  3. Use to carry a v-series heavenwood w/ an Aldila NV. Tried to use it as my “Henrik” club. But alas it spun to much, and discovered my g30 hybrid. But could hit that v-series ultra straight and even hit a few bump and runs leading to tap-ins. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  4. Greatly enjoying the Bridgestone B RX. This ball, oddly enough was under my radar. Plays similar to a pro 1x lite, but with pro v1 trajectory. Ample spin, good, moderate click and had made my game just a bit more competitive. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  5. I usually stick with SS. Love flatso and the newish gtr Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  6. Possibly a ping nome or ketch... if I can find one! Maybe a SS gtr grip for current putter. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  7. Had a set of X-12 pro series irons w/ rifle shafts. Loved them to death, but wore them out. Loving current g30 irons, but still think about those x-12s. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  8. Howdy and welcome from a fellow Texan Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  9. Tinkered with putting grip. Alternated on practice green between double overlap and the pencil grips. Settled on double overlap, with putter position parallel with center line, and ball just ahead of stance. Also practiced hooded 64* chips. Lipped out a few and had some tap-ins. Now, hope it works on course. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  10. FJ Tour-S to replace my gen 1 DNAs. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  11. Finally got out yesterday to play the nine course adjacent to the main course (lacked daylight to play main course). Shot +2 thought first nine, including a birdie on three. Finished on 13/ hole 4 in total 4 over. Love my new to me G30s, easy off the tee, sweet from fairway. Still tinkering with putter grip; practicing pencil and double overlap. Good time and only paid $9. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  12. LOVE the original/retro Lamkin Crossline. Perfect combination of tack, size, and feel. Plus, easy to tell when they need cleaning or replacing. They out live my contemptuous and vexed mind, (by changing irons, long before their day is due, as a tinkerer does). As a side note, wanted to try superstroke, but alas, changed irons to g30s, from my xhots pros with fairly new looking crosslines. Ć est la vie. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  13. Barren dirt, predominantly hard packed topped with pine needles, 10-12 yd chip/lob. This usually occurs when I overshoot greens. This is why I put a premium on either short/ green side or pin high, plus importance on finding fairways or first cut. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  14. Used to carry 3 and 4 hybrid (both xr). Now I just carry a ping g30 19* w/ tour shaft. It has made me focus on hitting 4 iron better, though not always perfect. You could carry as many hybrids as you want. Look at various LPGA players, They play what works for them, in conjunction with their distance gapping, which is a priority. 15. As others have said Ben Hogan's five lessons works extremely well (especially if you overlap grip, but still works for interlock); and Penick's red book for justification and acts as a quick reference. I personally recommend, Nick Faldo‘ A Swing for Life. Instruction is simplified, well written, and he explains little nuances in great detail. Also, Leadbetter's Positive Practice is a quick and understandable read, ( as opposed to the A Swing, which sounds a lot like stack and tilt). I'd also recommend Phil's Secrets of the Short Game, but only the chipping, pitching, and bunker play. The putter section lacks a bit of luster. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  18. Ping g30 19* 3 hybrid. Am able to vary my ball flight easily, from any lie. Heck, sometimes putt with it. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. I know being a playing club professional, even a minor tour pro is extremely tough. My instructor here in TX was Illinois state champ many moons ago. Locally, when his game is on, scratch golfer, there's no way of beating him. However, further along into Southwest regionals with unfamiliar courses or lack of prep, he shoots what I shoot locally, often high 70s, (low 80s of putter goes). Still a superb teacher, and overall nice guy, tried going to mini tours, but I digress. There is a bit of a standard, because “we” as interested golfers, occasionally get quick, instant swing advice or buying tips via YouTube professionals. In a pinch, they serve as quick gratifiers, and extra enforcement, even though they have never seen or heard us. Those like Shiels, Crossfield and the like implore proper swing/ technique, and fitting are highly coveted over branding. Their swings are robotic when testing, so if they shoot poor, the internet public questions them. Probably just thought too much about being pro, than playing like one. The mind, she is very fickle. 20. I'd like to see another CG location test, in conjunction with MOI. Love to see where g400/max stacks up to TM m3/4. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  21. Is some “tour” stuff custom, highly coveted, and very very limited in production?Sure. However if an item becomes quite popular, then we, the buying public get access to it. Few examples include, the TW Vr tour 10.5 driver and the TW Vapor driver. Remember Bubba's pink driver? Also some tour clubs are full of lead tape, excess weighted ports, and welds, ie Adam Scott's putter. Not very shelf appealing. Remember the PM grind? Sure, started out as “tour only”, then more people took notice, and BOOM, on market. Phew, now to the heart, 2irons are very rare with more consumers using either hybrids, driving irons, or 5/7 woods. One is questioning ability, but 2iron is a very rare request nowadays. The demand just isn't there any more, plus the notion of replacing a 2iron wasn't even conceived in early sets. Thus pings, I think last “offered” 2iron was in the i3 series? Hybrids were still in the experimental stage and usually scoffed at by Tour level players. If demand/request on a item is heavy, then companies usually cater to the public. 23. Callaway Sure Out 64*... Honestly my bunker play last year reeked...Hope it works on hardpan. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  24. I carry only one, a 19* that I use mainly for a 215-220yd par 3. Used carry 5 wood, then 21* 4 iron. Using hybrid is a acquired taste, but gradually it becomes your best buddy. I tried using a x-utility proto, but for my swing, it only worked off the tee. Hence me getting a g30 19*. Use what suits your swing and what you feel confident in. Best of luck. 25. Have a friend who custom ordered a center shaft wide blade putter from Slighter Golf. Said experience was second to none. They also do refinishings and estimates. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
