  1. What’s the talk up in Seattle? Is there thinking that Garoppolo will eventually join the Seahawks?
  2. Wait. I didn’t know that naming clubs was really a thing. I mean, I’ve watched a YouTuber that has referred to his clubs by name, but I just figured it’s because he’s English. Okay, final guess. I voted Sub70, but I’m thinking you went with PXGs. Can’t wait for pics.
  3. A little humor across the pond ... Michael O’Leary, Chief Executive of Ryanair checked into a hotel in Manchester, went to its bar and asked for a pint of Guinness. The bartender said, "That will be £1 please, Mr. O’Leary." Taken aback, O'Leary replied, "That's very cheap," and handed over his money. "We do try to stay ahead of the competition", said the barman. "We have the cheapest beer in England." "That is remarkable value," observed O'Leary. "I see you don't have a glass, you'll need one of ours. That will be £3 please." O'Leary scowled, but paid up. He took his drink and walked towards a seat. "Ah, you want to sit down?" said the barman. "That'll be an extra £2. If you'd pre-booked it would have cost £1." O'Leary swore to himself, but paid up. "I see you've brought your laptop" added the barman. "That wasn't pre-booked either, that's another £3." O'Leary was so incensed and his face was red with rage. "I've had enough! I insist on speaking to a manager!" "Here is his e-mail address, or if you wish, you can contact him between 9:00 am and 9:10 am every morning, Monday to Tuesday. Calls are free unless answered, then there is a charge of only £1 per minute". "I will never use this bar again!" "OK but do remember, we are the only hotel in England selling pints for £1."
  4. The folks who resigned from the Tour—do they have an easier way back in, should they want it?
  5. How would one renounce a LIV contract? Isn’t that breach of contract?
  6. Sorry if this has been asked/answered, but I’m curious, what happens to the IP and dyes? Do the designs just get tossed, or is someone likely to buy them up and put them out there under a different name?
  7. I wouldn’t call it bad. But in the grand scheme of things I don’t remember #83 top song of any year I’ve lived, the #83 best QB in the NFL, the #83 best tennis player in men’s singles … It’s great for the one holding the position, but as a spectator—meh.
  8. To be fair, chisag didn’t open the door for this latest round.
  9. Did another clue just slip through? I think it’s narrowed down to two choices.
  10. A man walked up to a farmer one day. Pointing to the hound next to him, he asked the farmer, “Do you mind if I talk to your dog?” ”You can try,” the farmer scoffed, “but I doubt he’ll answer back.” The man asked the dog, “Is he your owner?” ”Yep,” the dog said. ”How does he treat you?” The man asked. ”He’s wonderful. I get two meals a day and lots of treats. We go for long walks in the morning and evening, and he let’s me sit by the fire in the winter.” ”That’s amazing!” The farmer said. The man pointed at the stable and asked, “Mind if I talk to your horse?” ”Sure, go ahead. I don’t know what he’d say.” The man walked up to the horse and pointing to the farmer he asked, “Is that guy your owner?” ”Yep.” The horse replied. ”How does he treat you?” The man asked. “He’s a terrific person. I live in a warm stall. I get to graze to my heart’s delight, and we go riding out on the countryside often. It’s a wonderful life.” The farmer was shocked. “That’s incredible!” Then the man pointed toward the field. “Do you mind if I talk to your sheep?” The farmer replied, “That sheep’s a liar!”
  11. It's one of the benefits of being a full-fledged club member.
  12. Thanks all. Next time at the store, I’ll look for one to try out. In the past, I’ve struggled hitting any iron lower than a 5, so I’ve just relied on my hybrid. But I’m willing to give it a go.
  13. I suppose the question begs, if Tiger Woods had started his career playing on the LIV tour, would he have reached the same level as a player throughout his career?
  14. That’s a pretty tall order. If there are 18 groups on the course, that means 18 sets of announcers, 18 technical directors, 18 replay editors, etc. I mean, if you have a supposed bottomless pit of a budget and the sky’s the limit, then sure, why not? Or it’ll be more like watching C-SPAN-style coverage where you’re using your remote to switch channels. And that might be the way things go. I haven’t watched much of the LIV coverage on YouTube, but if what you’re saying is happening, then it sounds like someone in charge of determining what makes good television, and this only natural. Viewers want to see the leaders and the chasers, not the also-rans.
  15. When I was living in the Bay Area during one drought year, deer made their way out of the hills to look for food in among neighborhoods further in towns than usual. Then it was apparent that mountain lions were following their food, the deer. People were told to keep their small dogs inside during that summer. I remember meeting mean raccoons but luckily no mountain lions.
  16. I don't really get what it is. Why would I use it? Is it a modified 3-iron?
  17. I understand the benefit to the player that joins the LIV tour, it’s pretty evident. But the travel and preparation involved, the training, obligations to sponsors—that’s true for any professional player in another sport. I don’t know, sports, especially pro sports, has always had a an element of inspiration attached to it. Young folks want to be the next Serena Williams, Roger Federer, LeBron James, Tom Brady, or Tiger Woods. I don’t think a child learns to say, “When I grow up, I want to be the next Tiger Woods. But with an easier schedule.”
  18. I don’t know. I guess I’m a simple guy. I’ve tried watching LIV on YouTube, and I get pretty confused about what is going on, which hole—as in, how many holes have been played so far—they’re all playing. I like the regular tour format, no matter how long it takes, because it’s linear. Everyone starts at point A and ends at point B. I’m sure the analogy’s been made, but cutting out the forth round in my book is like running a tennis league where the tournaments are best of 3 instead of 5. How is that better for the spectator, the player or the sport? Since when was a test of endurance and stamina in professional sports a deal breaker? Put another way, when did guaranteed mediocrity become a good reason to join a league?
  19. What’s the worst a LIV golf player can do and still get paid? Is there some sort of performance review?
  20. Professional golf may or may not be changed forever, but my game will always be what it is.
  21. “Relentless action.” – LIV golf announcer Not sure that’s how I’d describe what I’m watching. Personally, I like it when I just watch one group of players play a round of golf.
  22. According to LIV’s site, the event will be streaming on FB, YouTube and their own site. It also looks like they’ll have a similar production setup as any televised tournament. In this case, any sponsorship money would flow directly back to SA, so I’m not sure that it matters these days whether a network airs it. https://www.livgolf.com/news/liv-golf-announces-broadcast-innovation-unprecedented-access-for-global
  23. It’ll be on YouTube, so I might catch it to see how it’s covered. But if you’re really looking forward to watching something alternative to pga or DP golf, I’d suggest disc golf.
  24. Dustin Johnson, Sergio Garcia, Kevin Na … I’m a very casual fan when it comes to watching professional golf, but I think I’m to see a pattern here. Are there any players joining the LIV tour that can be considered fan favorites?
  25. Not bad. Thanks much for offer details on why you have what you have. Your irons are looking good. A while back I replaced my Mizuno MX-23s with a used set of JPX 900s, and there are days when I miss my old set. I think that's a lesson for me: old clubs that still work should stay in the bag.
