  1. Most unique course I’ve ever played was Tobacco Road in NC. And I hated it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. 81 with three doubles. One thanks to a topper three wood into a penalty area, one from a smoked 6 iron over the back of a green and lost (followed by some crap wedge play) and one thanks to more crap wedge play. I need wedge practice badly! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Try Shepherds Hollow and The Orchards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. SWEET golf course! Had a great time there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hacked it around for 89. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Depending on what happens with the driver I may go looking for a 3W also. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Original Rocketballz 9.5 with a Miyazaki C. Kua 43R. Looking for lighter, higher launch, faster, etc. Had lots of success w RBZ back in the day. Hoping for more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. 41-40=81. Two birdies, 29 putts. 71% fairways. 5 up-and-down. Three doubles including on #1 and #2 thanks to early tee time and no range time. Still, happy w the score all considered, really happy w putting, and my chipping and pitching were much better than they have been for weeks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. IMO nothing feels like a Titleist Players glove but the Kirkland are nice enough, especially for the coin. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Similar to the Golf Channel analyst: Dave Marr Sr. many years ago on a telecast: “Boy that ball really slowed down as it lost speed.” [emoji15][emoji15][emoji15][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Nice! The Bluffs is amazing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Come about 45 miles south to my home course, Cherokee Valley Golf and Club. Semi private. Affordable. Scenic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I find them to not get as stiff and crusty as quickly as the prior Callaway grips. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I like them just fine. Good quality and durability. Not as thin and supple as a Titleist Tour, but definitely more durable. I’ll keep buying them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Greg in South Carolina Yes SkyCaddie, Shot Link, Arccos, iPhone apps Arccos
  16. I replaced my Srixon 5-wood with a Hogan VKTR 18* hybrid with a Recoil Smacwrap F4 shaft. I MURDER this club, tee or deck, with a great trajectory and distance. Consistently straight as well. Much more consistent than the 5-wood all around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I have quite a few rounds in with the RX. Nothing remarkable about the ball, good or bad, except that it definitely spins more than the earlier iteration of the ball. I have to alter my approaches with chips and pitches because the ball checks so aggressively. Not sure they are better for me than my preferred Srixon ZStar. But definitely a good ball and the cover is much improved. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I have the Accelerator II model and really like it. Looks like the mall joe diffs with the Pro model are the markings and the ball return design. Good trainer though IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I have been testing the RX. On the positive side, I think the Reactiv cover really does the job on shorter shots. I’ve found that I’ve had to adjust my strategy on short shots around the green, because this ball really checks up and rolls less on all kinds of chips and pitches. A noticeable difference compared to my usual ZStar. But the jury is still out on these because I suspect that they’re a fair bit shorter than the ZStar. I seem to be about a club shorter with irons and wedges, and possibly woods as well, but I haven’t had much opportunity to test them side by side with the ZStars yet. That’s why I haven’t completed my official review. I’d like to get a couple of casual rounds in where I can play both balls from the same locations to check into this. Thanks for the patience. 20. Hit a really solid shot with my PTXPro 4-iron. Heard this whizzing noise then a thump. The head of my 4-iron came off the shaft. It was on the next tee box forward. Fortunately the shaft is not damaged. Just loose epoxy. FYI. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I’ve not been able to play as much as I hoped to this winter, with a combination of work, health, and poor weather impacting playing time. But I hope to play this weekend, and have a par 3 tourney next weekend. I should then be ready to post my review. Thanks for the patience.
  22. I hope to get to the range or course this weekend so I can finish my evaluation and then my review. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Gonna be a bit chilly here in SC tomorrow (low to mid 50s) but I’ll be out tomorrow giving the RX another go. Report to follow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Yes I believe the RX is a good fit for my game. And yes I’m surprised. From what I can tell it spins more than the old RXS around the greens. I like it a lot. Wouldn’t mind testing the RXS too. Anyone want to trade 6 or a dozen? [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Got to play my first round with the RX yesterday. Haven’t been able to play for three weeks so I was a bit rusty. Some background: my ball of choice is the Srixon ZStar. They scored very well in the MGS reviews and worked well for me, especially with the irons and woods. But they didn’t seem to be great around the greens. As for me I’m just north of 60 and a bit north of 275. [emoji44] I’ve been playing since my early 20s and after a career low index of 3.8 I’m now floating around 10.5. I’m a pretty good putter, and fairly accurate off the tees (65-70%). The key to my game, especially around our home (semi-private) course is hitting greens or getting up and down. The greens are relatively small and most are elevated, making short game performance even more challenging. So short game performance is very important. I was surprised when Bridgestone recommended the RX for me, I think because I was rusty and inadequately warmed up when I filmed my video. I think my day to day swing speed is higher than what they estimated but whatever. I average 250-60 or so off the tee, 7-iron distance (PTxPro btw) is 160. Regardless I was grateful for the opportunity to be a tester. One of the things I struggle with is trajectory with the driver. Some of that is swing, I’m sure, but it’s something I look for in ball selection. I was quite pleased with the trajectory that the RX produced off of all clubs. Higher with the driver, mid-to higher flight with long and mid irons, and a bit lower with the wedges. It was quite windy yesterday, 10-20 steady with gusts higher. So it was a bit difficult to judge how well the ball was doing for distance. But it certainly didn’t seem to be detrimental. I hit some drives for very good distances and others that were impacted heavily by the wind - but no different than any other ball would have been. I would call iron performance very good to excellent, even though I didn’t hit too many greens - windy, remember? One thing I did notice is that iron shots into the wind held their line very well. Backspin off the irons was excellent. Remember, this is the RX not the RXS. I hit a downhill (50 feet downhill) 8-iron from 176 with a slightly helping cross wind, dead on the flag, that finished about 25 feet short. Immediately behind its ball mark. And the greens were not spongy by any definition. I believe the ZStar would have released a few feet. I hit several iron shots that stopped very nicely. I was happy with the ball in that regard. Where this ball really and pleasantly surprised me was in the short game. I hit several really good wedges into greens, and the control on pitches and chips was terrific. Lots of partial shot spin. And in putting the ball felt great. Soft feel (quiet at impact). Easy to control for distance - not like the Wilson TourX I tested, which I felt was hot off the putter. All said, I shot an adjusted 84 with 3 lost balls. Pleased with that with so little play and no practice over the last couple of months. I look forward to more rounds with this ball and will report as they occur. Thanks again for the testing opp, and thanks for reading this long post. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
