  1. I'd have to agree with the mizuno 900 series. That being said can't go wrong with ap2's and if you look at slightly older models the mp25s from mizuno are great. I love my Ping i e1 so those would be another iron I'd recommend looking into on the last years model list! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  2. Two things recently for me. One was a pair of shoes on for 50% off at a course I don't normally play. I tried them on and that was that, threw the old ones in the truck and played with the new ones. Then I was at the store looking at the f7 3 wood and ended up walking out with two shop worn callaway MD3 wedges for $120 cdn! Most used clubs since then! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  3. I always seem to have one or two bad holes a round. It is something where I'm not a great golfer and should be more taking lessons it is bound to happen. Usually after that bad hole I try to relax and remember that I'm out to enjoy playing and be outside (hopefully in the sun) and more times then not that will help get me back on track. Somehow I find it very hard to not enjoy golfing even if I'm playing terrible. One good shot and all the confidence comes back. Plus there are always more good rounds and more good shots to come down the road! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  4. Had one of these happen today on the course. Par 4 about 320 with a island green going down hill. I always hit my 3 wood down because it sets up will for a wedge into the green. This time it popped way off high toe and I lost it as it went on into the trees. Being that it was a crappy day and it was only me on the course I grabbed another ball and hit the nice little draw where I had intended on hitting my first one. Grabbed my tee and went on down to continue the hole. Much to my surprise both balls were within 10 yards of each other and in great spots! No idea how it got there, but I was quite happy to see it there in the middle of the fairway. Ended up with a par and onto the next hole! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  5. Of course the fitting will tell you what's best for you, but I'd definitely be rooting for the f7+. Hit one side by side my fly z+ at a demo day and all the numbers were very similar, but it definitely felt softer and was more forgiving. Plus the matte colours are gorgeous! 7. Tee off in a hour and a half! Unfortunately we have had a really bad May in Nova Scotia and it's been raining and colder nearly every day, but still great to get out on the course regardless! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  9. Highly overlooked part of a lot of recreational sports. Warming up and stretching is very important. Great write up and thank you! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  10. I won't lie as long as it's coffee I'm happy. There are very few places I don't like coffee. Tim Hortons is one of them, but even in a pinch it will do. Gotta love a pour over first thing in the morning though! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  11. Completely agree. I've used a the cobra fly z+ for a few years now and have tried several other drivers including the king ltd, and so far nothing has beat the fly z+. That being said I did try the epic and wow. Didn't get any numbers to compare, but it certainly felt and looked like it was going just as far and straight. However tough to justify $600+ for something isn't that different in performance. Maybe I'll have to get a launch monitor to really test side by side.
  12. Tons of rain here in Halifax has turned the creek into a raging river. Great fun though! 13. It really is a great community here. Love the in depth reviews of equipment and all the good conversation. Hopefully MGS gets more gear to buy in the future. Would love to get a shirt or two that is a medium! And of course there is always the ever hopeful applications for testing products! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  14. I started golfing when I was younger with my dad, although we kept score I couldn't tell you how well we actually did. We were definitely playing more for the fun of the game then being competitive. It wasn't until about 5 years ago that I took it back up and started playing more frequently. Since then I broke 100 pretty quick, probably 5 or so rounds. Breaking 90 was later on in my first season back and breaking 80 didn't happen until two days ago! Had a lot of close rounds up to that point, but always ended up in the 81-85 range. Next up is 70, which I have a feeling will take a long time! But here's to trying! 15. 3 clubs were recently added to my bag. Cobra f7 3 wood, best 3 wood I've ever used. Can't see it leaving the bag for a very very long time. That and callaway MD3 black 56,60 wedges. Which I really can't complain about! So far good clubs. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  16. Jamie Nova Scotia 103-105 Mid to high Cobra King LTD with Adila Rogue xstiff (10.5) Yes I was professionally fit for this driver Thank you for the opportunity! Good luck to everyone Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  17. So far I'm at 4 rounds 18 holes. With another round about to be played in a hour! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  18. Mines my pup as well when he was about 3 or 4 months old (he's 4 now) He's the only reason I sometimes feel bad golfing because he'll be home alone. That being said he's always rewarded with a long walk to the park before or after the round! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. Another walker here! I much prefer walking to a cart. Not really sure why other then it's nice to get the exercise and enjoy seeing the course at a bit of a slower pace. The click gear cart has made a world of a difference in enjoying walking that much more. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  20. Came for the reviews and all the other great content. Still relatively new, but really can't beat this site and all it offers! Thank you MGS Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  21. I have a Monday-Thursday Membership at a local course which was on special (I have summers off!) Then I play other courses throughout the weekend as my wife and I spend time at the family cottage and other areas of Nova Scotia to get some variety in. Best of both worlds I think. Always nice having a change of scenery playing a variety of courses. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  22. Hello, I'm in a similar position as you. I do use stats and have used game golf as well as just marking down certain shots on a little note book throughout the round. For the most part I've used the stats and notes for what to focus on during my practice time. Lately it's been a lot of 150 yards and in. So far this approach has really helped and I feel much more accomplished when my practice and rounds are finished. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  23. Great idea! Added myself in there...unfortunately there seems to be a lack of Canadians adding themselves! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  24. Personally I will admit that I have used YouTube to help with swing fixes. That being said going to a coach has been much more beneficial. Although I want to improve, I golf for the enjoyment of the sport and to get outside! Trying to tweak something all the time just seems to take the fun out of it and makes my game worsez Equipment reviews I do love watching! Great way to get a decent opinion on what may be worth trying out! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  25. Oh do I know the feeling! I work seasonally (winter) so summer is my time off and golf time. That being said we made sure we have some time at the cottage each weekend so it all balances out. That and I can always golf while she's at work. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
