Let me know if anyone is looking to sell a 4x5 or 5x5 premium style golf matt. Must have at least 3/4’ cushion bottom - need to protect those elbows and wrists. (e.g. SIGPRO Softy; Carl's Place HotShot; Fiberbuilt; Country Club Elite, etc…)

Please make a suggestion if there are other ‘best option’ mats out there that are ‘real feel’ and high shock absorption

Finding retail prices are really high out there

    thx!!

Best bet is to go to your local range and talk to the owner about purchasing one of their used mats.  That is what I did - got a $400 mat for $60

Won't be long probably, I haven't heard a single person liking non-replaceable so far 😄

I like them.  The spikes themselves are much more durable than typical replaceable spikes.  The fixed spikes are bigger, and there is no worry about losing a spike mid-round

    Hello All!

I live in Mercer county on the edge of Mercer/Monmouth right between Mercer Oaks and Monmouth county courses like Charleston Springs North & South.  Hominy Hill and Howell Park are a little further away but all within 30 minutes from my home.  I find the conditions in Monmouth closer to private courses despite they are in fact public county courses.  I mainly play at these 4 and bounce around depending on where I get invited/ enter tournaments.  Always love playing new coureses as well as familiar courses in good shape!  I also enjoy practicing as much as actually playing as I'm self taught so trial and error is my greatest teacher.  I have not touched a club since early November but looking forward to spring!  I also love the mini course at Pennington too!

Hey Ryan!  Let's definitely try to get a round together this spring - maybe meet up at Pennington to hit some balls this winter if the weather cooperates.

Hopefully there are some other lurkers on here that can join

I'm about 1:15 south on edge of Cumberland County. I think Pennington is where they would do the demo days? I've been there once or twice and played one of the Mercer courses. I remember it being good for a "county" course. Also before I got into golf. Would love to play sometime.

Yup. Unfortunately Pennington isn't doing the big multi vendor demo days. Instead, they have the OEMs come to do private fitting days which are great, especially if you have an intention of buying something

Mercer county course are really solid. We will have to try to get out in the spring

there are many types of biases: https://thedecisionlab.com/biases-index

our experiences, beliefs, thoughts, etc all influence our decision making.  people are saying these brands because they worked for them in the past and believe they will continue to work for them in the future.   That is a bias.

This was supposed to be a light-hearted thread about our irrational equipment biases. But ok

  6. I think we need to re-look at what I meant by bias.  I am not referring to what necessarily fits you best.  I am talking about completely non-scientific or performance related reasons to why we like or don't like certain brands.

I don't prefer Sun Mountain bags because I don't like their stand mechanism.  I am biased against OGIO because they are owned by Callaway and just don't want to own any Callaway-affiliated products.  If sun mountain re-did their stand mechanism, I would consider their bags.  There is nothing OGIO could do (aside from breaking off from Callaway) to make me want to by an OGIO bag.

Lol love the add in of Madden NFL. If there was ever a sign of a year over year release struggling its that.

Madden 23 will be put on EA Play right after the Super Bowl, so you if are a subscriber, you will get madden for Free a month before you did if you pre-ordered this deluxe edition

My point is, who cares what auto part we call it? The point the person is trying to make is that the shaft is more important then the head. And they should probably  just say that.

The point is that the shaft isn’t as important as those people claim is why I posted the myth busting that it’s not as important and that saying it’s like an engine is also false. The more correct info that is posted on a forum the better the forum is.

Please take it to Personal Messages or another thread

I am really coming around on the TM Putters. They have been releasing some great looking heads. I think my only complaint is I wish they would get into the shaft game and look to provide some sort of innovation there.

Of course the moment TMaG comes out with some sort of unique shaft, the internet golf world will

    1) Claim that is a gimmick

    2) Say they just copied Callaway

    Hello Spies!

I have recently purchased a GCQuad unit and am fascinated by all of the data (and the ability to play golf at 9pm!). As I dig deeper into these numbers, I was hoping someone could point me towards good resources for understanding each metric/what is optimal and which I should concentrate on and maybe some ways to train to achieve more optimal shots. Thanks so much!

I would also heavily recommend watching TXG Videos on youtube.  They do club reviews and fitting videos, and they are almost always centered around GCQuad data and how to interpret it
