  1. A rules change to allow 16 clubs is unlikely to happen, but if it did, I wouldn't be put off by it. I seriously doubt it would have much of an effect on scoring.at the Professional or 'Better Amateur' level anyway. As for typical 'recreational' golfers, some 'weekend players' carry more than 14 clubs now, and very few people really care. When was the last time you actually counted how many clubs were in your buddy's bag? So, as a 'recreational golfer', if you 'think' an extra club or two helps you play better, or if it just makes you 'happier', or feel more confident, then I say go for it. At the recreational level, enjoyment of the game is the paramount consideration...
  2. SO, MR MILLENNIAL.. Which one is YOU jlukes!...
  3. Some of our Millennial Golfers WALK, but seldom TALK because they are too busy texting, checking facebook, or taking a selfie.. . Kind of funny when they walk into trees or fall into fairway bunkers because with their heads down, focused on a smartphone, they often don't see where they are walking!...
  4. Nope! None of those 'crack-prone' multi-material clubheads for me! I'm using a 2015 9.5* TaylorMade SLDR-C, (with 'custom' 45.5" Miyazaki Kusala Black 61s Shaft tipped 1/2"). As good as it gets!..
  5. My Driver!...Extra long off the tee today!..Guess the back was a bit looser than it's been in a while...No doubt the the Aleve I took before playing helped!...

This 'Fix' is not applicable for Tour-issued SLDR's or the 2015 SLDR-C model as those drivers have different weighting schemes. SLDR Anonymous Meeting - Equipment - GolfWRX - Page 3

  10. OK 'Mr_Theoo', (A better screen name for your 'SOUR PUSS' posting would be CeeLo Green's Cat's name, 'Miss Cleo', and it even rhymes with 'Theoo')... CLEO 'THE CAT' A DEMEANOR Not only will I 'IGNORE' your rude post above, but I'll place you on my 'IGNORE LIST' as well...and feel free to do the same for me!..I don't want to read more of your rude posts and I would be equally glad to have you stop viewing mine!... I PROMISE that if you follow directions precisely as instructed when applying 'THE SLDR Fix', you'll be much happier with the performance of your ORIGINAL, (2013-2014 Retail), SLDR Driver afterwards!.. 11. Sounds to me like you are a great candidate for 'The SLDR Fix'...(See Post #211 on the previous page (15), for a link to the full details on just why it works, and precisely how to apply it! The very common 'low hook miss' this driver is known for will be gone for good once 'the fix' is applied, and launch angle will be improved as well! The 'Fix' is simple and effective!..
  12. I knew that statement had to be an error! Thanks for making the correction to Post #221..
  13. Indeed, it does work, and 'The SLDR Fix' has been applied by many people already who enjoyed great success with their original SLDR Drivers once 'the fix' was applied'. Please follow the directions precisely as instructed in the post, including the initial slider setting that is recommended there. To learn how to apply 'The SLDR Fix', just click on the link below then scroll down to Post #77. SLDR Anonymous Meeting - Equipment - GolfWRX - Page 3
  14. Maybe you should 'taste it' yourself first before passing judgement...
  15. For those of you who still think the original (2013-2014) SLDR Retail Drivers are worth another shot, I suggest the easily-applied 'SLDR Fix' to resolve this driver's lack of forgiveness issues. By eliminating the dreaded 'low hook miss' that is so common with this driver, (even on sound swings), perhaps you can keep it in the bag for awhile, despite it's flaws!.. The 'Fix' is applicable to all original Retail SLDR Drivers including the 430, 460, and the Silver 'S' model. It is not for the SLDR Tour-issued models which already have a different weighting scheme than the Retail models, (i.e.a toe screw and a heavier metal toe plate, plus a lighter silver weight beneath the blue slider). 'The SLDR Fix' is also not applicable for the redesigned-for-2015 SLDR-C Driver either, as the 'C' does not suffer from any forgiveness issues, or 'loft up' requirements of the original SLDR Driver models... Click on the link below, then scroll down to Post #77 to learn how to apply 'The SLDR Fix' to your original (2013-2014) Retail SLDR Driver. SLDR Anonymous Meeting - Equipment - GolfWRX - Page 3

    Tinnitus

I suffered from Meniere's disease when I was younger and lost 90% of the hearing in my left ear. I have had tinnitus ever since but at least the severe vertigo and nausea subsided, although I still experience an occasional return of those conditions...happens a few times every year. The 'screaming noise' in my ear definitely spikes at times, (as others have mentioned), but I have given up trying to manage it by limiting salt, caffeine etc. I just try to block it out mentally which I acknowledge is very difficult when you are trying to go to sleep with no sound other than that constant 'scream' in my left ear. Tinnitus is a nuisance for sure, but there are far worse things that other people out there have to deal with, so when I put it into that sort of perspective I actually consider myself very lucky. I've learned to live with it and simply refuse to allow myself to dwell on it much, for if I did, it could drive me stark-raving crazy...
  17. Daily Thunderstorms with severe Lightning, and otherwise Hot, and Humid with plenty of Mosquitoes and Gnats. When the sun does shine, the 'feel like' temps are over 100* which is pretty miserable for golf... I would say that right now the weather conditions in Southeast Florida are about as bad as it ever gets, short of a Tropical Storms or Hurricane!... It's so lousy outside that I am taking a break from playing any golf right now! The weather and the insect conditions are just too yucky for any kind of enjoyable golf experience!..
  18. I am not going to name any specific ebay seller(s) here because you can easily do an ebay search for 'SLDR irons' 'heads only' 'new.' These may, or may not be found as complete sets of iron heads at this point in time. If the heads are only offered individually now, you will need to add individual heads to your cart to create the specific set you want, and then send a request to the seller to adjust the shipping charges for a multiple item purchase. Note: If you are 'late to the party' here, you may find that not every head you want is still available.. The quantities available for each individual iron head will vary.
  19. Couldn't resist a set of SLDR Irons available as 'heads only'. These iron heads are brand new and still wrapped in the original TM plastic. Apparently these are surplus heads from TM's custom Department that were sent to certain preferred ebay Sellers by TM. (The custom program for the SLDR irons was obviously ended quite sometime ago)... These SLDR irons are what I call 'tweeners', meaning an iron that is in-between a better player's iron and a game improvement (GI) iron. (Note the head size comparison with the 2014 Tour Preferred MC shown in pic #3 below). Perhaps the last great 'playable and affordable' set of irons from TM without the troublesome 'face slots'. Granted, the latest 2017 P-750 and P-750 irons don't have face slots either, but those are quite expensive and not nearly as forgiving as these SLDR irons are... Check out Mark Crossfield's YouTube review of the SLDR irons. Has he ever been more impressed with any golf club than he was in that review?.. Prices were ridiculously low for these, and since I already have a spare set of shafts and some extras of my favorite grips, this was a very easy decision to make. The result will be a 'custom set' of some very nice irons at a super-bargain price!.. If you keep a sharp eye, (and know just where to look), you can often find 'heads only' deals like this on ebay. (There are several specific ebay Sellers that TM uses for this kind of suplus liquidation). In my opinion, it's a great way to purchase golf equipment...In fact, I would always go this route if it were always possible to do so. ..
  20. Nobody was worried about the Wilson Triton until the USGA declared that it was non-conforming AFTER a shape analysis, and a CT test was done using the 12 gram weight. Until and unless there is a USGA test done for the SLDR-C Driver, (and it fails the test), there is really no need to worry about it either! Keep in mind, this is a 2015 model driver, so if the USGA's CT test has not been conducted by now, chances are it is never going to happen! Furthermore, I doubt that anyone choosing to use the SLDR-C driver for tournament play will ever be challenged over the conformity matter. Rest assured, all the OEM's continue to push clubface flex to the legal limit on ALL their driver models, and that's actually been going on for quite some time now!. The SLDR-C is most likely at, (or very near to), the legal CT limit, just like the other TM drivers. All this non-conforming speculation surrounding the 2015 SLDR-C driver should really be a non-issue at this point in time. Therefore lets just all put the matter to bed once and for all!.
  21. The quality of the SLDR-C is certainly no different than the rest of the SLDR Family, (all TM metal woods are made in China). However, it is interesting you should bring quality up since the only TM metal woods known to have any quality issues at present are the most expensive M-Family line of metal woods. (The ridge forming and paint cracking issues have created some real warranty headaches for TM at a time when the company is still struggling to find new ownership).. As for your "big box"and "mass produced" comments, the SLDR-C has been, and is being sold by the very same Golf Retailers as other current TM Metal woods including the aforementioned M-Family line, and, of course, ALL TM Drivers are 'mass produced', so just what the heck were you thinking with that statement? Perhaps you only shop in Golf Course Pro Shops where very few lines of clubs are even offered for sale. Fact is that most of us do shop at major Golf Retailers these days, and with the online Retailers as well! There is certainly nothing wrong with that! Your shopping habits are atypical!. You can try and discredit this club all you want Shawn, but your comments only make me wonder if you have ever even seen one up close, much less actually played a round of golf with one! Be advised that TM has long been known for excellent metal woods and the SLDR-C line is certainly no exception!.. I'll say it again...There is no direct relationship between a driver's price its performance for a particular individual, and most people are able to figure that out pretty quickly!..
  22. Once again, it has NOT been deemed non-conforming by any of Golf's legislative bodies. and obviously you lack the authority to deem it non-conforming. Of course, you can 'assume' whatever you like for your own purposes, (if that makes you happy), but that's really taking a 'glass half-empty' view of the matter... Fact is, the SLDR-C Driver remains UNTESTED, (by the USGA or the R&A). My own 'glass half-full' philosophy is to believe that it does conform to the USGA rules until/unless proven otherwise.. When you really think about it, is there any rational reason to believe TM made an exception for this driver, when every other Taylormade Driver you can currently buy is conforming?...(i.e. CT tested!).. As previously mentioned, I am perfectly fine not knowing the CT test results, because I already know everything I need to know...(i.e. it is a 'hot faced' driver that performs well for me!).. Full Disclosure: I am not using the stock SLDR-C Driver shaft, having been previously fitted for my Driver shaft The shaft I use, (shown below), is a fairly demanding shaft, and certainly not for everyone, but just perfect for me!
  23. 100% Correct!... Maybe TM knows, maybe not, (I suspect they do), but I would just as soon NOT know because I want to keep playing it!..
