Loved seeing Harman win. He's such a good guy. I remember seeing him play in the Heritage tournament in Harbour Town when he was just a kid getting invites because he was a local golfer. He used to wear pants that were way too long and the bottoms were all torn up because he would walk on them. I remember him wearing an old, dirty pair of FootJoys that looked like they were several years old. I thought he had a good game. He wasn't long but he had a great swing and he could putt lights out. He never used to do all of the waggles back then. In fact, he was a very fast player so I'm not sure what happened between then and now. Good to see him going back to Titleist!

The LZ 5.5 is touted as being between a Reg and a Stiff. Personally, I think the PX shafts play a little stiffer than others so I think the 5.5 is closer to a stiff. I also think they launch the ball lower than the KBS Tour 90's do. Best thing to do is hit them both. Everybody's swing is different.

Yep, I remember people saying the same thing. I used to play the Lady before the Laddie came out. I think someone on Tour won a tournament playing with the Lady ball and that's how it became popular (unless that was also a rumor). I saw the Laddie's at my local golf stores last summer but when I tried to buy some for this winter I couldn't find them anywhere. I also tried to buy some for my nephew for Christmas (he's just getting into the game) and still couldn't find any. Maybe my local stores are simply sold out and there may be some supply chain issues, like with so many other things. Thanks for the link. Gotta love that double-dozen pack for a buck a ball.

I grew up in the Toledo area and played a lot of golf. My Uncle, who taught me the game, was a member at Inverness so I got spoiled when I was young. As I got older and had to pay for my own golf I found plenty of good courses in the area. Some of my favorite courses are : The Legacy, Whiteford Valley, Riverby, Tamaron, Stone Ridge, Ottawa Park, Maumee Bay Resort, Heather Downs, Detwiler, and Bedford Hills. Also Belmont, Toledo CC, Highland Meadows, Sylvania CC, and Brandywine CC when I could get on. I'll also give a shout out to Spuyten Duyval GC for the "most improved". It used to be a 1-course dog track when I was a kid (we used to call it "Spit and Divot") but I was there a few years ago and they've expanded and improved quite a bit. I also played a course with my dad and brother in law while I was visiting awhile back called Fallen Timbers and it was a decent track.

Did they stop making the Precept Laddie? That was my go-to winter ball for many years (along with the Lady). They used to come in the big, square box (15 or 18 pack) for dirt cheap and I always thought they were a great ball for the money. This winter I picked up some Wilson Duo's and they're not bad. A little too soft though, even in the winter. I also grabbed some Noodles and they're alright.

I always liked that ball too. I also like the Precept Laddie and will use them in the winter months when I can find them. Otherwise I will use a Noodle, Wilson Duo, or Callaway Super Soft in the winters. All under $40 (som,e way under). Summertime I switch to either a ProV or a Bridgestone RX. I'll hit a TP5 once in awhile too.

I'll probably try the new AVX's just to see how they've changed, but I tried them last year and didn't really care for them. Although with them costing $50 they would have to be really good in order to change from the ProV's, and I just don't see that happening.

Byron was such a great guy and he made some terrific putters. I have a 612 from him that I absolutely love. I used to love going to his section on the old PutterTalk site and see all of the putters he was pumping out for people. Since I live in SC I was hoping to meet him in person (and order another putter from him) after he moved to GA. I will always regret not contacting him sooner after he moved east. He will be sorely missed for his putters and his class. Prayers to his wife and family and may he RIP.

I'm a local to the area and I would say that Harbour Town is worth the price of admission for most golfers coming here on vacation. You may not score your best, especially for those playing it for the first time, but you will have fun and it's usually in great condition. It's definitely one of those courses that you need to play a few times in order to score better. If you miss it to the wrong areas (even the wrong side of the fairway on some holes) your score will suffer. The new Clubhouse is fantastic too. Great food and the staff treats you like a Pro. Have fun!

Bryson got robbed at the Masters. Should have been a plugged ball and he shouldn't have had to re-tee. the TV camera had a good enough line on it to give them a narrow area to look. Love how the spotter found and gave Bryson his ball on the next hole. Talk about rubbing salt in the wound.

I was a ProV1 guy for years. When they started having having durabuility issues a few years ago I started experimenting with other balls. Went to the Bridgestone B330s and liked them a lot. Used the B330RX and liked the feel of them even more. Now I play the Callaway Chrome Soft and absolutely love them. Played a round with the Titleist AVX and didn't care for them. Just tried the TM TP5 last week and liked them, especially in the wind. Might give them another try this weekend.
