  1. Played a nice Executive course today with my Grandparents as their first time out for the year. Just nine holes but it was very relaxed we played rather quickly for a 3-some. I played well at +4 with only 3 “bad” shots. Two of which can be attributed to me not paying attention. All in all I would say I had a good round and ball striking with the new swing changes is really starting the click! Hope Everyone is getting out and Staying Safe! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  2. I used to work a Cazenovia Park Golf Course for 5 years during college, I’m sure we’ve crossed paths before. Good to see more Buffalo guys on here. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  3. I did my certification through the NASM golf fitness program just because I was also taking my Certified Personal Trainer certification through them as well, but from what I’ve seen of the two programs they are extremely similar with a lot of the differences being in the wording and references they use. 4. Love little projects like this! Now I just have to find an old X-stiff shaft to cut up Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  5. This is my hometown and I can say that this would greatly increase the ability of players in the area to practice and get others to enjoy the game of golf. When I originally saw the video it was on Facebook and Instagram but I’m very excited for something like this to be in the city. Gets the company and the game of golf out in front of people. 6. I agree. I’m a strength coach by trade and do private sessions focusing on golf fitness. Often times if you can get your glutes and hip flexors to loosen up, the pain will subside. The next thing I would look at is your mid back (thoracic spine). These two things when tight or out of alignment can cause severe back pain. Feel free to PM me if you have more questions Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  7. Delaware is just too far for me but I would love to get to get her with some guys and play. It’s tough to have a consistent group with my schedule Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  8. As a golf specific trainer I’m glad to see more and more people getting involved in the fitness side of their game. It can unlock so much potential and for many will make the sport so much more enjoyable while helping them to play longer with less fatigue! Great job guys and keep that determination! 9. I’ve only ever had one putter and it’s an original Ping PAL. That’s not to say that I haven’t thought about buying a mallet style before but the only other profile that has caught my attention is the Tommy Armor Impact #3. I’ve played around with it a little bit at stores but it never seemed to look square to the ball for some reason. Really interested in other people’s perception of this and wondering if I’m the only one with this experience? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  10. Shot the first 18 hole score for the year today with 83. Picking up right where I left off last year and making that handicap drop. Also had a combination of two 9’s score of 81. This year should be good!! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  11. I been playing golf consistently for about 4 years after my grandfather first taught me how to play when I was little. My current handicap is 14 and I would love to see that drop to 10 by the end of this year. I love the challenge it presents with the balance of precision and power but also the camaraderie between fellow golfers I originally can to MGS to gain a greater understanding behind the game and maybe catch a few tips to help lower my scores and further enjoy the game. Sadly I don’t really know any other Spies. I’m from Buffalo NY, and play many different places. Usually between Attica CC and Cazenovia Park GC for my home courses. My trade is strength and conditioning, mainly for athletes but I also work with kids and adults. I recently finished a certification in Golf Fitness that I’m start to apply in my own workouts and seeing some great results. My username is nothing fancy, just my name and some numbers but it’s always been the same. P.S. I would love to meet some of you and play a couple rounds if at all possible. Love playing new courses with good people. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  12. Yesterday was 50 and calm in western New York. It also marked the first day this year I got out on the local municipal course and hit off of real grass. Only got to play 5 holes but it was enough to get a sense of real golf after hitting off of Turf indoors all winter. Hopefully the full season is just around the corner! 13. The only thing Titleist is really missing from their line up is a game improvement or super game improvement set of irons but with their success and notoriety in the world of quality irons I don’t think that’s something they will or should try to add. In my opinion the players in this category of golf won’t benefit from the name on a club so whether it is Titleist or Top Flight I’m not sure it really matters. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  14. Recently got my handicap down to 14 from 24 and my current irons (Wilson Di-11) don’t really suit my game anymore. I’ve been thinking about ordering a set of Ben Hogan PTx irons with similar loft numbers to the Wilson in order to maintain most of the distance but gain a lot more feel and workability. Please send your thoughts Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  15. Played yesterday for the first time at a new track in the area and it started out really rough. As the round went on things started to come together. On 17, par 3 190yrds into wind I hit a beautiful pure 4 iron with a tiny draw to about 10 feet. It wasn't super close but it was exactly the shot I wanted to hit and it gave me a lot of confidence for the rounds to come. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  16. I really appreciate all the fees back guys and would have to say that I am interested in the tech side of the industry as far as things like EVNROLL for their proven consistency. However, I currently use an original Ping PAL with a super stroke mid slim 2.0 grip. Keep the feedback coming! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  17. The main thing I wanted to talk about here (and I'm sure I have more questions than answers) is face technology on putters. Most of the big name club manufacturers come out with a slew of putters every year featuring their newest groove and insert tech that is supposed to help the player roll a putt easier and with more consistency then ever. My biggest questions on this are 1) How much proof do they have that their tech works with real players? 2) if it does work then why do some of the most notable tour players still use 20 year old putters? 3) Would having the same putter with different face groove patterns and inserts be able to help your players depending on the course conditions they play in? Feel free to leave your opinions below, I would love to hear what everyone has to say. P.S if I'm wrong, feel free to tell me Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
