dbdors reacted to zengineer in Golf Grips
I ordered some GP Align from a large seller on Ebay. They look and perform fine but the price tells me they have to be counterfeit and I don't want to risk being part of the problem just to save a few dollars. I've gone back to just ordering direct from GP. Last set came with a nice free towel.

If the prices are cheaper than legit outfits then they are fakes. Lots of fakes of the MCC grips.

dbdors got a reaction from Rob Person in DIY Push assist cart
Just looking at the controller and the front wheel, my guess is he used an old electric scooter where the motor is integrated in the wheel. In hindsight that would be pretty easy to do. Basically bolt up the wheel in the swivel, run a wire and mount the controller and then 20-40 volts from the DeWalt batteries.
Even if you wanted to buy new, there are a ton of wheels with controllers only on AliExpress

dbdors got a reaction from William P in Torque adjustment tool
Again, I've had several Callaway tools and they all clicked. But if its a torque tool, the tension should at least "slip" when the torque is reached, even if there is no audible click. If it does not slip, then its not a torque tool or the tool is defective.

Whats wrong with the actual Callaway tool? I have a black Callaway tool and it clicks.

GP has pretty good control of their prices with retail accounts for current skus, so these grips at less than half of retail shipped directly from China are almost certainly fake.

I have the original Nike Air Hybrid version of this bag, and I like it a lot.

Does that include putts (long and short) as well. I still use the the original Link. Great for full swing shots, but it still misses a lot of putts, especially short putts.

I have not had any issues with missed putts using the Link Pro (as much as I wish it did on some holes!!!). I am using the new Smoke Smart Sensors with my Link Pro...

The Link Pro is awesome!!! Stick it in your pocket and forget it. I've not missed a shot with it in the 5 rounds I've played with it so far. I personally can't stand wearing a watch while I play (and I'm on Samsung...), this was a no-brainer. Downside, you need your watch or phone to look-up yardages etc... there is no display on the LP.

dbdors got a reaction from JFish350 in Best electric push cart?
Sure, the Motocaddy M7 remote may not work very well, I have no experience with it. But that is not true for all brands. I have only used the The Club Booster V2 with my Clicgear 4 and front swivel kit. The remote is not too sensitive, it is very smooth and with the gyro the cart tracks straight, up hill, down hill and side hill. I can let it move out in front of me several or many feet. I hate having to walk "under the cart with my hands on it". As I said before, I have long legs and big feet! and I hate being "under the cart". I use my remote 100% of the time, and practically cant use the cart without it (unless you use the TFS or Sidekick). I don't have to keep pace with it, it can move out in front as much as it wants. The wheels have 6 speeds and I can walk as fast or slow as I want. I can send the cart ahead, I can move it behind me to take a shot and then let it catch up. It simply works well.

dbdors got a reaction from Nick_D in Any tips for someone looking to regrip their own clubs
You don't need a big expensive compressor. A simple tire inflator will work. Or a cheap harbor freight compressor. I have a large compressor for woodworking, etc. But I have this one that I use at boat storage for tires : https://www.harborfreight.com/air-tools-compressors/air-compressors-tanks/3-gallon-13-hp-110-psi-oil-free-hot-dog-air-compressor-57572.html It will do the job for gripping for sure. They go on sale from time to time. And I got mine in the bargain bin for $30 I believe. It just had a leaking fitting. A little Teflon tape and it was fixed.
I like blow on for the simplicity to remove and install. I used solvent for years. I finally got sick of removing the old double sided tape each time I needed new grips. Or If I needed to work on a club and reuse the grip (did this often trying various putter grips. It is just so much easier. I can blow off a grip and add a second layer of build up tape and test it out. If I don't like it, I can blow it off, remove the tape and put it back on.

If you can find somebody who can sew, it’s not so bad to make your own. My mom made these with some scraps, but you can get fabric for real cheap online. Having something one of a kind, and made by someone close to you is really nice.

dbdors reacted to ChiefMikeOfficer in Center shafted putters
LAB is a game changer - surprising results, even when not actually getting fit for the putter (my next move might be a fitting to see if it can get even better). They're pricey, but if you know rough specs, you can scan through their outlet to see if you can find one cheaper (lots of demos in there, but the one I bought seems like it was a cancelled custom order or proto or something, because it came brand new).
Center shaft in general: always liked it. One of my favorite putters back in HS/College was a Never Compromise Sub 30 CS blade (used it so much I wore out the insert). SeeMore always felt good when trying them out, but never actually put one in the bag.

It is funny, I have a lot of expensive classic Scotty's, that look and feel beautiful. And I just ordered a new Lab golf DF3 putter.....my rationale is anything that will save me strokes on the course is worth the investment and worth trying. I don't have the putter yet, so who knows how it will perform against my Scotty's but why not try.....?
