Berkshire by then hopefully!
  13. Same, 2024 that Dollar will be mine again Jose. Have yourself a great weekend everyone, truly!
  14. So I could probably wear the fitbit during training, although I don't wear a watch when I play. I'll say this, I've been primarily an evening swinger in this system and some of those days have been very warm, and some, like last night, were in the soft summer rain as Mr. Springsteen once called it, but after every set I go into my shower and just let some cold water run down this big ol' mass of flesh. I'm not in the best shape of anyone doing this, but even if you are, it's a hell of a quick blast and really makes me wonder how I'll feel when we up the number of swings from 39 in training to 57 in level 2. That's going to be a fun time! Also, yes, I did some swing training last night after the rain came and cleared up some of the smoke out of the atmosphere, which was nice. My wife tracked but because of the rain, she kept numbers on the phone so no photo of a legal pad for you with this post, although the numbers are being transposed for record-keeping purposes. You'll also notice if you click on the top of the thread where there's the google document, I've changed my fastest swing. I will keep 5 swing averages for post-workout sets for myself, but seeing how everyone else is doing what we were told and just putting in the fastest single swing, I'm joining that party. As such we are starting this week at 94 MPH, which is up 2 MPH from where we started last week and near the top out of 95 from last week. So thoughts on the Wednesday night swing. First, the rain had little effect on grip thanks to having a solid set of rain gloves. If anything, it may have helped because coming in with slightly more grip pressure was a necessity to stop the club from slipping. The biggest note though, I felt like I've figured out moving that green stick in space. You'll see with the numbers below that I was moving it nearly equal to the yellow stick and I have a thought as to why that is. My body hasn't figured out how to best optimize the movement to get the yellow stick speeds up, but as green is slightly closer to club weight, my body has figured that one out a little easier. It's going to be worth watching to see if I can better optimize yellow because I feel like I'm close, I just need to get my brain to lock it into place. Another good note, almost hit my opposite swing goals of all regular swings over 80 for a session, which seems very doable. Without further ado, here's the swing numbers. YELLOW Right Side Swings: 100, 103, 104 Left Side: 83, 84, 85 Right Side Step Swing: 103, 103, 102 Left Side Step Swing: 79, 80, 83 Max out at end: 104, 105, 104 GREEN Right Side Swings: 103, 102, 101 Left Side: 79, 80, 84 Right Side Step Swing: 98, 99, 96 Left Side Step Swing: 81, 78, 77 BLUE Right Side Swings: 97, 96, 94 Left Side: 77,76,80 Right Side Step Swing: 98, 93, 94 Left Side Step Swing: 77, 71, 78 Driver swings at end: Fastest swing was 96 SO not crazy impressive like some in the thread yet, but I feel like something is coming soon with a big jump. Also, I may need to space things better because fatigue can be an issue nearing the end of the session, even with the breaks. Just have to get those reps in I suppose!
  15. Ok, good a question I know the answer to! So I brought this up in the pre-test call with Tyler and Michael about adding the products they sell to accompany the typical overspeed training sticks, like the squeeze, the C Stick, and the Force Pedal, and what their aims for the testing were or are with this round of testing. I know they talked about the Squeeze on the community call they did and some of the other products as well so I knew there was interest and I'm looking at trying whatever to make me faster, so I figured I'd bring it up. They said they wanted us to solely focus on the ten-week protocol with just the regular old Superspeed program for now. My hope is that this test gains the traction of the old thread from 2020, and we're still talking about it years down the line because I do potentially plan on picking up some of these other products once the 10 weeks is done and I can go over my thoughts with Tyler and Michael as to what I think I need to go even faster and keep this thread alive in that fashion.
  16. Or maybe not, the air quality has shifted into the hazardous range for here and very unhealthy is the quality at home. Trying to come up with some alternative for tonight... hrrm
  17. Well, I'm hoping to get started with Week 2 swings tonight, but a lot of that is dependent on Canada. As I'm sure you may be aware if you've been following news there are raging wildfires right now in Quebec, and all of that smoke is affecting air quality quite negatively in CNY where I am. As a former asthmatic child, I'm one of the types who probably shouldn't be out for that long in the open air. As such, we're thinking tonight might be masked-based outdoor swings, so just another potential hurdle tonight to get over. We will push on though to stay on schedule!
  18. Btw, for those of you who haven't figured it out yet, @DrTstandy is Tyler, PhD in biomechanics who works with the folks at Superspeed in developing products and tracking data like the data you're seeing here to keep track of how the program works for golfers like you and me, as well as the tour staff and Superspeed ambassadors. Second straight day of rest here, but looking forward to getting back at it tomorrow evening. Goals for week 2 are as follows. 1: Going to hopefully be pushing closer to an average speed across all 5 swings of driver to 95 with maybe a top out closer to 100. 2: 1 Max out swing on the yellow stick at 108 or higher 3: All left swing regular swings for a session over 80 mph
  19. Here's hoping 24 has an online component as 23 will not. If so, we'll meet up in the virtual sphere hopefully!
  20. Same, Jaime, did you see the reveal for F1 Manager 23? Kinda lackluster, think I'm going to skip over this generation.
  21. The week one sessions are in the books ladies and gents. and there has been some jumps, which is very very encouraging. First let's talk about the two sessions on Friday and Sunday. Friday was a super hot day and I was sweating just standing outside so I waited until the evening and went outside to take on the session, even at 90 plus in the evening. Do I think that helped keep the muscles loose, I do. I also think that led to some late fatigue as well as the session went on. Compare that with today's session. Temperatures much more moderate, but I also took on today's session after a big lunch, so full of food for energy, but maybe should have waiting until we fully digested in spots. Now, let's talk numbers. Speed are getting more consistent, and more importantly higher. Friday's Yellows were the first to hit 100 on non-max out swings, hitting one on a step swing. Today we hit that triple digit twice on regular right handed swings and once on a step. Greens got remarkably consistent averaging the same speed for all three swings on the right side in step and non-step, and Blue was up as well. Also, you'll note a jump in Friday's numbers for left handed swings from session one. I went to an interlocking grip with the left handed swing to make me feel more connected and it felt more like I could bet it moving. I went away from it today to try a full 10 finger grip, but that didn't work as well. So I'm trying to find the right way to keep speeds up and it looks like interlocking on the left is helping. So here's the raw numbers, and we'll be updating the spreadsheet at the top of the thread as well. Biggest things for me is maxing out on yellow at 105, and an increase of 1.8 mph after week 1, which works out as a 1.95% jump after 3 sessions. If we keep that up over the 10 weeks, that's crazy growth, but the good news is that it's working. Week 1:
  22. There are very few people I am happier for when they get an opportunity like this than you Chuck. Once of the nicest and best-mannered golfers I've ever met. Here's hoping it finds you a few more acorns for my fellow blind squirrel in NC next week
  23. Alright, so the first testing session was last night. I'm proud to report that it was a fun time! The swinging from the opposite side is something I know I'm going to have to try and figure out better because I didn't feel wholly confident trying to build speed there, but from where we were after the pre-session check at 92, I'm proud to announce we averaged across the five swings at the end 92.8! So a slight increase but maxing out at 95 on a 90 degree day after loading in an AC Unit and a long day at work felt really nice. Below is the rudimentary spreadsheet I had my loving wife help fill out for me. Loving those Max swings at the end of the protocol to see where you are. I hope the weather will break for my testing run on Friday, so slightly cooler temps and not as hard physical labor means some more gains, hopefully. But from the phone call, I'd note that the average over these 10 weeks is around 5-6 percent total, so goal then is to hit around 100 consistently after ten weeks. It's going to be a fun summer. Oh, a dynamic warmup video coming this weekend I think, or maybe tonight. Depends on my wife's schedule and mine, since we are crazy busy this weekend.
