  1. maxfli irons... I think this was my first set from Costco - in a box. their revolution irons are highly prized
  2. WOW !! Congrats Alan... hoping for a quick and easy sale of your house. awesome promotion and what a duty station.
  3. What he has done the last few years to increase his distance as a 50+ year old is really impressive...
  4. as someone who has lost at least 2 LRF one suggestion I would make (if you have an iPhone, not sure about Android) is to attach an airtag to the LRF. These things can get expensive and with the airtag I know right away when I've left it behind and pretty much where it's at.
  5. haven't heard of it but thanks for the warning; I'll be avoiding Todd Kolb.
  6. one can easily shave strokes off without even taking a swing. just by thinking more strategic and smarter on the golf course.
  7. I'm an all-weather golfer (except pouring rain) - the only time I feel miserable is when it's raining heavy; other than that, if the ground's not frozen I'm going to try and play. This - During the Winter when our Pro Shop is closed, Socials can play free Winter Golf to the extent weather permits. - is one of the primary reasons I joined a local club near me this year. FREE WINTER GOLF has my name all over it. With that being said, I think the course "officially" opens at the end of March?
  8. a great description of Will Z, how he injured his back and what he's changed...
  9. 1000 percent agree - and what I might add is that it doesn't have to be muscle building i.e. getting larger; using weights to train is just as important as cardio and flexibility training. you will feel better and perform better.
  10. UK and Australia in one test - that's awesome! Kudos to Runner for opening this up internationally. I'll def be following along. I wonder if @SDunne has played on any of those sand greens in Australia I read about?
  11. https://www.amazon.com/01-02-015-Dustproof-Waterproof/dp/B09TZB73PX/
  12. I need a hc for my new-to-me mallet... this looked cool...
  13. some things that helped me get to single numbers... prioritize accuracy... and by that, I mean stop losing balls. I know everyone says hit driver everywhere and forget about fairways but if you think there's a 50 or more % chance that using a driver will lead to a lost ball don't do it. this will easily save you 2-3 strokes and some $$$ too. no more 3 putts.... work on LAG putting to a comfortable distance. stop practicing making 15-20 foot putts; you just won't make very many of those. work on making 2-4 footers (20 in a row) and lagging the ball inside 2-4 feet from 20+... another couple strokes - easily. aim and alignment... one of THE most overlooked aspects. before you even swing the club make sure you're positioned well for a good shot and your body is aimed properly - i.e. shoulders/hips/knees/feet all going in the same direction. don't be afraid to take your time doing this. really sucks to hit a shot out of the center of the face only for it to go off in one direction because you weren't lined up/aimed properly. greenside in regulation.... GIR's are awesome and one of the quickest ways to lower your score but that can be hard. Try to be greenside in regulation.... at the very least you can chip on and maybe get it close enough to one putt. bunkers.... unless you're comfortable stop looking at the pin when in the bunker. get it on the green should be your focus. once you've mastered that you can aim at the pin. finally --- there's no such thing as a bad bogey. if you're in the trees play it smart - punch out, wedge up, 2 putt and move on. don't make a bad situation worse. oh, and expectations - you might make 1 or 2 birdies but that's not your focus; make nothing worse than bogey... the pars will be there.
  14. the best spy of them all .... or was he a secret agent ???
  15. I'd probably keep the driver headcover as it has special meaning to me but my other woods I would do it. how about mallet or blade putter covers?
  16. gooooooooooood wet and rainy morning from SE of Boston.... I suppose the rain is a good thing; makes everything nice and green for us to go out and chase the white ball around (or yellow, or red, or green, or...) nothing like waking up to a "High Priority Defect" waiting for you... suppose I better switch gears and figure out what's going on.... looking forward to the community call tonight. If you haven't tried it I suggest jumping on. You don't have to speak or even turn your camera on if you don't want to. some good conversations and lighthearted funny moments. have a great day everyone!
  17. I was hoping you would jump in here Your putter collection is one of the best I have ever seen
  18. wow - Exputt looks awesome; I wonder if when you set your putter down, the face closes or opens? also - do you hover the putter or sole it on the turf? 33 putts per round is really good. Fewer than 2 putts per hole is nice.
  19. 100% with you - I did the same a couple years ago. saved a bunch of money - the cable bill for tv was outrageous - and I could even add some streaming channels. FYI - if you have TMobile you get a discount on both Netflix and Apple TV... also, if you no longer want to continue with a sub go to cancel and you'll get a reduced rate on the next page. I've done this and have gone from 7.99 per month to 3.99...
  20. my league the last 2 years was match play and I don't ever recall rooting against an opponent. what I do pay attention to is when they make a mistake and trying to capitalize on it - i.e. both of them are OB so I might take a "safer" club to not join them OB
  21. If you're thinking about true I suggest checking out the second chance section - https://truelinkswear.com/collections/second-chance-footwear? the shoes are very expensive and you can save a lot of $ on shoes folks have returned that didn't fit and are in nearly new condition. low drop/zero drop shoes take a bit of getting used to but I find them very comfortable.
