  1. Morning all! Had an early session at the indoor range today. The place was completely empty, so I suppose everyone’s playing outside today. On one hand, I feel like the wimp that couldn’t golf in 35°F weather. On the other hand, It’s cozy and warm in there. @sirchunksalot Ugh, what a terrible Monday. Hope you get your car fixed. Have a good one!
  2. @GolfSpy_BEN For the time being, I’m playing an exec/intermediate 9-hole twice for 18 holes. All told, it’s a par 58. It has a slope and rating. It still okay to submit scores from here until I’m able to get on a regular 18-hole course?
  3. I’ve updated my bag recently, and so it’s somewhat untested outside on the course. I have been happy with my Cobra Grandsport 35 putter. It’s a pleasure to hit.
  4. Heyo! The weekend morning has turned into a bit lazy start. It’s just enough to justify having an early lunch before digging into some household chores and yard work. I’m a master of weekend procrastination.
  5. I spent a short time in Florida once and noticed that every house had plastic flamingos in the yard. You wouldn’t happen to be a native Floridian by chance?
  6. As an outsider with zero knowledge of the industry, the biggest equipment debates in my head are, has golf equipment become overly dependent on technology? Have major golf OEMs entered a sort of unhealthy, unsustainable “arms race”? Will DTCs make a sizable impact on the market that’ll affect the prices of Callaway, TaylorMade, Ping and others?
  7. @sirchunksalot @Dead Solid Bogey Gen Xer here, grew up on automatics in the flat Midwest. After moving to hilly San Fran, I ended up learning to use a manual for the first time—in a U-Haul truck. It was pure baptism by fire. Now I dread the day manuals will no longer be available.
  8. I just set myself up with balls this season, but I am curious about it. Not sure how it compares to their pro soft.
  9. This is a great news bad news sort of post. I haven’t kept up with the NHL. Losing the Thrashers can’t be great—and I’ve always wondered how the southern teams fared fan wise.
  10. Morning all. I’ll be honest, I’m a tad frustrated with the weather. It’s dipped into colder temps, and sunny/cloudy days have given way to rain. I hate cold rain. I might have to recalibrate my dream of playing a beautiful course in Scotland someday. All this to say that I might be back at the indoor range next week. There’s a lyric from Queen’s song that runs through my mind about the sim range: I want to break free from your lies You're so self satisfied, I don't need you I've got to break free That’s a bit dramatic, but I can’t help but think I’m pretending golf when I’m playing around in there. Still, it’s a workout of sort, and I’m paid through the month. Have a good one all.
  11. Just a nice job, @Rob Person. Your improvement is skyrocketing.
  12. Afternoon all. Busy, rainy morning. Had a second breakfast, and I’m still hungry. Yesterday was a big open sky. Have a good one!
  13. @buckpillar best hopes for you MIL and family.
  14. Morning all. Overnight freezing temps, but a sunny 46°F (8°C) outside. Starting up a personal project in the shop, and frankly, I’m a little nervous and excited about it. It’s been a while since I made a piece of furniture. This’ll either go fantastically well, spiraling downwardly to a horrific crash, or somewhere in between. But like golf, just gotta believe in my strokes and find my groove. Speaking of which, yesterday’s golf was a bit of a mixed bag. Hoping to get out sometime tomorrow. Have a good one, all.
  15. Well, I had a the messiest +9 on my l’il nine-hole today. I thinned so many shots, it’s a wonder I made onto the green at all. Most of my chipping seems to be working. Things are working in the right direction, and hopefully I get out more to prove it.
  16. Thanks! He’s pretty special.
  17. Went to bed seeing Nicolai Højgaard atop the leaderboard at -7 after 10 holes, woke up to find him finish at -2 after a string of bogeys. Oh, that’s tough!
  18. Morning all. Community call was good! Always a pleasure to hang out. @cksurfdude congrats on your home improvement mission accomplished! That’s always a satisfying feeling. Nice write-up @GolfSpy_APH! After Day-ish 1 of the Masters I’ve exceeded my expectations in the pool! I assumed that I’d be in the mid/low hundreds, took a look this morning and found that I’m #255! Go Nicolai Højgaard! This is probably my best ranking in the times I’ve joined the pool, so I figure, why not celebrate? Have a good one all.
  19. @tdroma98 Thanks! Wife’s doing sort of better. She broke the fever, but the joint pain at night is up and down. It’s bit of two steps forward, one step back. Let’s hope this weekend.
  20. The Levi jeans pocket, I know of. And in the past I have had dress pants with a small pocket sewn on at the bottom inside a regular pants pocket. My suit pants were pleated and roomy in the front, so I just assumed the pocket was there to stop change from jingling. I remember them because I used to slide my hand in the pocket and get one of my fingers caught up in it.
  21. Look at the cherry blossoms! When my dad had cataract surgery, he didn’t need to wear glasses for some years afterward, since his vision became 20/20. Does that make sense? @Wheelieb Ugh. That sounds painful. The dry needling technique sounds pretty interesting, though.
  22. Morning all! Redownloaded my Master’s app. Can’t remember who I picked to win, but I’m sure I’ll finish the pool in the mid-100s. Hopefully will make the community call. See you then.
  23. In suit/dress pants, I took them to be originally for change so it won’t jingle while walking. If it’s the same in golf pants and a single marker, well, yeah, that would be annoying, since it’s not convenient to fish it out. I imagine tees can get stuck in them as well, which may or may not be a good thing.
