  1. I put the Vero through the paces and it's a very good ball. It's slightly harder than the Elixr and spins more. The rest of the performance is very similar to the Elixr. I still prefer the Elixr because I like the slightly softer feel and I actually prefer less spin. I did feel like I was hitting the Vero farther and there is one Par 5 I never reach due to second shot being all carry over water. I did hit that green in 2 during my last round. By farther were only talking a few yards. I think the ball is excellent for someone who needs a little more spin than what the Elixr provides or if you prefer a slightly firmer feel.  Both feel great off the putter.  For me, I'll still be playing the Elixr due to feel and price as I always load up on the deal when I can get 4 dozen for $70.
Maybe a stupid question. Is the Vero more spin off the tee or around the greens?

  2. So I'm all set to buy the Bushnell Tour v5 Shift ($400). Then MGS says the Most Wanted finder is the Bushnell Pro EX ($500). The difference between the 2, the Pro can adjust for temputure and altitude.

I'd like my fellow spies opinions.

Is it worth the extra $100 for temp and altitude?Screenshot_20200707-105037_Samsung%20Internet.jpegScreenshot_20200707-105018_Samsung%20Internet.jpeg

  3.

I know we talked about the cost of equipment to manufacture and to purchase and the difference in between, but what about apparel.

You can purchase polos from the likes of Ben Hogan and PGA Tour for $15 to $20.

Then you have Travis Mathew, Donald Ross, Peter Millar, Greg Norman, William Murray that cost $60 to $90.

Are we really paying $45 to $70 extra for just a name.

    And is it worth it.

  4. Not looking for any conflict here. But in general. Most PGA tour players are extremely weak for their builds.I will agree that they work out more than previous generations of pros. But in my observations. They just are very weak for an professional male athlete.Ive worked out with many professional athletes that are some of the most strongest-flexible-coordinated individuals I’ve ever met.I would never trade my physique for any current pga male tour player. So what makes these guys so unique? How are they so gifted in what they do?
I understand where you're going here. I have a friend who is not weak, but smaller than the rest of us. He may not be as "strong" as the rest of us, but he can and will occasionally hit the ball farther than us. And the reason I believe is his technique is slightly better than ours sometimes.

  5. On this thread, I'm a first time writer, long time reader. Finally, have a good story to tell.

Played a round a few weeks ago on nice Jack Nicklaus design called Aston Oaks. By all means I'm a high handicapper but I have my days. Anyways, there's an hour frost delay and we are asked to play the back nine 1st. Well, I shot a good for me 44. I'm riding high and my sometimes playing partners who like to gamble are not exciting I'm winning. So, we go to the front and holes 1, 2 and 3 I shoot a 9, 9 and 7. Yes, my friends a 25 in the first 3 holes. I did mange to score a 31 on the last 6 holes which is bogey golf, but I ended with a 100 and even money on the gambling. Still proud of my 44. It's not an easy course.

  6. This is not an answer to the question, but want to throw it in just in case some have never heard of them. One of the best hats out there (my opinion) is Black Clover. I, like other golfers like to match, and Black Clover has a lot of color and combinations. Plus, they're neutral and not affiliated with any golf brand (that I know of).

  7. I'm going to eventually start my own channel on YouTube. Target audience will be high handicappers or better players who have wanted to laugh at someone, but didn't to be respectful. It is a gentleman's game.

My point for the channel is to show people who aren't very good or people who want to start golfing but haven't for various reasons that golf can be fun. With or without alcohol.

Hoping to start this year. Just need a working camera and some day learn how to edit.

  8. I hear you. I was casually looking for a high moi putter and hadn't planned on buying any yet when I saw Rock bottom had Cure CX1 and CX2 putters for $79.95 each! Just too good a deal to pass up. I went with the CX2.

With all those weights in it, it's look like they are getting in line to be sued by PXG.

  9. As far as prizes go, for people like me and I'm sure a few others, they don't have to be brand new. Like say you had a used Callaway Big Bertha Fusion driver. I would love to win that and be more than happy. Just an idea. I'm sure the lab has a few old test clubs that could use a good home.
