  1. Cool to see quite a few engineers on here. I have been doing structural engineering for the past 14 years. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  2. I improvised with what I had--hair dryer and this stuff called Goo Gone for cleaning the shaft--works great for getting stickers off. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  3. I got this very one. The one I got leaks from the the quick release valve which made it a pain to use--had to refill frequently--like every 1 or 2 clubs. I think I am going to take it back and see if I get get one that works a little better-I still have some adjustments to do. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  4. Thanks all for the tips. This was my first go at regripping so appreciate all the info. I used a lot of the advice posted above and it was helpful. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  5. I didn't end up finishing yet. I tried to do it during my kids nap time but that went shorter than anticipated and taking the old tape off is kind of a pain and by far the most cumbersome part. Next time I won't have that step so should go way quicker. Thanks everyone for all the helpful tips, I ended up using a lot of them. Picture is a preview...I could not decide on a color so...why not? 6. I ended up finding this kit off eBay from someone that puts them together for this purpose. Looks similar to the pure grip one but metal end instead of plastic. Plus came with some stuff I wanted to get anyway like a utility knife with a hooked end and a rubber piece for the vise. At $27 it was cheaper than just the pure grip gun. 7. I think I am going to go pick up a 3 gallon pancake compressor this weekend. I have a few upcoming house projects that I think that will be a good size for. My new grips came in the mail today so are ready to be put on as soon as I get the compressor. What are people using for solvent? I noticed it mentioned above for helping getting grips on/off. 8. Thanks all for the feedback, very helpful. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  9. I am looking into re-gripping my clubs soon and am interested in re-gripping with air. I am going with Pures which got me looking into the air method. I currently don't own an air compressor so looking for ideas on what the minimum air compressors out there that will get the job done. There looks to be ones with tanks in the $80 to $100 range and other small tankless 120V ones that are for car tires, bikes, etc. which are in the $20 to $30 range. From what I can tell you need about 50 to 100psi pressure for re-gripping. My other uses for it would probably small tasks like tires. Anyone using these small tankless ones for re-gripping? Trying to figure out if these small ones will be good enough. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  10. Edel? Wishon? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  11. I never got my hands on any of the first run. Hope to try these out in the second run. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  12. I picked up a used driver off of eBay that looked good in the pictures and was described as mint. Got it last week and found a huge scratch/scuff on the crown that was strategically not in view in the pictures. I asked the seller about it and they said they only used it for two rounds so it was "mint". I had to explain that is not what that word means and returned it for a refund...hassle for both of us. I wish people would not try to oversell on their descriptions. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  13. Ignoring my post above, I just picked up a new Srixon z355 driver off of eBay. Excited to try it out. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  14. Also, is this supposed to be a support group or something, like other anonymous groups? If so, I don't think we are doing it right. Golf addict #1: "I am thinking about buying a new club, but I don't know if I really need to." Golf addict #2: "You should definitely go for it, I just picked up a new one." Golf addict #1: "ok, you convinced me." Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  15. Let's start a friendly debate. I've been reading a lot of good things on this site about Evnroll and Edel putters. Both seem to emphasize custom fitting and both have some good looking putters in their lines. So for those of you that have tried them or own one, which do you prefer and why? 16. I have not but think it is an interesting idea, particularly in the longer irons. I wonder if you could get the F7 single length in the lower lofts, say 7i and up, but switch to the regular F7s for 8i and below. I think that having longer length irons for pw thru 8i would take some getting used to otherwise. Also makes for a big jump between your irons and wedges. Wishon also makes some single length irons that look pretty good. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  17. Thinking about the Bridgestone JGR driver or Srixon z355 driver. Want to try them both out but will probably wait until fall or next winter when they get replaced by the next cycle and go on sale. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  18. noted on your point about rating being about club forgiveness and not what is better. But even in this context it seems suspicious that their irons rate the highest in a point system that they determine. I do think the list is still fascinating--there are blades that rate more forgiving than CB's from the same manufacturer... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. If you sort the list by highest rating, 7 of the top 8 are Maltby irons. Seems like a black box rating system geared toward the manufacturer getting good marks on their own clubs. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  20. Nice bag. Srixon has some good looking irons right now. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  21. Great reviews everyone, thanks. Those are some good looking putters. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  22. Just picked up a used Srixon z 355 Hybrid for this season. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  23. My avatar photo is from his puppy days. This dog is a good 60lbs bigger now. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  24. Added a vote. Under 40 is still considered in the young half, right?
  25. RIP Nike golf clubs. The Origin putters are great. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
