  1. Thx! Actually planning on going to @Preeway July meet-up in Nebraska - includes Wild Horse which from just looking at the short flyover vid made me want to go!! But yeah would like to check out courses in SD sometime, too .. parts of that state look pretty nice for a visit! @Shank Aaron - Engineers is outside Roslyn NY in Nassau County and not too far from me. Is that May 8th? Do you know if they allow spectators? Anyway course has some crazy elevation changes and obstacles .. def do your homework on it in advance!
  2. So after reading your review I went and ordered a pair of the Rivet with the Enliven Golf lens. Did a custom order to get the black frame with that lens and, interestingly, from the look of the order confirmation, it comes in separate pieces as a pair of lenses, the frame, a pair of ear pads .. so a small bit of "some assembly required" maybe? Hoping they magically enable me to better track my ball ... on my not so hugely long shots ... but yeah the old eyes ain't what they used to be...
  3. Hahaha well Happy HAPPY Happy Mr GolfSpy Sam!!! #whatevertherealnumberis #whocaresanyway #aslongasyouarehealthyandhappy Cent Anni ..and yeah dude only women are allowed to be "39" for as long as they think they can pull it off...
  4. That's a bold move going "NFL" = No F***ing Logo!! But seriously very chill looking iron heads! Enjoy this one Spy-Clubbuilders!
  5. Well just as those weather people .. (can't say weather 'man' anymore not just PC but some of the meteorologists on TV .. at least around here on the channel my wife watches in the morning .. are female and kinda hot and one is like a fitness model and the other won some state beauty pageant in the past) .. so just as they said it's wet and grey and dreary here today... Good day for some indoor exercise and indoor practice - maybe fire up the ExPutt and work on some longer putts, and maybe whack a few into the garage net working on pressure shift and hands/wrists coming into and at impact. Looking forward to the intriguing testing opportunity announcement and to the community call later! Followed by, of course, happy hour and maybe date night with my honey Hope y'all make it a great day .. with whatever it has in store for you!!!
  6. Good info, thx. And don't know why .. trying to support the economy late at night while sitting on the couch .. just ordered a pair of Rivet with the Enliven golf lenses... Online shopper tip: check the Web for any promo codes - found one for -50% off and it worked!
  7. A few years ago I joined a private club .. to be able to play almost on demand, and to practice whenever I wanted .. and, yeah, there's a dress code .. and, yeah, I think it could be be a *little* more relaxed... For example, I like to go untucked everywhere. I wear nice polos but still don't understand the insistence on being to be tucked in on the course. Another example .. women like to wear leggings, but those are considered athletic wear and so not allowed. OTOH the dress code (whatever it actually is) at this club appears to me to be inconsistent - e.g. you'll see guys out there with large, colorful NFL or MLB team logos emblazoned across the chest... Anyway first world problems and we're kinda committed to staying/playing there for the time being .. so "it is what it is"!
  8. Right now it's an Aldila Ascent PL Blue (40/A); self-selected after participating in the Otto-Phlex Experiment from which I was happy using a Grafalloy Pro Launch Blue (45/A).
  9. Mine is just like that, and I think it's currently hiding out in that super fancy Bettinardi Custom fitting studio
  10. Partly the phone cam lens .. at the end of the tall fences, maybe about 205ish yds, it's about 50 yds across .. so yeah very good trying to hit "fairways" practice! hah! HAHA!! ..we'll see what happens when we get there, but I appreciate the vote of confidence!
  11. LOVE Black Labs!! ..but my guy, in his prime and even into his later years, would *not* be just looking at the yummy tasty treats very nearby within easy reach...
  12. Well heck if there's too much extra space in your garage I can send you some of my junk Umm yeah, that sounds like a one way suicide mission to me Theory: that person is a "plant" playing a psychopath for the professor to see how the rest of the students react So you mean like at RNK when you'll say to me - "shoot ya'll your golfin ball headed off yonder past the hollah and went way back in there with the brambles and them ticks" ... in that case, yes I will know exactly what you're talkin about Just keep in mind after "Independence Day" it's all billable consulting time Man seems like you've had a run of bad luck lately... Sorry to hear and hopefully that turns around for you!
  13. There is at least one vet @EasyPutter who does, but he's wau up in upstate NW New York.
  14. gm all on that middle of the week day!! So far sun is shining here, tho a bit cooler than yesterday. But hey ya know the weather does what -it- wants Heading out for another Chiro checkup/adjustment - gotta say between this and acupuncture .. well and yoga & stretching, steady exercise, some of those @GolfSpy_KFT mobility movements, a beer or two on the evenings .. my back is usually doing much better vs past few years! And hopefully continued to hold up though the multiple, multi-day golf trips coming up over this season... Hope everyone else is doing well ... get out there and make it a great (you know what ) day!!
  15. Did some random length putting practice for distance control; then over to the range to work on... .. wedges and distance control; irons working on better contact and wrist action thru impact (also checking out JumboMax grips, see User Group thread under Equipment > Shafts, Grips); hit a few hybrids off a short tee and a few drivers... Who needs foot spray when you have old range balls Haha but all of these did stay inside the right side fence, tho a few would have been in trouble on the course... Also, while working on irons, remembered something from lessons two or so years ago that I don't think i was doing properly anymore = keep the back to the target sitting transition and the start of the downswing... Started getting better contact after that. And then back to the practice green to roll a few more. But, as always - work in progress!!
  16. Oh... Yeah was taking about the watch; I haven't seen how Connex works. But you'll figure something out!
  17. Good Morning y'alls!! (..see we Yankees don't know whether "y'all" is already plural or needs the "s" ) Ahh had two better than average nights of sleep back to back - kinda Spring like temps here and eat able to keep bedroom windows open overnight. So feeling relaxed before my walk to acupuncture .. and then I'll be relaxed for the walk back, too... .. so with all that relaxation maybe I'll have to go hit some golf balls (but really before the weather turns to rain again). Hope y'all have a Terrific Tuesday!! Oh @Preeway - for putting have you tried Manual mode on the ShotScope? I find it worked better for me .. worked it into my setup to the ball; eg just before making the stroke I'd pause, tap the watch to mark the location, make the stroke. .. And then remember to do the Pin Collect!! (so how many times have you had to run back to the last green )
  18. Played 9 yesterday (so far have 3 x 9 hole rounds plus 3 x 9 practice rounds) and am happy to report there's been some progress - overall scoring still high but trending down (well at least for now ) - 52, 51, 48. Got off the tee ok (Par 4s and 5s) .. with the help of two lucky tree saves that dropped the ball in a playable position on 8 and 9... .. and short game was ok - starting to get a little less tentative on chipping & pitching, and starting to get a little better distance control on the first putts. But, except for one solid 6i where I hit the green from 150 (yay!), almost everything else in-between tee to green was messy (boo!) and needs a lot more work... Chunked, thinned or topped a lot of second and third shots, including the Par 3s...
  19. Just got my first pair of Adidas with BOA; have only had them out for one round so far. Likes... Easy on, super quick and easy off Quick and easy adjustment mid-round Dislikes... Usually.. with laces .. I like to keep the forefoot looser than the arch and heel Might be just first time break-in but these kept loosening on me as I was playing (but otoh just a quick twist to adjust) On this particular model - nothing to do with the BOA mechanism - but the tongue could be wider .. it kept slipping out from under the sneaker itself and I could feel the edge pushing on the top of my arch (again otoh easy to adjust and fix). So whether this is first & last, or first of many more, for me is TBD
  20. Hey fur therapy is a real thing!! According to an analysis by the NIH of other studies... "The BP lowering effect is especially evident during direct contact with the pet." And this from Harvard Medical School... "Several studies show that blood pressure goes down when a person pets a dog." .. gotta love science!!
  21. Yeah great article, thx!! Also appreciate the short sample vid plus the bullet point Do's & Don'ts .. have it bookmarked for quick reference PS: peanut M&M's are a weakness
  22. Too bad you had those hassles... It actually is a very functional launch monitor with sim play capabilities. Amazon returns are usually pretty easy - go thru "Your Orders" and then look for a drop-off location near you (UPS or FedEx store). Perhaps things have changed since GolfTec bought them out. And yes it does require an Internet connection to check your software license. And it is possible to use the unit in basic practice range mode with no subscription.
  23. And a hopefully Happy Monday to you! (..despite it being Tax Day.....) Slept in a bit this morning, guess I needed a little extra sack time, and now sitting out back enjoying the sun and warmth .. but not enjoying the omnipresent spring-to-fall suburban sounds of leaf blowers... Played an ok 9 holes yesterday .. things seem to trending in a good direction (well.. for now at least ) .. and got back home to catch the last few groups on the Back 9. Looked like there were gonna be a few challenges for Scottie's lead, but .. wow .. talk about keeping your cool and hitting the shots So nothing special or urgent here today - taxes were done and paid - so maybe a little house cleaning and look at something else sitting on the old To Do list. Maybe Have a good one!!
  24. Happy day people!! Had a good practice sesh yesterday - enhanced by an onslaught of a bit of Scottish weather, but I took that as a positive sign from Ye Olde Golf Gods Heading for 9 a little later with my honey .. mostly clear and slightly cool temp, with a manageable level of wind. Enjoy the day everyone!! If you haven't seen it check out the "Otto-Phlex" thread... https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/53310-shaft-hack-the-otto-phlex-journey/ The basic idea is to test out lighter and flexier shafts, eg say you play 70X now you'd try a 50A. Didn't work out for some people but for a majority, it seems .. including me .. it was very literally a game changer!! Looked like a truly awesome event, unfortunately just a minutes outside of an easy drive for me (plus we had dinner guests last night). Glad it worked out so well!! Yyyessss!! See? Just talking about a new exercise and diet program has already shown benefits Keep up the good work man!! Very nice!! Next time go out with a clear, focused, "present" mind and look out course record!!
  25. If there's a delay during the front or back 9, I do one or more of... Sit on the seat on my push cart and look off to the side of the course and just daydream; Pretend I'm a 10 year old boy (not very hard really ) and just let my attention jump around from thing to thing around me; Grab an extra ball and a wedge and work on small chips. If there's a lineup / delay at the turn I'll take the glove off and... go hit the restroom (whether I have to go or not); check out the snack bar (whether I'm hungry or not); check messages or emails on my phone; maybe roll a few putts as the practice green is right there. So in either case it's all about keeping yourself "busy" / engaged with something else .. distracted from / not stressing about the delay!!
