  2. The scores were out there for sure. I just had a few bad holes tbh. Got over the nerves pretty quickly and my confidence is through the roof, knowing that I can still manufacture my way around even without my A game. I will say all I could think about for six holes in the final round was that I was under par need to work on staying in the moment a bit more.
  3. Last day was an 80. Significantly better today as I was able to work out the shanks. Thru 7 holes I was actually -1 on the day. Had one blowup triple but otherwise was very consistent. Finished solo 13th so I was in the top half of my field. For my first tournament experience I am chalking this up as a success. Made 5 birdies throughout the 3 days so my game wasn’t too far off, just need to not have shanks coming into the week. Thank you again for all of the advice getting ready for this thing I am for sure going to play again in an tournament atmosphere! I loved it
  4. Backed up my Day 1 84 with an 85...I was E thru 4 and finished the turn at +7, with a triple on the card. Held it together until hole 13 where I took a quadruple bogey. +13 thru 13 basically shot me out of contention. Rallied for back to back birdies the following two holes to get it back +11 on the day but faded down the stretch to finish out at +15 (85). Been fighting the shanks all week, I'm not sure why they have decided to invade my swing this week but... I played 3 holes +9 today, that was the killer. I was proud of rallying for the back to back birds after the quad, because honestly, I was ready to eject. Won't be in the money but I am gunning for a top 10 or top 15 on the leaderboard by day 3's end. Thanks for any of you who are following this tournament experience!
  5. Shot an 84 in the first round today. Just turned in my card so I’m not sure where I stand but I’m guessing at least 8 off the lead. Was grinding it out and hovering around +10 (80) on the day when I dunked one on 18…I’ll give a full recap tonight!
  6. For sure! Loved my time up there. Can’t wait to go back, still have some friends in the area. Gotta hit up Passaconnaway again.
  7. Yes!!! First course I ever played! Brutal if I remember right. I Was really really young at the time, would LOVE to go back and go play it again. Beautiful area there around the Merrimack! Loved my time up north great people in NH. Nice break from the heat down here
  8. Lived in Litchfield right between Nashua and Manchester! Lived there a solid 5 years in Elementary and Middle school! Really cool area. Honestly all of NH is a bit underrated IMO
  9. Got a response from Rev himself! This is gold. Thank you for sharing! I love the practice advice. I just had a range session where I was EXTREMELY focused on having a purpose for everything that I did. It was one of the best sessions I have had ever. Not in that I was hitting every shot perfectly but by the end I knew that what I had done would translate to the course. Two days later I played a 9-hole Thursday night scramble at a course here in OKC and jarred one from 70 yards out for eagle and won 2nd in the flight. Hoping to keep playing in that each week as a lead up to the tournament to help foster some good feels in a semi-pressured situation.
  10. I can't add much that hasn't already been said. New membership is always the lifeblood of a forum. I mean I joined looking for research and found the test signups. I got selected to test the Cleveland RTX-3 wedges later that year. It was awesome! They certainly have their place in encouraging new members to stay. Becoming more involved in MGS truly has been amazing. I feel like I know people on here and we've never even met! Members here offer advice and encouragement that is genuine, no matter the level or forum standing of the person. It's amazing. Having the space to voice my golf obsession and people actually listen is such a good thing. Would love to hear from HQ the place that the forum has within the MGS organization as I fell as though the forum members help push the MGS message out there. As far as improvements that mods could make currently, I think the weekly and majors contests have been really good! Perhaps MGS merch could be used as prizes instead of Golden Tickets. One of the things I like about the forum is getting to know people around the forum. Something like a monthly or bi-monthly member feature would be kind of cool. Maybe something like the AMA spotlights that were done in the last few months. IDK just a thought. TLDR: I love the forum and the opportunities it provides. Would love to know where it fits in HQ's outlook.
  11. That seems to be the most popular advice that I am getting! Planning to make a day of it each day, the wife has even agreed to ride along with me for one of the days. I truly appreciate the tips y'all! Everyone has been so encouraging about this! I can't wait to tee it up now. It took me 2 years to muster up the courage to just go out and do it. The ultimate goal, for now at least, is to compete in the OGA Oklahoma Open at some point down the line. Where you at in NH? I lived in NH for 6 years during my later elementary and early middle school years.
  12. I have played it a few times before and actually caddied for a buddy in the A Flight of this tournament last year. I know it a decent amount but I haven't seen the course in close to a year. Planning on getting a practice round in here in a week or two. Even if I shoot 100 I'm still gonna have a blast. Thanks for the advice!
  13. THIS! Underrated advice for sure. Been planning this out for the last week or so and I think I have a winning formula. Gonna be extremely hot so this might be just as important as anything else that week! 3-5 footers. They count just as much as the drive right? Time for the PuttOut Love the advice on sticking to the plan. I struggle sometimes with pressing the "eject" button when things go sideways during rounds. Thinking about writing myself some sort of note to remind me to stick to the game plan. Wouldn't have thought about taking to time to ID the ball every time and ensure rulings. Great advice! Appreciate the responses everyone! I'll be sure to post how each day goes.
  14. Golf replaced what baseball used to be for me and I am now ready to go out and make a fool of myself! Should be a blast!
  15. Hey fellow spies. One of my goals this past year has been to start challenging myself to play some golf tournaments as the next step in my golf journey. As such, I am due to play in a 3-round stroke play tournament on 4th of July weekend. I have never played in a individual stroke play event so I am looking for some tips and tricks for any spies that have. Seriously, any suggestions are quite welcome.
  16. Big shoutout to MGS and Titleist for such an awesome prize! I'm hoping I can place in the top 100! Will be fun to follow along.
  17. Been gaming Tours for the last few years. Good ball. The new versions from last year are even better than the first version! Imo the Tour and Tour X are easily one of the best values in golf!
  18. Went to my first Pro event at the PGA at Southern Hills. This was the thing that stuck with me is how freaking high they launch it. With ANY club. I was mesmerized.
  19. Just got this beauty in today from Sub70: Finally have 14 clubs again!
  20. Sad to see him struggle so much. Hoping the swing changes finally take hold for him.
  21. Gotta say, not surprised at all about a few of these. Honestly, DJ going isn't surprising either, the guy hasn't really cared about anything ever, so this move is very on-brand. Disappointed by Gooch for sure. I guess people will really do just about anything to set themselves and their family up for life. Which to a certain extent I get but seems like a justification.
  22. Gotta say, the chrome doesn't look all that bad tbh. Can't imagine it wears very well though.
  23. Gonna watch as well. One of the best characters of the whole franchise!
