I believe that was a Callaway facility primarily. Also TaylorMade held off on refreshing the TP5/TP5x for a year to make sure they didn’t encounter any early shortages.

I have had the new TP5x for almost a month now. Its pretty money. Cover seems to be a bit more durable and not quite as much spin into greens which is nice

My wife bought me a shot scope V3 for Christmas. I'm pretty excited to get out on the course and use it. I think for my needs it will be much better than when I have used Arccos in the past

Played my last competitive round of the year on Monday and we started on #10. Been struggling all year to keep the driver in play consistently and it showed up again today with 3 lost balls off the tee. Being at a facility where I can't hit driver on the range has definitely casues my driver play to take a hit. The good news is the rest of my game is decently sharp and I was able to snag the 2nd most birdies in round this year to only finish +1. If I can clean that up this offseason I should hopefully be in for a good 2023 season.

Looks like my current baseline is 115mph on a PRGR.
Really hoping to reach 190mph ball speed going into next season. I have some ideas of how to get there but I will be going through an assessment on the 28th that will better help me craft my offseason speed plan.

Look at the distances in Group D, Bryson isn't scaring them. Kyle at 439 and a few others well over the 400 mark.
Too be fair to Bryson and all the competitors prior. They are saying that the conditions are much more advantageous to big drives right now compared to earlier

If I was going to make 1 suggestion it would be to focus your putting practice around putts ~8 feet and in & ~25 feet and longer. The idea is that your working on improving your pace control with the 25+ footers and improving your face control with the 8 feet and closer putts

I have not made it over to Oregon Golf Club to watch. Was planning on trying to go watch before it was moves from Columbia Edgewater. Oregon Golf Club is the worst course ever to walk though. Chambers Bay and other "hilly" courses are flat by comparison

National Customs is made up of a lot of the same guys as Scratch. Different organization and business plan. Still making great handmade clubheads

Played Stone Creek in Oregon City yesterday and had one of my best starts ever. After making birdie on 13 I went to -7 thru 13. Unfortunately I couldn't finish it off and picked up a couple of bogies coming home and finished at -4 (68)

How had your “normal” groups adapted to the influx of new players? Anyone as grumpy as me?
Gloves were worse than balls at the high point during COVID but neither was truly truly difficult to get a hold of unless you wanted yellow AVX. Those were very difficult to get ahold of for awhile. Clubs have periodically been difficult but that is primarily due to Golf Prides on going grip shortage (Supposedly they lost a shipping container or 2 full of grips in the middle of COVID). Other back orders have been for typical reasons you would see in any given year in the past. In general other than the very start of COVID when everything got hard shut down in Asia, getting ahold of product has been mostly a none issue (grips excluded).
There will always be grumpy people. But most have adapted to make sure they can play. Most just make times a little farther out in advance so they can get as close to their preferred time as possible. Some have decided to play other public courses that just aren't as busy on specific days or all together. Some have decided to join a private or semi private clubs. Some have had to shift their typical play times to other less competitive times. Each course is a little different and has seen growth in different parts of the tee sheet. At the public resort I previously worked at, Noon and later became even more popular than it already was so more players started booking the max days in advance while others decided to make time or upgrade their pass to play a little earlier where it was less busy. At my new club its the opposite. Mornings are hyper competitive so more players have started playing in the afternoons. Both regions have very different golf climates too. Central Oregon has roughly 140,000 residents with 25+ courses (more rumored to come in the future too). The PDX and the surrounding area has a similar number of courses but a population of nearly 1 million. Courses in both regions are relatively equally busy. You may not get your 1st choice of tee time but there is a usually a spot to play at every course. You just may need to be more flexible to play a certain course depending on when you are trying to play and how soon you are trying to book.

So your preferred time is more competitive now. Trends change. What you were arguing was that there wasn't enough room. That insinuates 1 of 2 overbooking mistakes are happening. Either 1) that golf courses are shrinking the gaps between tee times a significant amount from what they were prior to COVID causing major pace of play issues. Guarantee that isn't happening. 2) golf courses are booking 5 players or more in a tee time slot on a consistent basis. Highly doubt this one is happening either. There is still room for you to play maybe just not at your preferred tee time if you go to book late

So did you think that there wasn't enough room prior to COVID when courses had a full tee sheets?

Golf is slow as it is. Growing the game never made any sense to me. For kids, yes let’s Grow it… but I’m ready for the game to shrink some.

Yes I work in golf but everything I'm about to say absolutely IS NOT "what brings me and my course the most money" but what is best for golfers and the game as a whole.
The shipping issues are not just a golf problem. It is everywhere and in every category. Same goes for manufacturing and price increases. These issues are not isolated to golf.
Yes I read your additional point that you also mean educate but as others have said, that is not a new problem and I promise you that experienced/regular golfer are far more of the issue there than newer players.
In terms of your "Grow the game but only with kids" this is just a lazy take all together. If the goal is to get more kids playing golf then you need more adults playing golf to help them get more interested in the game. (On top of being willing to drive them to the golf course or wherever they are learning the game)
You also say its slower than ever. For starters what is your idea of a "slow round"? If I go out and survey the golfers at my current club (private country club) and my former club (public resort) an overwhelming majority will say a time for a slow round that is faster than the stated pace of play for that course. As someone who manages tee sheets on a daily basis I highly doubt the average pace of play has really changed all that much across the board or even. Yes there will be pockets where a course was basically empty before Covid and you could play 18 in 3 hours or less. Those courses aren't ballooning to daily 5 hour rounds though.
Frankly I have yet to see you produce any truly valid points and I genuinely don't think any can be made that aren't meant to just benefit you personally.
I really hate to be guy who rips into someone or something but this is just an all around horrible take. It goes against what I have always believed about sports as a whole (even before I was in the Golf Industry), against what MGS (and others communities like it) represent and against a lot of what golf as a whole needs to be healthy going forward.
I apologize if I'm coming off as harsh, rude or if I am attacking you personally but I can't in good conscience just let this go by without addressing it

Set the phone either down the line or head on, then set the other apple device on the ground in front. You can then see positions in your swing as you would if using a LiveviewPro. I'm sure there's probably some differences but it works quite well for checking positions. Sometimes it can get choppy but works great and cost me nothing.

With the recently posted Forum Test for the Sub70 849 Pro Driver I feel now seems like the perfect time to share a Strokes Gained Spreadsheet I have been working on. I will also state upfront that this was made using the bones of another SG spreadsheet and is by no mean was created from scratch by myself. This particular version is set up for Drivers but could be changed to work for any tee club. Everyone can feel free to make a personal copy of the attached Google Sheets file and have at it. Feel free to edit it, use it for personal performance tracking, club testing or whatever you can come up with.

It's 45 minutes from my house; if it were a little closer, I would be a member. The pro Chris Isaacson used to be my neighbor.
I have played it a few time but before but it wasn't bad and was in good shape. Still will never be a fan of using dirt for bunkers though.
