  1. Thanks for the reply. My gut is telling me just to go for it! Even though my season is winding to a close and it's likely I won't be able to put them in play till sometime in October or next season...decisions decisions. What irons were you using previously?
  2. It's not needed, but I'm definitely thinking about a set of mizuno mp-25s. I've always loved them and hit them well and there are some great deals on them now that it's nearing seasons end, but just don't know if I actually need them. I play well with my current irons, but I can't get these out of my head! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  3. Week to week I find small but important things in my game to tweak and change that I would consider ah-ha moments. The biggest thing two things I found this season are a) 7 iron bump and runs. Not great for all courses but definitely helped my short game. getting myself to my comfortable yardage for shots into the green. For so long I always tried just to hit it far and get as close as I could regardless. Now I like being really anywhere from 90-135 yards and feel extremely comfortable with those shots in. Often on shorter par 4s rather then using driver/3 wood to get as close as possible I will take 5 iron to get me to my comfortable yardage. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  4. For me it's the big pull hook. I usually hit it pretty straight with most my clubs. Little draw with the irons which can turn to a push, but that I can live with. Driver normal has a bit of a fade which is consistent so no worry to change that. Then there is my 3 wood which is my favourite and most consistent club. I can work it both ways and just feel super confident with it in my hands however it is the one club that I will get that big bad shot out of once or so a round. Normally it is a big big over draw or pull hook. Still love the club though! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  5. First tournament was actually a few weeks ago in club championships. I've golfed for a long time as a kid and it's only been the last few years that I've really gotten into playing/improving and keeping a handicap. So I hadn't swung a club in the week leading up to clubs because I was away working. My expectations weren't too high even though I felt I could piece together a good round and have a shot at it. Started off very well only 2 over through 6 holes and well then everything fell apart. I silly decision off the tee, rain started coming down and having not looked at the forecast I didn't have rain gloves or anything so I lost all confidence in my swing and really be able to attack because I didn't feel I could put a good strike on the ball. Ended up with my worst round of the season at 96. Day two! Knowing I was out and still had some good holes the previous day I really wanted to piece together a proper round and thankfully with some luck and a few made outs for around to 79. I couldn't help but laugh afterwards, I had so much fun and despite having a awful first day knowing it just wasn't my day I still thoroughly enjoyed my time and will certainly bring what I learned into future tournaments. 6. Great set up! Big fan of every club in the bag and have to admit love seeing an endangered species club in the bag with Nike hybrid. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  7. Very good topic! For me it would definitely be shots 75-15 yards. All others are full swings and feel confident over the all. More recently my chipping has improved simply by playing it simpler and using a 7 iron a lot of the time to take some inconsistency out. However that 10-75 yards still gives me troop. On the range it's okay, pretty consistent and not bad, but on the course it's a different story! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  12. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one and thank you! It's a tough track that I've only played once in October. The August air should definitely help the ball carry further!
  13. Not sure if someone has ranted about this before and it's not a huge deal, but I work in a pro shop at a local course and unfortunately we don't have a online booking system so all tee times have to be called in. I spend a lot of time on the phone! Anyway here is an example that drives me when ppl call. Me: good morning .... what time roughly were you looking golfing? Customer: right around 10am? Me: I have 9:58! Customer: oh...that's too early do you have anything later? Then they end up going at around 10:30. It happens so often and I know it's small, but when we have the phone ringing as often as we do for bookings it's such a waste of time! And for me I don't care when they go out in just happy they are out on the course! So give me as close to the exact time and I'll do everything I can to accommodate that. But really it's 2 minutes! 14. Anyone ever have one of those day where they literally could barely hit a ball? That was me yesterday and oddly enough it was about the 3rd times it's happened at the same range. This season I haven't done a lot of range time as between working and playing at the course I've got ample rounds and practice in but the other day I figured it would be good to just go work on some wedges and get some distances dialled in the new glide wedges I just got...except I could barely make contact with a full swing. Hozel rockets all around, I couldn't help but laugh. I haven't hit a bad shot like that in a lot of rounds and it didn't really matter the club I took I couldn't make solid contact on a full swing. Part of me thinks it was the matts or who knows. Anyway took a day off today and playing tomorrow guess I'll have to wait and see what shows up! Fingers crossed Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  15. I can't say I've done it with the sub zero but I've done it with many other drivers and I keep going back to my fly z+. I have tried countless other drivers and purchased a few along the way however even though the numbers say one thing compared to the fly z+ the on course results show something very different. I do really want to get a round in with the epic to try it in the course some day soon! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  16. Have my first ever tournament coming up with the club championships August 12-13. Should be interesting as I doubt I'll get a round in from the week before as I'm out of town. Maybe it will be exactly what I need! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  17. I would be telling everyone. I would also be videoing my walk from the tee box to the hole as proof. I know the feeling of playing alone. Sometimes it's the best way to squeeze a round in! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  18. 9 - 18 hole rounds 1 - 9 hole round A decent month over all considering I was over seas for work for 10 days. Unfortunately golf will really slow from here on out with my regular work starting up in a few weeks and things get crazy. End goal for the season is 70 rounds and get my handicap into single figures! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. Jamie, Nova Scotia Nike Method Converge S1-12 38" weight at the top. Standard Loft and Lie. Left handed. Odyssey O-works Red #7S Thanks for the opportunity and good luck to everyone! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  20. I know it's another older driver but for me it's still performed great. The cobra fly z+ has been a staple in my bag for a while now. I am a big fan of the cobra drivers and in testing it head to head with the f7+ it was still very similar with little separating the two. However the cobra connect feature is a great plus for the newer models Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  21. I love that you mentioned course management. This is my first year being a member at a course and I've learned how to manage not only certain holes but my game as a whole. I am much smarter with my clubs off the tee to get myself to a yardage I like into the green. Whereas before I was pretty typical driver off anything I could. It's definitely helped as I've gone from a 16-11 handicap. Side note I know putting is important and a huge asset to have as a skill, but I would side with rev where ball striking would be on the more important side. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
