  1. Strange round of 9 over, playing off 6. Wind was up, blowing 20-25mph. Realised my 8 iron was in my daughters bag just before teeing off, of course I was bang on 8 iron distance for my shot into my first hole. Had 3 over on my first 9, only hitting 3 fairways. Had a double after finishing 6 inches from the lip of a fairway bunker. Missed 3 and 10 foot birdie putts. Butchered the the first 3 after the turn, 2 X 3 putts and a couple of brain fades. Got it back together after nearly holing a 70 yard pitch and holing a 15 foot birdie putt. Finished with a 3 putt bogey after shaving the hole for birdie. Hit 5 fairways this side, but couldn't convert.
  2. I wouldn't say I collect them, but I seem to keep buying them. I'm not game to count them, then I'd know I have a problem.
  3. I saw the offending post, and after I put through my order, looked for a "report" button. Is there a process we should follow to get spammers kicked out earlier?
  4. 3 Strokes had yesterday, 1. Don't blade it, bladed it over the back and dead, double. 2. Left edge, thinking "I'm aiming right edge, but it's left" Continued to hit the putt, missed right (surprise!) 3. Missed from 2 foot, thinking about everything other than the putt. Overall not as bad mentally as I've been recently, but a bit frustrating.
  5. 79 playing in the morning, 1 worse than handicap. Started with a double, and was 4 over after 5. Missed 2 short putts through poor concentration (again) Missed 3 good birdie chances, and left a 20 foot putt 1/2 inch short on the 18th. Not too disappointed, but could have been a lot better.
  6. Bought a set of 3 Scor wedges, 49,53,57. Got a pay rise coming, and doing some OT so thought why not? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  7. One of the best things I've ever read on golf. If it didn't hit so close to home it wouldn't have been nearly as impressive. The last few months I've had 2 or 3 doubles every round from nowhere, almost always stupid mental errors, and been consistently around 8 over. I keep staying on the same handicap as it seems like everyone else is playing a bit worse, but it's driving me crazy.
  8. Looking at a set of Scor wedges. PGA Superstore has a $20 freight deal to Aus. The exchange rate they use is really high, but the reduced freight makes it tempting. Not sure how the Genius 12 shaft would fit with me, but for $A343 delivered it could be worth a try.
  9. Played in the morning which isn't usually great for me. Conditions were as good as they get this time of year here, but I played my usual morning rubbish. 5 over after the first 4, 6 over for the rest. Had 3 very soft doubles, all the result of poor concentration and decision making. Also missed a tap in through poor concentration. Get to try and improve my morning play next week with another early start.
  10. Looking forward to these reviews, I use a SM Sync, and it has a few things I don't love about it. My daughter will need a new bag soon (current cheap bag is on it's way out), so it will be good to hear how good the cart bag is.
  11. I play regularly with a friend who smashes it. Our 10th is 330m (365yd) from the plates with a very slight dogleg. Playing slightly forward I hit 3 wood, wedge to about 15 foot, he hit driver 30 foot past the hole. The same day he hit driver 5 iron into our 12th which was playing about 520m. He plays a different game to me. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  12. Seems like they're pretty responsive to customers, maybe contact them and ask. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app

  14. Once you guys get into the next phase you may regret that statement. I'm really interested in these irons, like what I've read so far and hope they are as good as they seem.
  15. I hope Spaulding didn't pick his nose.
  16. Usually laser, occasionally I'll use the markers if I haven't got line of site, mostly for lay ups. I tend to rely on visuals when pitching from close range. If I forget to get the range finder back off my daughter, I use the markers and hope I get my guess of pin position correct.
  17. Reviewed my stroke, and really reduced grip pressure. Putted very well, only hit one bad stroke, made a couple of longish putts, and no 3 putts. I focussed on "seeing" the alignment stripe following the line I wanted and it worked well. Starting to really love this putter.
  18. 33 Stableford points (9 over playing off 6) Conditions were atrocious, 20-30mph winds, rain squalls rolling through every 3 or 4 holes, about 50F (do you see how I'm converting for you Americans) Hit the ball reasonably well, short and mid irons let me down. Putted well on wet but quick greens, no 3 putts, and 6 X 1 putts, a couple from 12-15 feet. Pretty happy with result, especially considering I left my rain cover (containing rain gloves) safely in the garage at home.
  19. Got a 10.5 and 12.5 degrees for about $40 each, and a Grafalloy Epic shaft for $20 from Rockbottom about 6 years ago. I'm still playing the 10.5 and my daughter plays the 12.5 with the V2 Prolaunch reg shaft that came with it. All up it cost about $120 after swapping in the epic. I've tried to find an upgrade, but nothing seems to be able to do it. I think the head is solid, but the shaft seems to be perfect for me. It would be interesting to hit a new head with an epic shaft to see if results improve.
  20. Very small list for me. Hawaii. Although I have played in 100% of the US States I've visited.
  21. Well, I hit a few drivers in store along with my trusty old Nickent. Mate who owns the shop was pretty blunt, gave me a Calloway Big Bertha but said "You probably won't hit it any better than your current one, spin is slightly better, but not likely any significant improvement" My carry with both was 220m, which is pretty close to real life. I played a few holes, bumped into a mate in the car park, who grabbed his now redundant Ping G25 and told me to give it a go too. Blocked my first hit (no warm up) with Nickent, hit the others solid, and about 5 yards from each other. Course was very wet after 1 1/2 inches of rain. Rotated clubs around on the next few tees, to try and be fair. Ping and BB were very consistent for distance. I hit the Nickent straighter, and flushed one that was 40m past the other 2 (290ish yards ) Looks like I'll be keeping old faithful.
  22. Welcome aboard Jofi, which side of Melbourne are you? You'll enjoy it here, lots to be learnt in a good atmosphere.
  23. New work bench, not that I'm allowed to work much. Hopefully the back will feel better and I can swing better.
  24. I thought of you when I put my pin in and the scale changed. Can't get much further than Germany to Australia!
