  1. Shot a 39 this morning that included 2 drops. Both of those lost balls were into greens where you could only see the tip of the flag, both shots were right at the flag as far as I could tell and then when I got up there there was no ball to be found. Maybe my range finder hit the wrong target? Super annoying to have a really good 9 holes that could have been an amazing 9 holes.
  2. Started out great. #1 is a dogleg left, I hit a high beautiful draw to 155, stick my 9 iron to 5 feet, knock in a birdie. Then comes #2. Apparently there is a tourney coming up at my local course. So the course is in great shape butttt they are growing the rough to like 12". Hit my driver just off the fairway, my ball is buried in calf length wet grass. Takes me 3 shots to get out of it. I score a 10. I don't remember how the last 7 holes went before I had to get to work.
  3. Zepp 2 3D ..... Excited to be able to hit balls in my backyard and actually get some feedback on my swing.
  4. Only got in 9 again. Worst I've played in probably 5 years. 4 tee shots never got off the ground. Duffed 2 pitches. Everything else went way right. On 9 I finally hit 1 good shot. A 3H from 245 to about 10 feet. Wanted to hang myself from the nearest tree after I was done.
  5. Only played 9. Even through 7 then finished double triple. Don't have my golf stamina yet. Got tired and lazy and started hooking everything.
  6. My wife spent a bunch of money this weekend, so I woke up Monday morning grabbed my daughter out of bed and told her we were going to the golf store. It was my turn to spend some of the money I make. Bent my PW to 44 my GW to 48 Grabbed a TM Tour Preferred EF wedge in in 52* with a 9* bounce An R15 5W An R15 3H and 5H Scotty Cameron Newport 2.5 Dual Balance And a synthetic mat so I can hit balls in my backyard My daughter got a pack of pink tees to do god knows what with. I wouldn't by her a shark headcover to use as a hand puppet though. Now I need to go hit them and see if they are any good. I may have made some mistakes.
  7. Played The Old Course at St. Andrews. Shot an 87 but should have been better if I would have known that the lie wouldn't affect the distance of the club. Hit a few out of the sand that went way way over the green. Did I mention this was at a simulator place by my work during my lunch break?
  8. Actually going to pick up the MD3's today. Wish they had more bounce and grind options but oh well.
  9. Should have went with the PM grind. You'd never look back.
  10. Went to the range and did some experimenting with the grips. Only the 10 finger grip felt natural. Maybe my hands or fingers are deformed but the other grips feel so awkward. I figured out I really need to focus on where the club lies in my left hand. I have a tendency to get it up into my palm and then I start to turn it over and hook everything. If I really focus on keeping it in my fingers its all good. I have to consciously put it and keep it in the right spot.
  11. Thanks for the responses. My reasoning for the question was, "If there are basically 0 people doing it there has to be some drawbacks to it. What are they?" I get no swing is the same. But in a world where there are basically 3 options and almost nobody but me uses 1 of them, there's probably a good reason why no one does. I just wanted to be sure my grip was not keeping me from getting better. I've kind of plateaued as of late and am looking for anything to drop a few strokes.
  12. I guess I figured if no one on tour uses it there's probably a good reason.
  13. So my whole golf life I've used the 10 finger grip. I know its uncommon ish for decent players to use so I've tried to switch to interlocking and Vader(?). Both feel so unnatural to me. I have small hands in comparison to my height and stubby fingers. 10 finger is the only grip that feels "normal". Should I suck it up and work a different grip into my game or is it not that big a deal. I just worry that its holding me back somehow.
  14. Love golf but I could replace it with something else. Good chance I won't be making 100 million + over the next 10 years though.
  15. This year was the first time I put new grips on my clubs. Golf Pride Mcc4's, they were damn expensive. They had better last my 2 years or more.
  16. Yeah, my wrist had already been sore, maybe some tendinitis or something. But now I can't make a fist, hinge my wrist, just bad pain from the middle of my wrist through the back of my hand. Maybe Tiger wasn't BS'ing after he hit that root. I feel his pain.
  17. First hole I hit it right down the middle. Awesome right? Nope, sitting in a little crevice. I decide I'll power it out instead of move it. Take a Tiger Woods swing and mess up my wrist. Finish 9 but have no power or touch after that. Dammit. 48 on the front 0 on the back.
  18. Went to a new course today. It was rainy and windy the whole time. Not cold, just not overly pleasant and made for very difficult conditions. Balls were dying, I was getting no roll, the greens had just been sanded, the fairways were really really soft. Not ideal at all. Somehow managed to shoot an 83 despite only hitting 4 GIR. Just scrambled my ass off. Which has been my game of late. I hit my irons better but I still wasn't giving myself birdie putts. Too many tee shots in the rough or behind trees. Was just fighting to save par every hole. Only 1 double and 1 birdie though. For the horrible conditions and sandy green I'm pretty damned happy with an 83.
  19. Traded my TM R1 staff bag for a Scotty Cameron Newport mid slant. Looking to build a putter collection. Only have 4 so far but someday I'll have as many as Jmikecpa. Someday.
  20. Grabbed an R15 TP 10.5 head on ebay to go with my new Accra FX260. Should be a nice combo.
  21. Same here. 95% of the time I'm between 81 and 85. When I play really well I'm never as low as I thought and when I play really bad I'm never as high as I thought.
  22. Stopped in at Edwin Watts on my lunch break to find a 56* PM grind sitting in the used bin. Picked it up an it looks like it had been hit a handful of times at most. At $69 I had to get it.
  23. I actually just had my lie adjusted recently. Now instead of just missing right I am slicing right. As I think about it, I think I'm swinging too hard and my swing is going all out of wack. In another thread I realized I go too hard at my long irons and thats leaving me innacurate and with odd gaps between my irons. Definitely need to work on swinging inside out. I've seen a few drills I'll work on on the range.
  24. Was hitting it great off the tee, long and straight .... BUT ... they kept ending up in the worst spots. Well below my feet, in the single bunker in the middle of the fairway, in the long rough that juts out into the middle of the fairway. Very frustrating to hit, what you think is a nice tee shot, and get up to it and see its in the one bad spot it could have landed. Irons were HORRIBLE and have been for awhile. Not sure I hit a GIR outside of 100 yards at all. Luckily I was hitting great shots at the pin with my wedges after my approach shots didn't hit the green. Putted solid and was able to salvage an 86. A really ugly 86. I've got to figure out a way to get my 5,6,7,8 irons going. Hitting everything right, really far right. It would be nice to not have to play my ass off around the green to save a bogey.
