  1. I have an SC200. Before I retired from clubfitting, I had a Flightscope. Terrific product and the best customer service.
  2. Interesting concept. Looking for anything to aid my setup
  3. I was at the tournament camped out pin high on the 17th hole. I could not believe what I saw when Sam Burns elected to hit his ball off the rocks and wound up handing the tournament to Dunlap. I have yet to find any write up about that hole and what he was thinking. Anyone else care to comment?
  4. Interesting observations and review. I too have been playing a Ping G425. I completely agree with all your assessments of the Maxvert. The one difference for me, I had an aftermarket Oban shaft put into my Ping and play it to a 44.5” length, so, when I tried it, it really was very close to an “apples to apples” comparison. My Maxvert was returned.
  5. I tried the Arccos sensors when Ping ran a promo to get a set if you bought a Ping club. While not a fan of the subscription model, what I really hated was the bad information I was collecting. The sensors do not take into account half shots, knock downs or bump and runs while they are collating the data. I use a variety of clubs from off the green so when I would check my distances on the app, my “average’” 7 iron, for example, was going 120 yards. Same held for the rest of my scoring clubs. Classic case of garbage in, garbage out.
  6. I would take a close look at the Edison Wedges. Terry Koehler, aka “The Wedge Guy”, has been designing wedges for us mere mortals forever. His specific grind and design should make it much easier for you to choose and use.
  7. I had a melanoma the size of a quarter on my head. I don’t care what I look like. I wear buckets and wide brim hats with spf 50 protection everywhere.
  8. I’ve never hit a bad shot into a net. I also never did any client fittings indoors. I need to see the ball flight in addition to the data. Anecdotally, I retired from clubfitting 8 years ago. I went to get personally fit at Club Champions. Indoors. I was not at all happy with the irons that were specked out after playing with them for 2 months. Wound up going back and they remade them with different shafts. Better, but still not right. Never again will I do an indoor fitting.
  9. I tried it with very disappointing results. It came back with the exact Driver/Shaft I was gaming. So basically, I paid for nothing. When I wrote to ask about this anomaly I was told “Aren’t you glad it affirms what you are using?” Um, no, I tried it because I can’t hit it worth s***. It affirmed nothing. PS, went to a Ping G425 max with excellent results. Thanks for nothing TGF.
  10. There are ZERO standards in golf shafts. One manufacturers regular could be another manufacturers stiff. Felt OK is a recipe for disaster. Unless you are properly fit by a reputable club fitter, you will get more disasters. Just a question of what magnitude.
  11. Club Champion is going to make you happy. That’s what professional fitters do. If there’s an issue with the shafts being too light, then they’ll put you into a heavier shaft. That said, the question still remains as to why the fitting seemed fine but reality shows otherwise. One significant factor that occurs in situations like this is the fact that you were fit indoors. Many, not all, but a high enough percentage of individuals swing differently indoors. I’ve seen it hundreds of times. That’s why I used to only fit outdoors. You have your “natural” swing in that environment AND you can actually see the ball flight. You sound like one that would benefit from an outdoor fitting. IMHO.
  12. Easy one for me. If I make a par, it’s usually if I managed to one putt. I use this name for all the golf sites I go to as it was always available!
  13. Iron length has little correlation to your height and is more predicated on your wrist to floor measurement as arm length varies on everyone. I had a guy who was well over 6’3” tall but his arms were so long, he needed 1” shorter! The irons mat very well be the proper length BUT it sounds like the lie angles were left alone. Adding the inch changes the specs enough so that could be the reason you’re hitting them fat. Get them checked first, see if it makes a difference. If not, your fitter blew it.
  14. I still use either a 5 or 7 wood but have replaced my 4-6 irons with hybrids. Works for me.
  15. Not my style, not my price point. To each his own.
  16. Cobra makes a great starter set, excellent quality. Pretty sure it’s available LH.
  17. I tried their app for a driver when I was starting to lose my love for my gamer. It came back with the exact setup I was playing! When I contacted them to complain I was told I should be happy that their software affirmed my setup as the best. PS, I’ve moved on rather quickly to a different driver/shaft. Waste of money.
  18. I’m gaming their 3 wood. Perfect amount of forgiveness and equally awesome to tee off with on tighter holes. Big fan.
  19. I found a 3 pack of Cabrera leather gloves at Costco for 14.99. Unbelievable value! Great glove.
