Liberty Ball Markers got a reaction from Shifty in Has YouTube made you better or worse?
I won't watch instruction videos. A wise man once said to never take swing advice from someone who has never seen your swing.
I have a good buddy that I play with once a week. Every week, he shows up touting a new swing tweak that he got from a video. Every week by the end of the front 9, he abandons his tweak, and every week he struggles to break 90. Every week he talks as we pack up to leave about not understanding why he's not getting any better...

I'm not sure how the duracoat stuff works, but you can torch it and then scuff parts back to satin.
Might be able to do the whole head and then wire wheel the finish off the face?
This is not mine, but an example:

I don't like the ones with a super flat profile...
My fav for quite awhile now is the superstroke mid-slim 3.0. Big enough to help keep my wrists still, just flat enough up front to know which direction I'm going.

That's some pro-level $hit right there!
Makes my $1 rubber vise insert and loose roll of tape look kinda sad...

Liberty Ball Markers got a reaction from Rickp in Post your current handicap
My biggest issue right now is focus (or concentration, or whatever). I'll be even or under at the turn, and all of a sudden just lose it... blow up a couple holes, then realize I need to get my life together. Once I re-focus, finish strong. It's that 2-3 holes where it goes away that create my current handicap...

I also figured out quickly that this was the only site without all of the huge egos. Feels like home here, and that's pretty rare on the internet anymore.

Liberty Ball Markers reacted to Krispy in How'd you play?
Shot an 88 after a 10 on the sixteenth (some very unfortunate bounces...) I gave away 8 strokes on two holes. Bright side is I had two birdies on the front nine and made some long putts.

Just came back from Kansas City golf trip where I pretty much played like garbage. No confidence with the driver and little confidence with the swing. Hope the red tie driver shaft will help when it comes in (even if just mentally).

Liberty Ball Markers reacted to BIG STU in Preferred Putter Grips?
Yep you are 100% correct. The Ping Man grip used to be the only grip that came on Ping Putters> In my younger days I was a big Ping putter fan so I got used to the size and feel. I also like the size and feel of the old Royal Grip cord putter grip which they do not make any more. I bought about 20 of them on a close out deal a few years back. They are on most of my putters and I use air to put my grips on so it is no problem to pull one off and switch. Actually it is harder these days to find what I call an old school stock standard putter grip. Most golf shops do not sell them. I ended up getting 5 Ping man grips from Maltby. One of my buddies at a shop told me that standard old school putter grips do not sell well at retail any more. Seems like to me they manufacturers are trying to force you to use larger flatter grips. If my grips run out I still know how to build up and wrap a leather grip to my specs. And yes Tiger did use a Pingman grip for years on his Scotty. For purposes he blacked out the white Ping Man and logo. In fact they sell a blacked out version of the grip which is the same price. Originally he blacked it out with a Sharpie

I played yesterday morning. Rained a lot Friday and overnight, and stopped just as we took off on the 1st hole.
Super soggy, came home splattered with mud, 9 over.
Gonna try again later this morning!

I really like the 716 MB's and CB's. I can't stand the look of GI irons. But since all of the clubs now a days are "game improvement" irons... I'll go with:
Ping iBlade for players/MB it's a twofer, I love the minimal branding.
Titleist AP1's for GI... I guess.
