  1. Over the past winter I picked up a hybrid to replace my 5 iron. Well, since I put the Tommy Armour Atomic irons back into the bag I’m getting more distance. So I had me a nice little competition and decided to go back to the 5 Iron. May also help when I’m further away but in some deeper rough. Plus, I was just excited about being able to go hit on a weeknight.

  3. Pace of play. We played today and normally are able to get 18 in in about 3-3.5 hours. 5 hour round today was just too much.

I noticed that while waiting for my 2nd shot for more than 5 minutes, I would end up chunking it. Which looks great especially when there’re others waiting on you. There were approximately 6 foursomes in front of us. Today we had both taken the day off to play 36. A 5 hour round negated that idea.

So pace of play is a huge factor for me. Gives me time to overthink my shot

  4. I’m going to bump this. I recently put the Tommy Armour back in the bag and took them out for a spin.

Little back story. I had been tinkering with my swing and my Pings were set for upright. So thinking that may be wrong for my new swing, I switched.

I just hit my 8 iron 148 yards today. 3 seasons ago that would’ve been 6 iron. Three weeks ago that was a 7 iron. For us high handicappers, I urge you to seriously give these a look. If you’re new to the game five these a chance. I believe I said that a year ago, but I believe these are going to stick in the bag for awhile.

Many thanks for the opportunity, I’m glad I took them out today. As an added bonus, they are sweet to look at too!
