  1. I've hinted at it before and finally now I'll take the time to start this up. As many of us if not all of us I have an excess of clubs, some I likely won't ever use, some I just can't bring myself to sell for nastalgic reasons and others I found a great deal and price and will look to flip later. I'm very fortunate to do a good bit of travelling so rather then bringing the main sticks and risk damage on airlines and travel I'm going forth and officially building a go with me back up bag. So far I have putter, wedges and irons all sorted. The rest will come together over the next few months Putter - Ping Sigma Tyne.... Was my favorite putter ever and still love it to bits, but the stroke lab simply is better. Thankfully it gets a second life here. Wedges - Cobra Trusty Rusty Black Tour 52,56,60. Not my typical set up but with the irons this should make a good fit. I've always loved these wedges and rather then sitting and collecting dust they will now really get a chance to be nice and rusty! Irons - Cobra Fly Z Pro. I had the amp cell pros before moving to a more suitable club. Almost immediately after selling them I missed them dearly. I had been in a lookout for a new set for a bargain and finally found a set in pretty good shape for all of $150 cad... Missing a pitching wedge and 4 iron but still can't wait to get back on a course with them. 4 iron - purchased a while back and never got a good enough run due to i210 testing but back comes to Cobra forged tec 2016! Hybrid - TBD Fairway - TBD Driver TBD More pictures to follow along with updates! Let's hear some of yours or is this something you would do?
  2. I actually owned the amp cell pro, but sold them and regretted it right away. I had the ping ie1 and played so much better with them but always missed the look, feel and style of them. Don't get me wrong my i210 are still the irons to beat for me, but I will be putting a back up bag together with these. The fly z pros simply put are a stellar looking iron and I hope the performance is there to back it up. I know they won't be long, but still. May do a what's in the back up bag thread
  3. A set of irons that I love. Cobra Fly z pro... So pretty and just such a nice iron. Honestly not sure how much they will be in play, but can't wait to hit them. Also for the price they were hard to not pick up.
  4. Can't speak to the driver shaft, but I have two ping crossovers with evenflow black shafts. Love them and find it as a great compliment for my swing as well as club. I have tried them in a rogue before as well but didn't get along with the rogue so can't say much there. Good idea going to get fit, definitely think it would be worth while with all the different stock shaft offerings and options in general.
  5. Not so much a WITB update which will likely coming in the next month or so, but a little story and I didn't want to make a new thread so here goes. The last month and a bit I've been traveling for work in Europe and was fortunate to end up in Scotland for 11 days. What was originally going to be golf for ice maintenance (curling ice) work didn't pan out with the timing of the trips so as much as I wanted to I didn't figure I'd get a chance to. However by chance we had a full day off in the middle and the forecast looked good for February. The local crew I was working with went above and beyond and managed to scavenge up a left handed set (a LOT harder there then home) and booked me a tee time at the Gallway Golf course in Dumfries with another curling club member who had been a member there for 30 plus years and two of their of former captains. One who had been a member for nearly 50 years. The set was a Strata something... Basically big chunky cavity backs with small grips but stiff shafts so with no expectations, especially considering I hadn't golfed since September sometime. Part of the course was closed off due to wet conditions so we went around 9 holes twice and played off winter tees but the actual greens were in use and even with all the odds stacked against me I ended up with a great birdie on the first hole. Can't say long but pin straight drive with the noisiest drive I've ever used, solid wedge to 6 feet and a putt. Didn't keep complete track of the score as I was having way too much fun, the stories they had about some of the trees they planted in areas and the work that had been done along with a former captains being The Open championship winner way way back. Even after the round going in for drinks and hearing more stories was just incredible. The history, laughs and sheer enjoyment of being back on the golf course made for a incredible highlight on what was an amazing trip. In the end I love my clubs I have and the bag I've built, but put me on a course with a set of whatever and I'll be one of the happiest guys out there. Yes it was nice to play well and it's nice to have my own sticks, but when the company and course all combine and make for a day like that it's hard to beat.
  6. Sorry been flat out! Will take a look at something this evening. Between 4 club challenge and stroke lab testing/stage 2 and life not much time!
  7. Despite my best efforts to top my first round of the 4 club challenge no luck! Played 36 today and both 80. Can't help but feel there was a lot left out there. Anyway! 07/16/2019 Lost Creek Golf Club 68.2/127 Gross 79 2 iron, 6 iron, 9 iron, 54. Probably the most fun golfing I've had in a while and some stupid mental mistakes cost some brilliant rounds. But that's golf! Thanks again John it was a blast and thanks to mgs as well.
  8. Figure I'd chime in. Played first round yesterday with the 4 club Challenge (Thanks MGS and John for the invite!) Played pretty well and honestly made me think I could always play with 4 clubs. I may be wrong, but I believe @Nunfa0 and I are the only team to not take a driver? Guess we will see how that pays off... Hopefully will get another 2 cracks at it this week. With one sub 80 round in the books should be fun to see how low I can go! Here are some photos from the yesterday morning.
  9. There are many questions I have, but mine mainly pertains to Arccos and how you perceive the handicap system it uses. Do you believe it to be a accurate scope of your handicap now that you have a good baseline or is it screwed one way or another?
  10. Well I know where I want to golf next time there!
  11. I have a coin toss between Taylor and List. Both I believe have similar potential although List certainly has more major experience which I think could help. Likely a game time decision early Thursday morning.
  12. Update: June 10th, 2019 Have one new wedge coming in as well as two new additions at the top end. Those are both a 4 ping g410 crossover and 2 ping g 410 crossover. 4 iron is to help with a big of forgiveness with longer clubs and the 2 is for gapping/second option off the tee with all the wind we have been having!
  13. He's on my bench too. He was considered for the spot gay took, but really was all guess work.
  14. Not that it is a big deal, but should I be playing the same team in two matchups?
  15. Definitely fills out your team. Was happy to use some of that depth for hopefully a solid starting 4-6 guys. Will be really interesting to see how the next few weeks play out. Is there a trade deadline?
  16. Hoping at some point they get on a roll. Feel like there is enough depth there to get something done. Time will tell!
  17. Here is to hoping... Needed some sort of change else I was going to get stuck in 9th spot on the outside looking in. Playoff push!
  18. Just wet. Been a rough start to the season, but soon should see the weather turn for the better.
  19. This is a crazy week. Such a mess on so many fronts and some crazy cards out there. Happy I had two make the cut with only one on the bench who is doing well. Bubba missing the cut by one kinda stings, but should be good final matchups going into the weekend.
  20. A little luck would be nice! But I'd be fine with a split holding that last playoff spot for the moment. It is 8 each side that qualify? I know I should just look it up, but up till a few weeks ago I didn't think I had a chance haha Now that I've looked it up. Top 6.
