  2. That's awesome! I love the way you blended/split screen the Hogan footage along with the new irons. I just got my set of ICON irons and Equalizer wedges today. Can't wait to get out this weekend for a spin around the links.
  3. Thanks. I might give it a try.
  4. Please post recipe for that Coconut sugar candied bacon. That sounds awesome.
  5. Thanks. I know they will be less forgiving since they are muscle backs. I’m more interested in the feel of a solid shot and the workability. Sounds like they pass muster in those categories. I just can’t seem to fade my AP2’s like I want. It could be me, but I think the tungsten toe weighting might also have something to do with it.
  6. Has anyone hit the ICONs yet? How do they feel and perform? Any feedback compared to the Ft Worth 15's?
  7. Been playing as long as I can remember, probably 45 years. HDCP is 5. I played a lot of junior golf and small college golf, but didn't play from about 1997 to 2015. Now that kids are grown, I can get out and play more, but its been hard to get the old game back. Goal is to break 70. I have gotten close a few times in the last few years since I've been back, but still haven't broken the barrier. What do you love about golf? From the physical standpoint, it is a nice self-challenge to try and improve and get better, but also the reward of feeling a well struck shot is just awesome. It's what keeps you coming back. The other side is the camaraderie and the people you meet. It's the great equalizer! It doesn't matter how much money you have or what you do, if you have a great swing, a good game, and are courteous, those boundaries are broken on the course, and its just some golfers getting together to enjoy the game and maybe compete. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Enjoy reading ideas from other players, and how they view and/or enjoy the game. Always learn something new. Do you already know any other Spies? Don't think I know any other spies. Where are you from? What is your home course? I'm in Jacksonville, FL. Usually play at NAS Jacksonville. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Best things are the weather, golf year round. Worst is the heat, sometimes its tough on on the course, and there are only bermuda greens. Would love to play on nice bent grass greens like up north, but I'll take the trade off with the weather, there are still a lot of nice rolling greens down here. What do you do for a living? Sales rep for a Spinal Cord Stimulator company, helps to relieve chronic pain. How’d you pick your user name? Nothing special, just abbreviated first name with last.

  11. Travis White - Jacksonville, FL HCP: 5.8 I'm still old school. Walk off from yardage markers. I'm pretty good at estimating yardage with 35 years experience, but it would be nice to compare my skills with an accurate GPS system.

  14. Went out for another range session today with my demo set. Again, trying to find my old swing and trying to compare to my old Ping Eye 2's. Weather stayed away and the course was dead, so decided to walk 9 to put them to the test on the course and to check ball flight with Pro V1's. These things feel pretty nice off of the fairway and check well on the greens. The biggest difference I notice vs. the Ping's were from out of the bermuda rough. The Hogans cut right through it with a solid, crisp feel. While I don't have a SW, I did use the 51 around the green to try and get the feel. It felt great! Nice solid, crisp contact with the ball. While I still want to compare to AP2's, these Hogan's are looking good.
  15. I'm in Jacksonville, FL now. Mostly play at NAS Jacksonville. Next step is a couple of lessons to get me in the right slot, then probably a fitting session up the road at Sea Island, Ga. They are a regional fitter for Titleist and use quality balls and a Trackman. From there I will evaluate a couple of the other top players irons and compare. Cheers...
