  1. Really enjoyed and got a lot out of his first book! I don't play competitively, but i'm sure I'll get value from his second book, too!!
  2. Great article! But.. there's one important medical angle that wasn't discussed...
  3. Check out the MGS .. main site .. testing - they've looked at those models, and others in that price range, and they offer a lot of evaluation and metrics to help you decide...
  4. Journaling something like this, along with your commitment and your great attitude?? You *ARE* gonna get there!! And I truly wish you the best - as I am on pretty much the same quest - ie anywhere in the 90s last year .. and looking to limit my mistakes and (expletive deleted)-ups and focus on a better, stronger mental and strategic game .. and hopefully start to play more often in the 80s... Let's Do This!!!
  5. YESSSS!!!! Tom for National Golf Czar / Supreme Director of All Domestic Golf Operations & Procedures
  6. Yes, but ... $131.45 for the starter set at the current exchange rate
  7. oh yeah... My town has two traffic circles that are directly north-south from each other along the same pretty busy road and only about 1/4 mile apart... The first one put in is actually a little smaller so occasionally someone will miss the radius either too tight or too wide. And yes - I see many "C" car drivers!!!
  8. No idea about those but sometimes the head weight between mens vs ladies club heads can differ... If you have a digital scale you may want to double check them when you get them?
  9. @MattWillGolf dunno but kinda looks like that cute furry snuggler has maybe kinda "adopted" you... Your wife and you are good people. (.. my wife and I would be the complete "fail" people as in wanting to keep any pup we had in our house .. and I mean like ALL the pups!...) @tdc1 great pic! So cute when big dogs get cozy with their toys! (..mine! ..mine mine mine...) @GolfSpy AFG good info and I can see the benefits .. buuut .. if I plunge into 40s degree water I'm wearing a 5mm wetsuit with a hood and probably a thermal layer underneath, 7mm booties with thermal socks and 5 or 7mm gloves or mitts!!!
  10. She is a friggin trooper!! It's all just prep for the Kingsmill trip where she's gonna shame at least half, I'm guessing, of us guys ... Wishing you both the best
  11. Good Morning!! .. on this end of the shortened work week for my teacher wife .. so tonight is gonna be date night .. get her extended weekend started right! Otherwise off to Chiro in a few; then some exercise and some indoor golf practice - rain moving in... Again... Had a little bit of a lightbulb moment regarding how the the wrists move through the swing (from Monte Scheinblum) so that's one of the things I wanna continue to build on. Ok hope you have a hassle-free and Wonderful Wednesday!!
  12. Several years ago was at a charity outing where at one hole was a WLD Champ (forget his name, sorry) who would hit any shot shape on demand .. and about 300 yds .. with a putter!!!
  13. Visualization. I know that may sound silly but did have a bit of a lightbulb moment concerning the movements of the wrists through the (full) swing... .. it was one thing that Monte Scheinblum had explained at the clinic I attended last June (!!) and was not really getting it .. until last night, sitting on the couch, it kinda popped into my mind and I tried moving my hands like he had demonstrated .. and, Ah HA!! Tested it out in the garage today and may possibly could maybe be wandering towards the right track But, as always.. Work In Progress!!
  14. Beautiful looking irons!! The Bettinardi father and son got Fred Couples to test them out... https://youtu.be/WB34g-MIYKQ?feature=shared
  15. Love it .. way gonna post I'd like a GPS enabled golf ball (but that doesn't make the ball too heavy) so I could head straight to it every time. 100%. All courses public and private should provide/rent push carts and/or electric push carts. And then there's the total pipe dreams - Call me crazy, it's ok, but I would like to see some sort of let's call it shot clock on every green. There's being intentional with your process, and then there's being just stoopit imho... Call me really crazy but I'd like to see *well behaved dogs* allowed out on the course .. provided they're properly handled and cleaned up after by *well behaved humans*.
  16. Congrats!! Curious, tho - you could golf there but you'd have to pay the greens fee .. is that how it works?
  17. @CSiders12, others if you haven't seen it .. for your morning golf porn fix - Fred Couples hitting those new Betty irons... https://youtu.be/WB34g-MIYKQ?feature=shared
  18. Good Morning good people!! Feeling my age this morning, as in plenty of sore muscles - friend calls yesterday, I'm 6 minutes from your house .. picks me up up and we go for an approx 8 mile hike in a big, really nice state park just a few miles away. Good steady workout pace the whole way .. in the cold and blowing wind .. lotta up and down and a big stretch was narrow single track trail thru the woods and along the bluffs by the water so some nice views. Nature highlight was running across not two that we spotted at first but THREE adult Bald Eagles that took off from trees right above us!! It was interesting to see three together .. and yes they are huge, and yes they are fantastic to see in flight! So no heavy lifting today .. acupuncture in a little while, then need to restock the beer fridge, and maybe some putting practice later. Who doesn't need more putting practice, amiright? Well also thinking positive thoughts for too many Spies and MyGolfSpouses with health issues ......... Hope everyone, despite The Big C and the little ticks and everything bad in-between, can manage to have a Terrific Tuesday!!!
  19. Someone mentioned earlier they hang theirs off the front of one of the carry straps .. I typically didn't use an LRF but that sounded like pretty smart idea!
  20. I also did a quick & dirty DIY a while back after a lesson where the instructor put me on the one he had ("Sheftec" I think?). Here's my compilation pulled from the scrap bin (square cross piece not round dowel)... .. and now I'm thinking maybe add a little piece of foam on one end to add some resistance. Thx MPR!!
  21. Thx for that. It does look like a large kick pad could fit thru that slot above the wheel .. nice!!
  22. My "expectations" are to make it in one piece (and hopefully unscratched up) to the 19th Hole
  23. George Strait tix. Love that guy, have for a long time. I don't really like to go to concerts at big arenas (crowds and screaming and all) and have wanted to go see him in TX the last bunch of years and for any number of stoopit reasons it just hasn't worked out... So he's gonna be at The Meadowlands in June (weekend after the Kingsmill trip). Not the easiest travel from here to there but it's still closer than TX! Some number of months I bought two tix for my wife and her daughter to go and enjoy .. and have been kicking myself a little harder since .. so I caved and splurged a little bit more... Found 1 seat at a reasonable enough price in the same section and row as the other two tix!!
  24. Love the banter .. and it's not just in-between shots! Very little 'do this' or 'do less of that' etc and just "loose loose loose ... let's swing at targets"
  25. So I also prefer to walk when I play .. with an electric push cart .. and got out for 9 yesterday with my wife. We played the Back 9 and on Hole 16 the battery died... Was thinking about ditching the cart at the side of the tee on 17 and just carrying a few clubs but then said what the heck. Adjust the wheels to free wheel and off we go. #17 is a Par 5 that plays mostly downhill .. so that was ok .. but 18 is a longish Par 4 that is uphill from the tee, then levels out, then goes up again towards the green... So I got some extra leg work in! Then... Doubled down this morning - a friend calls me up .. I'm 5 minutes from your house, we're going for a hike! .. we drive a few miles to a big state park. Thought it was gonna be 6 miles .. in the cold and *blowing* wind .. but turned into closer to 8 (and yes haha felt like 10!). But a good workout - some up- and downhill and a big part of it was a single track trail running along the bluffs overlooking the water. Nature highlight - early on the walk while still on a main path we're passing by a not super tall tree .. suddenly something large takes off .. turns into two very large things - Bald Eagles!! Two together! Wow!! They just kinda flapped once or twice and floated over to the far side of pond .. and just as soon as they settled down a third took off from our side to join them... Wow. Three, all adult, Bald Eagles up close and personal! Very cool.
