What books are we missing here? I have a few that I still need to read, but this is a pretty great list with one of my all time favorites!

I'm sure shafts are going through a lot of different mechanical stresses during a golf swing. I also don't understand how shaft manufacturers can only use one torque value for a shaft. Most shafts have varying stiffness throughout the shaft (e.g. stiff grip section, x-stiff mid section, stiff tip section).
Might make for an interesting community call to have a shaft manufacturer attempt to explain what to look for when deciphering torque and stiffness?
At some point we will have Aki on for a community call. Just working on a few things before and then we can sort out a date. He is very knowledgeable and a great person to talk to.

Was digging into the torque info a little more last night and came across this.
Torque is defined as "a measure of how much a shaft resists twisting during the golf swing. It is measured in degrees, which denotes how many degrees the shaft will twist under a given force."
Companies do use different machines to test the torque out and it can vary.
It's interesting on some of the descriptions from different companies on the thought process behind their numbers.
And if can also be besides differently depending on where they measure it both in rotation and at what length.

Was wondering the same thing about torque?
Different companies take different measurements for torque. Whether that is a single point, 2 point of 4 point (to my knowledge).
Bottom line torque is all about feel and there are definitely preferences on both or all sides of it.

So I have been doing a thousand other things, but this is still something I am stupid excited for.
It is going to be a crazy 2 months with going to Sweden end of April, coming home then off to Paris for a few day, then my family comes to visit for a few weeks before I go to the outing and then come home and start work again! Might as well just keep a bag packed for a while!

Hey MGS - I just received my Paradym in the mail and thought I'd post a "mini-review" in this thread! Some background - I won a SM contest over the holidays (thanks Pete Pappas on X) and was able to select any model / shaft / grip combination in the Paradym stable.
Introduction: Please see link in signature to my intro on the 2023 Cobra Challenge
Given I'm pretty happy with my Cobra Aerojet, this meant the Paradym has a stiff challenge ahead. Regardless, I'm pretty pumped to try out this club, based on the pretty positive reviews in this thread (great job again @cksurfdude, @Invader Zim 315, @StrokerAce, @Samuel09152, and @azstu324!)
Fitting: First things first - I needed to try out different models and shaft options, so after calling around, I went with a local Edwin Watts, as they had all three models, and a pretty wide selection of stock & custom shafts.
Unfortunately, I didn't snap any pictures (I was too excited), but the results were pretty impressive. I started out with the Paradym X at 10.5*, which I've read is the most "forgiving" and probably the closest to my current gamer (AJ Max). Starting with two stock options (Hzrdus Silver & Ventus Blue Non-Velocore), I immediately noticed some positive trends in spin & dispersion, but nothing really different from my gamer with ONE exception - the X accentuated my draw, my natural shot shape, too much and nearly all of my shots were offline (without adjusting my aim direction). Knowing the X is draw-biased, this wasn't surprising, but it was interesting to see just how much it affected my "good" shots.
Moving on to the standard Paradym, my fitter made a couple distinct adjustments - first off, he put me in a 9* head, suggesting that it might help a bit more with spin & launch angle (most of my drivers in my AJ are pretty high as is) and he moved the heel weight to the "fade" position on the back of the club (note - the weight rail is only on the standard Paradym). In addition, my feedback on shaft feel was that both options felt a bit "muted", and I generally prefer a shaft with a bit more feel / snappiness. With this, he put me in the standard Ventus Blue (w/ Velocore) to try. Within 1-2 shots, I knew I was getting closer to ideal - spin & launch were much more favorable (low 2000s and launching at 12*) and I was achieving even better carry distance (averaging 10ish yards more than my AJ Max). In addition, my dispersion was MUCH better with the weight adjustment, hitting a very minimal baby draw each and every time.
However, before I packed it in, my fitter suggested trying out the "TR" version of the Ventus Blue, saying it would give a bit more "snappiness" in the middle of the shaft. After switching out, he was right (again) as the feel was more than ideal, without sacrificing any of the gains seen in the original VB.
Note - I had the opportunity to try out the Triple Diamond version, but knowing my proclivity for sub-par ball striking (at times), I decided it was worth to get a little bit more forgiveness and stay with the standard Paradym.
All-in-all, my final build specs were as follows:
- Paradym at 9* (neutral collar)
- Ventus TR Blue 6S
- GP Tour Velvet Mid-Size (no wraps)
Unboxing: After a short wait (10 days), it has arrived!!! Based on the previous reviews, I was bracing for a damaged box, but it looks like everything arrived intact!
Some initial thoughts:
- I agree with the other testers...the headcover must go. Its just a bit too much for my liking, but thats an easy switch out
- While most drivers are adjustable, its a bit strange that Callaway doesn't include an adjustment tool (especially for a $500+ club).
- Regardless of these two knocks, the club is absolutely beautiful - Callaway knocked it out of the park with the colorway and design.
Thats all for now - I'll plan to update this post after I get to the range and do a side by side comparison with my AJ.
Thanks!
Worth the review even if it is just for the shaft!

Not so much a golf deal, as these things are expensive. However some really cool headcovers available here! -

Allllllllll right, folks! It's 11:40, the Pool is set (68 players all said and done) and locked and paid for, so get those picks in. Be sure to select "email picks reminder" in your settings so you don't forget
Cannot wait!
Good luck to everyone except those of you who are good at this. I wish you nothing but late WD's and televised three-putts.
I made my picks on Monday... not even sure I remember who I picked... off to a great start Jamie.

Well what a morning!
What I thought would be a nice slow and relaxed morning has turned into quite a crazy day. Thankfully I think at least for the moment I am all caught up and ready to get on with the rest of the day. Meant to be posting and doing a bunch here on the forum, but alas it didn't happen.
Still looking for a few more responses to the driver feedback form and well even though I had mentioned there wasn't going to be a test this week on the call there was! It happened last minute and we got it all together. This one I am really looking forward to and am excited to see what our community has to say!

Awesome post! And thanks for sharing Jason.
I am excited to see how things progress from here with you. Knowing that your game has taken huge leaps forward and been improving steadily. I know golf ball has been something you also played around with a bit?Whats your absolute hands down favorite most trusted club in the bag?

That maybe some of the Spies can clear up.
When I got fitted two years ago, I expected him to put me on hybrids instead of long irons. No long irons all right (5i is my longest iron), but he said my swing was not suited to hybrids and he put me on a 7-wood instead, with the same loft as a 4-iron.
I didn't get clarification from him then (he no longer works there) and I'm wondering what it might have been that made me unsuited to hybrids. Any ideas?
Likely more that you have a sweeping type swing? Less divots which can help with woods.
That or the added height and ball speed from the fairway gapped better for you.

Have to come back to this thread where I dunked on Grayson Murray for a stupid tweet. I listened to his post round comments after he won Sony this past week and he seems like, at least right now, has made an attempt to make big changes in his life. Sounds like he was dealing with substance abuse and depression and while that doesn't excuse predatory behavior (if there was any) I will say I might be pulling for him in the future. I didn't like that he signed that open letter to the PGA Tour (seemed short sighted) but frankly he has a lot of talent and I would hate to see that wasted.
Like many who go through what he has I hope the narrative doesn't become just about his addiction. He has talent and hopefully it becomes a footnote in a very successful career.

I would worry finish on black or copper would look awful after a year or two. Maybe I am just hard on clubs!
I think these will be fine. After a ton of balls on sim it doesn't show.
I'll be able to further update in a month or so when I get them on course.

Interesting price. $10 cheaper I believe then the top, but would love to see how it compares to say a vice pro.

Looking for 20 or so more responses to the form above!
Have your chance at being quoted in the next MGS article!

Tomorrow I have scheduled a full first impressions in terms of feel and performance as well as more photos!
Stay tuned!
Also if we do not find a EU tester for the Arthur 2.0 the intention will be to bring it to the states in May and potentially have it as a giveaway for the outing ... need to get some more people active in this thread first!
