  1. Currently using a combination of an older Garmin S10 and Mevo Flightscope to collect data. The S10 has been reliable but I think it’s time for an upgrade.
  2. Congratulations to all of the testers. Looking forward to seeing the results.
  3. Having been there a number of times as a patron I would have to say play. As the course is getting longer and my game is getting shorter the play option would need to be sooner rather than later.
  4. For me, it was easy to decide. If I had but one round to play I would choose to play 18 holes with my dad who passed at age 59 when I was only 21. Although I didn’t think of it at the time, my dad was always someone who would make time for me and sacrifice to make my life better. He taught me the game beginning at age 3 and encouraged me to be the best I could be. He taught me to respect others and the game. I think of him often as I embark my 50th year since his passing. I would have so many questions and thanks to shed I would welcome a 6 hour round. For me the answer is simple. What say you?
  5. Well it’s D day and I’m not sure why it feels like my first day of school. Drove into the parking lot of the gym, couldn’t get myself to get out of the car and go inside. Turned on the ignition and drove home. Sounds stupid but it’s not the first time. Back in the car now to try it again. Here we go.
  6. In final preparation for receiving my app access , I have completed the necessary pre app mental preparation and check list. About to embark in my fitness journey tomorrow February 22nd a historic day for sure, with a trip to the Genesis gym for my first committed work out . While it may be a no more than a walk through combined with assorted stretching exercises I need to start somewhere. A line in the sand; a stake in the dirt. Call it what you will. This overweight guy has to start somewhere. Let the journey begin. Some may call it baby steps. I call it a walk in the park.
  7. Congratulations testers. Very much looking forward to your results. This may be the last new driver I will purchase so I’m interested in all of the pros and cons.
  8. Congratulations testers. Looking forward to reading your results.
  9. Congratulations testers. Very interested in hearing your experience. I just received their new QI10 5 wood. Played yesterday for the first time and the jury is still out. Great looking club. Hope you guys find great success with the driver.
  10. Thanks for the note. Yes, the past 9 years have indeed been a journey. Not making excuses or whining about the surgery but having the rods inserted into neck and upper back have caused me to be very skittish about certain stretching exercises and pushing the envelope. However, doing nothing to very little is not the answer either. I have maintained close ties with my neurosurgeon who is currently the Neuro guy for the Steelers. I am going to pull him into whatever regime I have set up just to be certain there is no chance of re injuring the next and upper back
  11. I have a love hate relationship with my putters and if you asked my wife it’s more hate than love. When we moved from Pittsburgh back to Florida I thought it was time to thin the herd so I donated 150 putters to The First Tee. I have slowly built the number back up to 60+. Again my wife says the + piece is more accurate. in terms of what I currently have in the bag is an old Scotty Phantom Futura look alike that I picked up in a sporting goods clearance rack 20 years ago.It has been in and out of rotation more than I care to mention. Occasionally I will switch over to one of my six Cure putters or my trusty old Rife Two Bar or my Bobby Grace M5K-GT and even an old Ping 90 45” for days I really feel brave. I have looked at the Lab MEZZ but just can’t seem to justify the cost. So I guess it’s going to be me and my trusty old Futura look a like riding off into the sunset together. Happy trails!
  12. Hi everyone. My name is Paul Vicary and I am a 73 year old who loves the game as much today as I did when I was introduced to it at the age of 2 1/2. I was born in Ontario and spent time in Vancouver, Pittsburgh (Go Steelers!) and Atlanta before calling calling The Villages here in Central Florida home. I have played the game competitively since the age of 12 and at one point was able to get my handicap down to as low as +1. However time has a habit of becoming the great equalizer and I now struggle to keep my handicap in single digits. (Currently playing to a 6) Having had neck surgery back in 2015 I have found that titanium is much more forgiving in a club head than in two rods screwed into your back. Doctors said I should be happy to just being able play again but i was not satisfied. The competitive juices push me to try and get back to the way things were. I want to thank MGS for selecting me and helping to push me to become more fit. My current exercise regime consists of a 15 minute stretching routine before heading out to the course. Like many others I joined a gym and drive by it two to three times a week. I needed accountability and being chosen in this test might just be the answer. My goal is to go from being less like Izzy Mandelbaum and more like Gilad Janklowicz/ I need to lose weight (20-25 lbs) Increase my stamina so that I can walk 18 holes . I need to build my core strength, range of motion, club head speed and by default feel stronger and hit the ball longer. Easier said than done. I am committed to do what’s necessary and report back to you, my peers how things are progressing. Stay tuned!
  13. Thank you all for the best wishes. Heading out to the course in a few minutes so all is good.
  14. Although as many have said, the price of the OTC balls is to the point where there is no real need to buy used. If however you want to turn to a reputable provider, I have used Two Guys With Balls in the past. Their quality is very good and they stand behind what they sell. That said my daughter gave my 5 dozen Titleist Tour Soft for Christmas, so I should be good for a while.
  15. A foot and a half in a friendly game. Otherwise in the hole.
  16. My 3 and 5 woods are still key pieces of my arsenal. I have taken my 4 iron out of play and count on my 19 degree hybrid to fill the gap. If my yardages were close to what you are getting I might think differently.
  17. I still have two of the 48” putters in my arsenal. I will pull them out every now and then. My experience seems different than most. For the most part my longer putts I seldom have problems with. It’s the 3/4 footers I really struggle with. It’s almost feels like I’m having the yips. After one or two rounds it’s back on the shelf for another month or two.
  18. What it comes down to is the fact that irrespective of what we think or how much we ****** these these fools are going to move ahead with the ball and very soon after the equipment changes we are reading about. Yes we will mutter and talk about it in the club houses, bars and tees but, it’s not going to stop us from playing the game we love and we will adjust to this quicker than you think. I suspect 90% of the people playing have little to no understanding of what’s going on and more importantly, don’t care.
