  1. Very ugly 85/79. Drove the ball really well, except for a big pull into the water on 16 (started on 10) Had 2 very lazy 3 putts, 1 missed tap in when I wasn't thinking. I missed from 18 inches, my daughter then proceeded to miss from 15, must be genetic. Thought my score was atrocious until I got to the clubhouse where I managed to win a dollar of all but 2 of the guys I "have a dollar" with, only 4 scores in the nett 70s from 13 of us. The mate I played with had 75 nett 76 in his 2nd round in 4 months after breaking his ankle, 3 over in tough conditions including a 4 putt. He makes me sick! My daughter is now playing regurlarly and is starting to implement the swing changes her coach has been working on. It's been great to play with her the last 2 rounds.
  2. 49, 53 and 57 SCOR wedges arrived today. Had a quick hit of the 49 into my net. I think I'm going to like them.
  3. Snuck back down to 5.3, mainly based on really tough conditions that pushed out the daily rating.
  4. Yet another messy round. 9 over playing off 6, including the now standard 3 doubles. Couldn't hit the planet with the driver, until the last when I finally got a good one away. Putted solidly, one 3 putt, a very slick downhill, downwind one. Wind was up, about 3 clubs worth. Really need to remove the multiple doubles that are killing me.
  5. Strange round of 9 over, playing off 6. Wind was up, blowing 20-25mph. Realised my 8 iron was in my daughters bag just before teeing off, of course I was bang on 8 iron distance for my shot into my first hole. Had 3 over on my first 9, only hitting 3 fairways. Had a double after finishing 6 inches from the lip of a fairway bunker. Missed 3 and 10 foot birdie putts. Butchered the the first 3 after the turn, 2 X 3 putts and a couple of brain fades. Got it back together after nearly holing a 70 yard pitch and holing a 15 foot birdie putt. Finished with a 3 putt bogey after shaving the hole for birdie. Hit 5 fairways this side, but couldn't convert.
  6. 79 playing in the morning, 1 worse than handicap. Started with a double, and was 4 over after 5. Missed 2 short putts through poor concentration (again) Missed 3 good birdie chances, and left a 20 foot putt 1/2 inch short on the 18th. Not too disappointed, but could have been a lot better.
  7. Bought a set of 3 Scor wedges, 49,53,57. Got a pay rise coming, and doing some OT so thought why not? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  8. Looking at a set of Scor wedges. PGA Superstore has a $20 freight deal to Aus. The exchange rate they use is really high, but the reduced freight makes it tempting. Not sure how the Genius 12 shaft would fit with me, but for $A343 delivered it could be worth a try.
  9. Played in the morning which isn't usually great for me. Conditions were as good as they get this time of year here, but I played my usual morning rubbish. 5 over after the first 4, 6 over for the rest. Had 3 very soft doubles, all the result of poor concentration and decision making. Also missed a tap in through poor concentration. Get to try and improve my morning play next week with another early start.
  10. I hope Spaulding didn't pick his nose.
  11. 33 Stableford points (9 over playing off 6) Conditions were atrocious, 20-30mph winds, rain squalls rolling through every 3 or 4 holes, about 50F (do you see how I'm converting for you Americans) Hit the ball reasonably well, short and mid irons let me down. Putted well on wet but quick greens, no 3 putts, and 6 X 1 putts, a couple from 12-15 feet. Pretty happy with result, especially considering I left my rain cover (containing rain gloves) safely in the garage at home.
  12. New work bench, not that I'm allowed to work much. Hopefully the back will feel better and I can swing better.
  13. I thought of you when I put my pin in and the scale changed. Can't get much further than Germany to Australia!
  14. Hope you've got good wet weather gear
  15. My lonely pin will shrink down the map for everyone else, happy to remove it if it makes things easier for the rest.
  16. Just imagine how much more distance you would have got with a SLDR-C!
  17. Aweful Started with 3 doubles in the first 4 holes, handicap gone. Had another double after the only perfectly struck iron for the day. Back nine was much better, only 4 over.
  18. I've been avoiding buying anything for myself lately for that exact reason, especially as my just turned 16 daughter will be getting new clubs soon. It could have been very awkward, especially if she ends up in the same shafts as me.
  19. Thought I'd post a photo of the 3rd tee before the weather got ugly Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  20. Played at Port Fairy Golf Club, one of the best value courses in Australia. Wind was blowing at 20+ mph, with most holes playing cross wind. Some great course with 12 holes running along the dunes, one of my playing partners put 2 balls on the beach. Drove the ball well, conditions worsened with some rain blowing through, pretty heavy from 14-18. Was 4 over on the front, 8 over on the back. Had a great time despite the weather. 21. Played in a 4 ball, hit it pretty solid, except for my 5 iron, which I butchered all day. Really tough conditions, 12C, rain on and off all day and a bit of wind. Soft fairways and greens, but greens rolled very well. I had 8 over, with 3 doubles, other 15 holes were good, could have been better. Difficult to read breaks due to varying amounts of moisture on the greens. Plugged my ball on consecutive greens, once with a wedge from a flyer lie, next hole with a 3 wood!
  22. A Sunice Goretex rain jacket and a pair of Loudmouth Black and White mini shorts. Not for me, my daughter's 16th birthday.
  23. Are you planning on wearing them all at the same time? That would be scary. My tally is four pairs of pants and three pairs of shorts. I've also got a few loudmouth shirts in complimentary colours.
