I was a long distance runner when young and always ran through the winter so I have a lot of experience here. There are a few basic principles: a wicking layer close to the body. Ski gear from LL Bean (mid weight is my choice for golf). Then a heavy layer, a solid fleece pullover. Top it off with a vest, maybe down if it’s real cold, or a windbreaker (even something light), or both if you ride in a cart on a day with real windchill. My usual group and I are crazy enough to do that.
