You could probably ask him. He talked a little about why he says not to worry about larger patterns. Basically, and someone can correct me if I am wrong, but he would say use the normal dispersion he recommends. The reasoning is that if you use the wider pattern and move it around you could put yourself if a spot that will create more issues. You ultimately will hit into those hazards on occasion as you shots can land anywhere in you pattern. That said, you could go through his tee shot selection flow chart and adjust for your pattern.

    My thought is this:

I love DECADE, and I subscribe to Scott's thoughts on not worrying about larger patterns (my driver dispersion is not great, but not horrible). BUT, if your driver dispersion is 100-120 yards wide, then my recommendation is to spend $ on lessons, not on DECADE. That's not to say there isn't valuable content for you! But DECADE is not the answer to your problems.

That putting drill he outlined seems like its utterly and absolutely brutal but it's definitely one that should improve speed control.

Which one did he reference? The quarters drill?

I started this thread and realized how poor of a job I did updating it. I'll blame the fact that I have ADHD and was diagnosed in the middle of the 6 month journey 🙂

I didn't continue after the six months with DECADE, mainly because it was the "offseason" and I didn't want to pay for it. Thinking about getting back into it as I hope to play some competitive golf this season and the yardage books alone might be worth it for these courses I won't be able to play in advance! 🙂

  3. Hey all!

Wanting to buy an armlock but not looking to break the bank. I also have a KBS TD driver shaft (stiff) that I would ideally like to trade or have as part of the deal (if the putter is more expensive).

I need at least a 40” (would try as long as a 43”) and I prefer a mallet but not tied to that style.

    Whatcha got?

One of the premises of the LAB putter is being fit to your specific putter length and lie angle requirements. The MGS tests are on OTR putters. MGS most wanted only tests OTR, and I believe a single version, for example a 34" XYZ putter. @cnosil - correct me if i am wrong on the testing.

So if you give everyone a 34" 70 degree LAB putter, it may work very poorly for ppl who that putter does not fit, if you believe in the lie angle balance concept.

This is my recollection as well. I believe this was discussed last year possibly even as well?

I would have jumped on this if it’s a 70g. I think a heavier shaft helps me stay stabilized

I actually used to think the same thing myself, then I got fit into a 60g mainly b/c it increased my swing speed as a result of dropping those 10g. Trackman (outdoor) difference was over 5 yards with that being the only thing that changed. Same dispersion.

  7. Just to be clear, the CAT 4 is the X flex. CAT 3 is the Stiff. I only know this b/c I JUST ORDERED (literally 2 days ago) a new CAT 4 b/c I was in a CAT 3 and now need the stiffer shaft. Wish I had seen this!

@Martin Gutiérrez de Mesaif you're looking to trade, I have a CAT 3 with a Ping G410 tip that I'm looking to sell, but I'd trade for this one if you'd like. Can always use two of these in case I break one!

I haven’t swung the x flex but the smoke rdx black 6.0 isn’t anywhere near as boardy as the smoke black or the original hazdus black. Was quite surprised how good it felt and yet not giving up any stability

I felt the same. It is the smoke rdx black. Yes. Got out today for a second session and was working on a couple things (including clearing my hips earlier) and even though I was hitting into a stiff cross breeze, it was still flying. Really impressed two sessions in.
