  1. After a long period of radio silence (sorry for that by the way y’all) I think it’s about time that I start getting in on the forum again. Hope everyone has been doing well and will put up with me again lol.
  2. Well dang I guess I gotta come back into service after a call out like that huh?
  3. Nah you’re not missing anything, I believe Nicklaus also took off at times before majors for prep. Different players have different regimens for how best to prepare but in this case I think it’s just that Tiger has physical limitations now that he has to work around and it showed at the British. In the bag Driver: Callaway Rogue Subzero 9.5 Stiff flex 3 wood: Callaway Rogue Subzero 15 degree Hybrids: 17 degree titleist 816 h2 Irons: Ben Hogan Ptx 22-46 degree (4-pw)stiff flex standard lie Wedges: Callaway Mac Daddy 4 50,54,58 degrees Putter: Odyssey EXO seven Gig’em Aggies!
  4. Jordan will get back into form with or without the gear but he played pretty well with these over there. Problem for him is the rest of his career will be measured by a 2 year span of possibly unrepeatable performance maybe even in his own mind. But I digress, I’ve never been a titleist equipment player for no other reason than I could never afford to try one. Not to say that I can afford many of the other OEMs but they were a tad more accessible for me at the time. Good looking gear though. I know plenty of fellas who will wanna get these in their bag ASAP. Till the next release at least... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  5. The majors are currently the most prestigious obviously but at the same time is the pga championship on equal footing with The Masters or either of the Opens? There’s definitely a pecking order even among the current 4 majors so of course there’s going to be a bit of one in majors versus weekly stops. No argument that there is plenty of subjectivity that goes in defining a successful career though. I seem to recall even Sam Snead saying he focused more on number of wins than he did the majors of the time. There’s another talking point to add to the pot, the accepted majors have changed over the years and you never know, maybe down the line the pga championship gets dropped or Augusta decides to close its doors to the tour (yeah right..). Maybe even we get a 5th major years from now but would any of these hypotheticals change the definition? The Canadian open was a major at one point and I don’t even know when it’s scheduled. People are fickle so it’ll change eventually just like everything else. Personally I go for the quality of the wins over the quantity but there are plenty of weekly stops that are a huge deal to win along with the majors. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  6. I’m a fairly shallow hitter and the V-sole on my Hogan irons works pretty well for me. Definitely not a magic fix, it still takes a good swing but slight misses get a bit of help. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  7. Because golf is an outdoor, sometimes fairly expensive, long term commitment and we’re in a culture that wants instant gratification for minimal effort. In the bag Driver: Callaway Rogue Subzero 9.5 Stiff flex 3 wood: Callaway Rogue Subzero 15 degree Hybrids: 17 degree titleist 816 h2 Irons: Ben Hogan Ptx 22-46 degree (4-pw)stiff flex standard lie Wedges: Callaway Mac Daddy 4 50,54,58 degrees Putter: Odyssey EXO seven Gig’em Aggies!
  8. Had an issue with the colors bleeding together at first but otherwise it went very smoothly. In the bag Driver: Callaway Rogue Subzero 9.5 Stiff flex 3 wood: Callaway Rogue Subzero 15 degree Hybrids: 17 degree titleist 816 h2 Irons: Ben Hogan Ptx 22-46 degree (4-pw)stiff flex standard lie Wedges: Callaway Mac Daddy 4 50,54,58 degrees Putter: Odyssey EXO seven Gig’em Aggies!
  9. So I’ve been wanting to try stamping like this for a while now and finally gave it a go. I’ve shown these to a few people but thought I’d get a wide opinion. What y’all think?
  10. Not my thing but you can get some good stuff, a friend of mine will straight trade gear to different people every couple of years and always seems to get some gems. I suppose it comes down to having a discerning eye. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  11. Wow, I’d probably get the victory red blades in a combo set. Loved the version I had but it’d be awesome to have the dream build... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  12. Also a late but big thanks for all the birthday wishes! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  13. Howdy again Y’all! I’ve been away for a bit but I’m back, reenergized and ready to talk golf again. Feels good to be back with my spies! In the bag Driver: Callaway Rogue Subzero 9.5 Stiff flex 3 wood: Callaway Rogue Subzero 15 degree Hybrids: 17 degree titleist 816 h2 Irons: Ben Hogan Ptx 22-46 degree (4-pw)stiff flex standard lie Wedges: Callaway Mac Daddy 4 50,54,58 degrees Putter: Odyssey EXO seven Gig’em Aggies!
  14. Sorry y’all I’ve been away for a bit but I’M BAAAAAACK!!! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  15. Interlocking from day one. For a time I even putted like that. Never had a need to switch. Funny enough I’m a minority in my area with most the people around here using a version of the interlock. Only a million different ways to swing the club right? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  16. Could it also be a demographics thing? Taylormade and Cobra seem to push that younger flare more than all the other companies with titleist doing those kinds of ads the least. Players that Titleist at least traditionally has hooked don’t mind those ads while Taylormade is trying to get the younger crowd perhaps. Makes me think a little bit of a Phoenix open vs. Masters kind of feel. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  17. Pretty sure I remember that one, I wanna say I still use the same mark but might have to go back and look. Could be interesting... In the bag Driver: Callaway Rogue Subzero 9.5 Stiff flex 3 wood: Callaway Rogue Subzero 15 degree Hybrids: 17 degree titleist 816 h2 Irons: Ben Hogan Ptx 22-46 degree (4-pw)stiff flex standard lie Wedges: Callaway Mac Daddy 4 50,54,58 degrees Putter: Odyssey EXO seven Gig’em Aggies!
  18. A lot of good takes so far. I’m not sold on a calendar slam if he has to win off the tee but we’ll see. Bethpage will be hard to win without finding fairways but I just don’t know anymore. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. Very interesting concept here, I’m betting a lot of people tee it up way to far back. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  20. So this is a week and a few days late but here goes. I was one of “those guys” I can be directly quoted as saying “Tiger won’t win another major, it won’t happen” points to whoever can find where on the forum I said that by the way. So that Sunday I’m playing a golf and see on my phone in between shots that tiger is near the lead, then tied for the lead, then wouldn’t you know it he’s taken the solo lead. Whole time I’m saying to myself how he’s making a run but he won’t keep it. Now I’ve admittedly not been a tiger fan before his incidents and not one right after either but something switched up after a while. He’s appeared to be much more approachable and a bit more humble in how he presented himself and around that point I started to get a bit warmer to him, but still said he wasn’t going to win a big one again. So here I am in sitting at a table in the clubhouse trying to figure out what to drink with my serving of crow and humble pie while watching Tiger putt out on the 72nd hole to win number fifteen, and as that last putt falls I’m honest to goodness happy for him. He wasn’t my favorite to win but this may not be the same Tiger I found abrasive a few years back. So now what, y’all think he’ll win another? Anyone else share in my feast? I know I sure ain’t gonna bet against it anymore. Either way that crow didn’t taste so bad this time around... In the bag Driver: Callaway Rogue Subzero 9.5 Stiff flex 3 wood: Callaway Rogue Subzero 15 degree Hybrids: 17 degree titleist 816 h2 Irons: Ben Hogan Ptx 22-46 degree (4-pw)stiff flex standard lie Wedges: Callaway Mac Daddy 4 50,54,58 degrees Putter: Odyssey EXO seven Gig’em Aggies!
  21. Right after I buy a set of the standard look... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  22. Three crosses above and to the right of the brand logo. Color doesn’t really matter but I’ve always used that same mark. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  23. I’m using the 7S and after a period of adapting from a blade to the mallet style it’s worked really well for me. I put a SuperStroke pistol gt grip on it and now it’s one of my favorite putters all time. Like how pure it rolls the ball even on bumpier surfaces. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  24. I’ve had the rogue sub zero for a little while now and haven’t had any problems with it, all around solid club for me where you get out what you put in it. I’ll shape the driver to keep one side or the other out of play and it’s been as reliable as I can ask for. It won’t however (for me at least) cure a bad swing, you put a hook swing on it and that ball will hook same for a slice. I don’t know that I mind that too much though... 25. I’m one of those guys you were talking about that plays the 50 54 58 setup but that fits my set makeup with a 46* wedge up the 22* 4-iron. Short game is my strongpoint but that’s from a combination of hitting tons of shots and no high school social life. There may be better setup options for me but I know these clubs well enough to where I don’t know that I wanna look for them lol. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
