Don't get me wrong, I am totally an Evnroll fanboy. My gamer was an ER2 when they first came out, and I switched to an ER5B in May 2020 - love them, and would buy another...
...BUT, I would not buy black "murdered out" from Evnroll again, the anodizing, paint or whatever they use is not as durable as I would expect. My ER5B has 278 rounds on it. There's a lot of wear on the head of mine (sole, leading and trailing edges especially), and it is NEVER without its head cover except when I am using it. And the shaft paint has worn off where it touches the dedicated putter slot in my PING bag. I am about as anal about caring for my clubs as anyone you'd ever meet, I use iron covers on every other iron. Other guys I play with ask me if my clubs are new, my Mizuno's are 5 years old and my W/S RM Midsize irons were 20 years old when I sold them - still pristine.
So when I buy another Evnroll, I'm staying with satin - my ER2 looked almost new when I sold it. FWIW, for anyone on the satin v black fence?
[If Evnroll has substantially changed their black process, by all means correct me.]
To be fair, this is similar wear you can expect to see on any black finished putter, especially if it not DLC finished. Same goes for black steel shafts.

Anyone else think a vokey K, cobra widelow tm bigfoot or pick your brand is really just an sgi wedge? The cbx and mack daddy added the cavity and look like an over priced sgi to me. Even more interesting, set lob wedges are really not sold anymore...coincidence or brilliant marketing?
Not sure of the bounces, but off set of both variants is small. I used to have a set lob wedge years ago and loved it out of the sand, but hated it everywhere else. I am wondering if there is more a correlation between the iron sole width you play vs handicap, swing plane, bounce or conditions that are often advertised.
Sole has nothing to do with handicap and everything to do with angle of attack and low point control.
Bounce is your friend and most amateurs are playing too little bounce. That is because most amateurs have poor low point control and are typically over the top. So yeah, wide sole wedges could really help an amateur, but not simply because they are "game improvement wedges".
My favorite Vokey grind is the 12D, which is 12 degrees of bounce which is pretty high. I am a low single digit handicap with really good hands and I love manipulating the face around the greens.
So why more bounce for me? Playing conditions. I often use my 58 from greenside rough and soft bunkers so the more bounce really helps me there. And I have no problem using it off tighter fairway lies either. I tried the M grind and struggle out of softer bunkers and deep rough.
There are plenty of PGA Tour players that are gaming the Vokey K, D and other "high bounce" wedges.
So what did I ramble on about? Bounce and sole width are not always a great indicator of GI/SGI. Do "GI" wedges tend to have more bounce and wider soles? Sure. They also have perimeter weighting which, to me, is the biggest indicator of a "GI " wedge. But simply states: Amateurs should always error on the side of MORE bounce
-
Most forgiving is relative - especially due to sole width and bounce. I would play more "forgiving" irons, but generally the bigger irons have wider soles and that is no bueno for a sweeper like me. Give me a thick soled iron and it is bottom groove city for me.

My 818H2 is the longest tenured club in my bag. Does literally everything I need. Left to right. Right to left. High. Low. 215. 235. Launch and spin on point.
If it ever breaks, I'll be looking straight towards whatever Titleist has out at the time.

Little over 40 degrees here in NJ today and I haven't touched a club in two months while I rested my ailing wrist. My dad called me Saturday and asked if I wanted to play on Monday and I said sure , why not.
Got some swings on some frozen range mats before the round and went to the first tee with zero expectations
Was 6 over through 7, then rattled off 3 straight birdies. Ended up shooting +5 75.
The swing felt great. The short game felt great. The putting felt as good as it could given the shaggy winter greens. But man, it felt good to get out there
We were paired with a great dude named Ryan and we talked about golf courses and local golf. Great company and I hope he will be joining the forum soon!

Welcome to the site -- great to see another NJ golfer on here!
MGS has often stated they don't like featuring smaller brands that cannot keep up with potential demands spikes that come from the extra exposure. This could be one of the main reasons why they have not gotten an play with MGS.
EDIT; I just check out our link and they seem EXTREMELY small, and every product on their website, including the ability to place a deposit/pre-order, is listed as "Sold Out"

The CBs are absolutely stunning. Not feeling the Cobra woods line this year, but they knocked these irons out of the park.

Clickbait titles drive me insane. Let the content speak for itself.
Finchy definitely does it, but it seems a bit more tongue-in-cheek to me than a blatant misleading.
Yeah Crossfield uses sarcastic click bait titles a lot and openly talks about how much he hates how predatory most golf instruction on YouTube is

Love Cobra, but this seems like as generic a release as you see from a major OEM. It seems extremely safe, which is very odd for Cobra. And I hate the switch to glossy finish

This was exactly like me. I would wait and be so excited for all the new videos he produced and relied heavily on his opinion. As my knowledge grew about the game of golf I slowly started ignoring more of his content and eventually unsubbed and actually got the point of asking youtube to ignore and not recommend his videos.
I am sure he is great for many, but at least for me I outgrew his content and as far as I know he has changed, but not to the attune that I would rejoin or entice me to watch again. Then add in the bit of "I'm too big for Pete" which may be harshly summarising, but was what was eluded to it is an even bigger turn off.
I stopped watching Rick about 2 or 3 years ago when he go into the clickbait game. Finch does it too (not as much), so I have since unsubscribed to them both. Nothing against them as people, but they wanted to take their content in a different direction, so took my viewership elsewhere.

I am taking a road trip this June 2023 with the first half of the trip with purpose. Driving from Oregon to lets call it Superior Wi, close enough. While in Northern Wi/MN I'll play a few rounds in that area. On my way back to OR I want to hit up a couple 3-4 rounds along the way. My route is from Superior, WI across MN into Fargo ND along 94 thru MT and hitting interstate 90 Billings, Butte, Missoula, Spokane, Tri Cities and then home to the wet side of oregon.
my question, Anyone know of played or have hidden gems that would be a good stop to take break play a round and move my way down the road??
Thanks folks

@Golfspy_Lukes is the Chipr making the 2023 bag?
That is TBD right now.
One thing the ChipR did for me was act as a training aid of sorts. It forced me to hit low chip shots with a specific stance and a specific grip which is something I've never been able to do.
I am contemplating play without the ChipR early in the season to see if I can get along with 13 clubs in the bag. If that works, I can see a driving iron in my future.

Just watched this today and Mark makes some really good points about fitting and lessons and how he feels they should be intertwined.
What do you all think? I think he makes some great points here and depending on you end goal we may be getting fit all wrong.
No Laying Up just posted their fitting from TPI and one of the things Soly kept saying was this was the first time he ever had a good fitting: One where it was education, fitting, and lessons all in one

To me, the perfect training aids not only tell you when you are doing something wrong, but also teach you how to do it right (ie. Tourstriker PlaneMate)

Unfortunately their claims are mostly full of nonsense.
If you poke around the internet you will see the company is shady, they reject any negative product reviews on their website, etc.
Over on WRX, Steadfast joined the forum and started badmouthing other shaft companies. It got to the point where Fujikura even responded to them and called them out.
Then a bunch of "new accounts" began joining the forum and positing on the thread with nothing but positive things to say about Steadfast -- clearly Steadfast employees or friends/family trying to help the company save face.
Don't waste your money

Unfortunately this is golf in the US. Cart fees are what keeps most courses in the black. Sounds like your club has everyone taking carts factored into their budget, so therefore they need to collect that money from walkers as well so they meet their projected cash flow numbers.
My least favorite part about golf courses in the US is the reliance on golf carts

2023 Evnroll V Series Putter Lineup
in Golf Clubs
Posted
I understand why Evnroll went to weights - it really reduces your operating costs when you cut the number of different heads you need to mill by nearly 2/3rds, but I wish they looked different. As they are, they almost look like "prototype" heads where they were experimenting with adding weight ports, but hadn't finalized the asethetics. I know you never look at the bottom of the club at address, but it could potentially be a shelf appeal issue for prospective buyers.
I do love the new squared off bumpers of the ER2. I don't like that they moved away from the Rocker sole; it really helped me set the putter behind the ball square. Surprised they took the ER1v (guess it would be EV1 in their new naming system) out of their lineup
