  1. I've now played a couple of rounds with the duo and can't say I was blown away. Not that it's a bad ball, but for me it's not any better than the Callaway super soft. I'm playing tomorrow and will use the duo but otherwise I'll go back to the Callaway until I get some Wilson 50's. The duo stays straight off the tee though, which I liked.
  2. I had a Callaway Diablo Octane and just could Not get on with it. I let my buddy try it and he was like a PGA pro with it so it's his now and he's giving me a couple of clubs for it. I'm just happy it works for him. That makes two Callaway drivers that didn't work for me. Go figure....
  3. Thanks for the replies, lots of FW's mentioned. I know many of them are really good. But I want to know about drivers. The Powerbuilt is definitely on my radar because I've read SO many good reviews on it and the technology really intrigues me. And Ping drivers have always had my attention going back to the G15, but I never pulled the trigger on getting one.
  4. Of all the drivers you've ever used, which one had the hottest face? Almost like the same sides of magnets where the ball just explodes off the club. I play a Bridgestone hybrid that has a face like that and it's incredible. I don't even have to make full swing. But I've yet to find a driver like that.
  5. I've got Winn jumbo grips on my irons and absolutely love them. I don't know why, but it makes me grip lighter and therefore swing better. They really help my my fat, meaty hands. I showed a playing buddy two weeks ago and he was so impressed that he had jumbos put on his that week. They have really helped my sore hands and wrist.
  6. Wasn't able to play the Duo this past weekend because Walmart was sold out of those AND the Callaway super soft. So l played the e6. They had the 50 elite but I didn't want to try those yet. But I went Monday night and pick up a box of Duo's in yellow and will play them Saturday. Question: I've played the e6 in white and in yellow. The e6 yellow ball feels harder and it's like an extra coating on the outside of the ball. When I hold the yellow Duo in my hand, the color feels like it's mixed with the regular coating and not an ext
  7. So many courses are too long. At my course the par 4's should be par 5's. Which is another reason I moved to the senior tee's. Another issue, IMO, is that so many greens at public courses are too small. I watch on TV these greens the pro's play are HUGE. Whereas amateurs are trying to hit to these small greens. A local ex-pro told us that if you can't hit driver and iron and be on the green on par 4's then you need to move up to the next tee.
  8. My home sits on the 11th tee of my course, and I sit on my back porch and watch all these guys hitting from the back tee's who have NO business being there. I'm 46 and can hit from the back when my game is on, but I've moved up to the senior tee's and the game is such a blast now.
  9. I wish Gary Player was the president of golf worldwide. I don't think I've heard him say anything about golf that I disagreed with. He was spot on about Chambers Bay and making golf fun for the masses. I STRONGLY disagree with Trump on the elitist talk. I'm cool with private clubs, but public courses should be Amateur Hacker friendly and affordable. Golf does not have to be expensive. And I wish the PGA put out a separate Rules of Golf edition for amateurs who don't follow all the silly rules anyway on these beat up public courses.
  10. Yes, he can win. But there is no more "Tiger". That time is over, but he still shows his skills from time to time. He's a lonely man who's super rich. Who will be honest with him, and will he listen? He's still extremely arrogant. I hope he gets his personal life in order more than his golf game. I know he's still the ratings king, but I'm very happy to see the new guys out there winning.

  12. Forgive me if this has been done.... But I would like this site to review the Tour Edge Hot Launch Drivers. I like to see reviews on the lesser known clubs that aren't reviewed in the main magazines. Like the Powerbuilt driver. Or Acer. Those were good reviews. Thanks.
  13. Awesome reviews! I'm hoping to play this weekend with the Duo. I'd been playing the e6 for months but lately the Callaway Super Soft, which I love. I'm hoping the Duo lives up to all the great reviews I've read.
  14. One of my worst days ever. I keep trying to make a 46" shaft work and can not do it. It kills my drives. But I did discover he awesomeness of a steel shafted 4 hybrid that tore through the hard ground like a bulldozer and smashed the ball. I now believe that steel shafts and extra stiff graphite shafts are for me.
