Drove it ok but again really struggled with my irons. My best 2 shots of the round were 70 and 50 yard pitches into greens after appalling tee shots. Both were within 2 feet. My groups handicap aggregate was 8 (3 of us) with me playing of 7. Both the other guys can seriously play and a few drives were 330+ yards.

A poor drive on the 430 yard 6th at Curlewis GC left me 227 yards from the back pin. Absolutely flushed a 5 wood that pitched about 3 feet from the hole and stopped almost dead. 2 1/2 feet putt for a birdie was a nice bonus

Kept hitting ugly heel cuts off the tee that didn’t get me into trouble but left me with a lot of long approaches. Putting was a bit off, had a case of the pulls. A really heavy burst of rain made things a little unpleasant

Didn’t feel like I played very well but scored ok. Putted poorly by my normal standards, but everything else wasn’t too bad. Yet another “almost” round. Congrats to the whole MGS/MGS Forum team for putting together such an incredible line-up of testing opportunities so far. If we stopped now it would still be a great season. Thought I should put this out there as I've been critical of the testing over the past couple of years. Great job to everyone involved. My only problem now is keeping up with them all.

Final round of the pennant season. Travelled an hour to play at one of my least favourite course on a cold and wet morning. When we arrived at 8am,it was 37F, feels like 28 . In stark contrast to last weeks round on some of the best putting surfaces in Australia, I really struggled on the bermuda greens that aren't properly maintained. The longest putt I made was about 6 feet, and it was my second putt on that hole. Drove the ball well most of the day. My only poor drives came both times we played the 3rd (9 hole course) which we played as 9/18. The first time I scrounged a half, but was unable to repeat the effort and ended up losing on the 18th for the second week in a row. The team lost 4/3, with 6 matches going to the 18th.

Playing pennant matchplay at Barwon Heads Golf Club on Sunday. 9th hole, 440 yard https://www.barwonheads.golf/cms/course/hole-9/ Solid tee shot into a slight breeze left me 210 from the pin which was back right, just on top of the edge of the steep ledge in the green. Proceeded to carve my 2nd way right with my 7 wood. Played a provisional, again with the 7 wood. Perfect line over the bunkers on the right, drifting back slightly with the breeze. Pitched on the front of the green and ran up to 8 feet, directly below the hole. Didn't look too hard for my first attempt. Holed the putt for a 5 to halve the hole after my opponent 3 putted from the back fringe. A classic example of the provisional ball being perfect, except usually that means you find the first and it's unplayable

Another option could be to try to get on a Mizuno Optimiser somewhere. It's not 100% but should give you an idea of if any of the KBS options are suited to your swing, or if something else is a really good match for you.

Matchplay Pennant match today at Barwon Heads Golf Club, one of the most links like courses in Australia. Started well, 2 up after 9, then played a few bad shots. All square on the 17th tee, 180 yard par 3. My opponent chunked his tee shot well short of the green, I pu mine about 30 feet from the hole. He proceeded to smash his pitch straight into the flag, the flag wrapped around the ball and it dropped a foot from the pin. I managed a half after hittting a very poor first putt then holing a 10 footer. Unfortunately my opponent flushed his approach on 18 to 2 1/2 feet and made a great birdie to beat me 1 up. The greens were perfect, as good as I’ve ever putted on. Quick without being crazy but rolling perfectly.

Extremely rarely! I've been playing for 30+ years and I'm on my 5th putter. My current one (MLA Tour Mallet) has been in the bag since I reviewed it in 2016. Of the other 4, one is in my daughter's bag and another is in my "holiday" bag that lives in my in-laws holiday apartment. I don't bother really looking at other putters in stores. A quick putt or two isn't going to make me want to change. If I was to change, it would only be after a proper fitting or extended trial. As an aside, putting stats can be extremely misleading. Total number of putts is very dependent on how many greens you hit and how well you're chipping the ball. 3 putting from outside 40 feet isn't something that should be unexpected. I only get concerned if I'm missing a higher than usual number of putts that I can reasonably expect to make.

Congrats to all the crew. Looking forward to this, hoping some of the fun challenges that @STUDque put us through in past seasons can be repeated.

Got a late call up to play in my club’s pennant team. Scratch matchplay at a course I haven’t played for a long time which has very slopey greens. Started really well, 3 up after 3. Made the turn 3 up and got it out to 5 up before winning 3 and 2. Drove the ball well and my irons were very solid. Didn’t make many putts but holed a 8 footer that broke about 2 feet to seal the match. Very pleased to get my first win of the season after a couple of poor losses in the the early rounds.

Drove the ball well, approach game was reasonable and putted okay. Greens hadn’t been cut for a couple of days which made them a bit difficult to read. Left 4 putts less than 6 inches short. A couple of poor putts from the fringe hurt my score. Conditions were a bit tough. 2-3 club wind that was a bit inconsistent and some showers rolling through and one burst of very heavy heavy rain made things a bit difficult. My inability to score well is getting a bit frustrating, but my consistency is pleasing. My “played to” scores for my last 20 rounds range from 5 to 15. My bad rounds aren’t awful

Used my handicap in the first 6 holes. Putting was extremely poor. Including a few from the fringe had 6 x 3 putts. Greens were quick and my previous round was on extremely slow greens and I really struggled to adjust. Pleased with my finish. One over for the last 10 holes was a big improvement.

MyGolfSpy Twitter is still spreading misinformation about testing. Must make the mods job even harder. Does anyone know if the Twitter account is outsourced or run by MGS management? Either way, it diminishes the organisation’s integrity to continue to do this.

Hopefully the other MGS accounts on Twitter read the “How Tester’s Are Chosen” thread and stop promoting testing opportunities with “Retweet and like to test “ misinformation. Hopefully testing can regain traction this year, sounds extremely promising
