  1. When the one-legged QB is AR... There is always hope. For some reason the Bears D didn't have an answer in the second half.
  2. I thought the same thing. Most of my friends are Lions and Viking fans. They are always hoping rodgers goes out with injury. Then AR walks out of the tunnel in the 2nd half - the second coming - leads the team to victory in an incredible come back! Bears D could have snuffed us out if they managed to catch that interception off that deflected ball. I guess that guy is playing CB instead of WR for a reason. Go Pack!
  3. Should be a good game tonight - cheering for eagles! Too much history with the Falcons being a Packers fan
  4. KC is easy to get to from central IA (much shorter drive than N MN). Any suggestions?
  5. The 2 giants ridge courses look great. Might work out if we could find a nice course to play in the Minneapolis area on the drive up.
  6. Trying to organize a golf trip for next summer and look for suggestions in any state that borders Iowa. Wisconsin - whistling straights / erin hills might be an option Missouri - big cedar lodge and surrounding ozark area has been getting huge press lately with a lot of big name design courses. Of course, also not trying to break the bank with this trip either so if you can recommend some hidden gems that would be welcome too.
  7. The less money a QB takes, the more money there is to build the team. Brady cares more about winning and leaving a legacy—which is already in place. The millionaire wife also helps him sleep at night.
  8. A lot depends on when the contract was negotiated. Brady was the highest paid QB for a nanosecond and then Manning's contract came along. That was years ago though. Heck, Stafford for the Lions used to be the highest paid QB until Rodgers. The salaries just tend to get inflated every year. In fact, I would place a lot of the recent QB salary inflation at the feet of Brock Osweiller and the Texans—a ludicrous contract on an untested QB. But as txgolfjunkie points out above, let's not shed too many tears for old Tom, especially since he plays for the... (derisively and with disgust)... Patriots. In 'merica?
  9. Badges aside, a big round of applause for the pictures posted in the main article. I don't know if sometimes MGS is only provided with pictures and can't take their own, but the angles shown in this article were perfect. A look at address, of the face, from behind, down the toe. Not all of these angles are often shown in a product announcement or first look, but I am hoping they become standard for MGS. I have a much better idea of how the product will look in hand. Please continue the great work.
  10. I have seen a lot of different angles - hasn't changed my impression. I am also not a big fan of badges in general—steel only for me. I wonder what it would look like without it (although I do get that badges are often added to correct sound/feel). And should we start the murky pontification now? Do you think Brooks will game it? Do yah? Do yah?
  11. I think the tours look fantasitic - very mizuno. The badges on the other models look kind of flimsy to me. I'm sure they will stay in place, but there is something about the way they look that makes me thing they come lose and rattle—can't explain it.
  12. I'm not too quick to denigrate the Browns this year as blackngold said. The Steelers are the only team in their division who poses a credible threat and they can run hot and cold. (Part of the reason I love the NFL so much, teams can change year to year so unexpectedly. It's why, despite my hate for NE, I have to respect what they have accomplished.) Plus, you guys may be forgetting the most important piece of the Browns team. They picked up Jeff Janis from the packers on special teams. Difference maker—partially serious.
  13. I have love for the Packers and I am also hoping AR is due for a solid season. A big issue with the Pack is that, despite their offensive guns, our defense has been really bad (slow). I have been calling for years for an overhaul of the D. Our weak defense causes Rodgers to try to do too much. We fired the D-coordinator and made bunch defensive picks in the draft. Here is hoping we can at least have a serviceable defense to support the offense.
  14. Wanna play like Tiger, gotta wipe your clubs like Tiger
  15. This is only marginally off-topic, but I try to watch this clip every year. I have a good friend who is a Jets fan so it helps me understand his psychological state. https://jetswire.usatoday.com/2016/01/31/the-biggest-draft-busts-in-new-york-jets-history/ My favorite... 1st round pick selects... Full back (OH NOOOOO). Marino and Sapp were pretty good too.
  16. I will just echo what has been said. Find an experienced club builder and take your set to them. You never know, ordering new shafts isn't that expensive of an option (if need be).
  17. You guys hang on to Eddie Lacy? I really wish he would do well. So much potential - so much body mass
  18. Not really a fan of drafting RBs that high (Barkley went #2). That said, his body type kind of reminds me of barry sanders. The potential run and pass threat for the giants could be potent, and Eli is a sneaky winner.
  19. Lions always look promising... Until December
  20. What is taking those mods so long with the dislike button!! I actually can't hate to hard on the Pats (I lived in bean town for 5 year). As a fan of the sport, I have to admire what they have been able to do to string together consecutive years of competitive teams. They always find a way to make it work. Why can't the Packers do that!?!?!
  21. Mods, please add a dislike button (Barbajo would never go for it )
  22. I can't wait for the season to start! Just hoping for the Packers to put together a winning season. Packers fans are spoiled brats, I will admit, but come one - Rodgers needs to win before the lights of his career go out! Interestingly about player health and longevity mentioned above... I was speaking with a few former college players and a lot of them are switching to ketogenic diets to help with the inflammation and cognitive stress of playing competitive ball. It is all anecdotal at this stage but it was interesting to hear how bought in this particular group was.
  23. Yes, and putters too. I wonder if they could eventually work in some iPING putting app data into dialing in your chosen putter. According to the theory of TGF, they would match your iPING stats to a putter that was successful for someone with your iPING stats. Big data - they has it
  24. I agree completely and will cop to being one of the shaft commentators. My only defense is that I was coming from more of a gear head perspective and wondering how the tool would work for folks in which shaft options do matter more than others (i.e. early release, abrupt tempo). But I agree that TGF is a great tool for the majority—not the sick obsessives who frequent this forum. Also have to give kudos to the design/layout of the TGF site. They nailed it in terms of usability and navigation. It feels like a slick product which is so important for the casual golf audience. As an amateur HTMLer, I was jealous.
  25. No?!?! I never would have guessed.
