  1. To be fair, I think the wanting it sooner was part of the reason I said sure lets do it as well. Also I know that feeling about not having a box. It seems the price UPS store charges for a box and packing is twice the shipping amount. I'm sure that's where they make most of their profits. Just like the concession stand in a theater. They aren't getting to keep that $12 for a ticket like 90% of it goes to the studio.
  2. Sure go ahead, blame me. I'm not the one that said I would drive from Central PA to Cemtral Maryland to do the trade to "save us both shipping costs" LOL
  3. HA. One of the first signs we knew my mom has dementia was my sister and I were visiting and noticed she had all these odd things around the house we've never seen before, comerative coins, a White House replica, a new toaster oven. Etc. She claimed she had no idea where they came from. My sister started lookijg At her credit card bills. Evey item had been bought via a info mercial all at like 2:00 am. Lol It's kinda funny now (and then as well honestly) but it was our first sign she could no longer live on her own. I'm sure that's not your case though. You simply have A lingering case of ho'domitis lol
  4. Well Said! I recall a thread on some forum, I honestly can't remember if it was here or THP, one of the two, that encouraged those who may not be low single digits to post there scores and not be ashamed of it. it would be nice to resurrect that, or heck maybe I'll start it, if I can't find it. In a way it was kind of like a trainer who says "Don't be afraid to ask a "dumb" question, chances are there are many out there who have the same question but are afraid to ask it" While my event was a competition and there were nice prizes given out in both net and gross, to me it was a great chance to spend 13 hours with 3 good friends, enjoying the game and the spirit of competition.
  5. Me Too!! Hopefully I'll be on my game and you can see my 320 yard drives and I'll...
  6. You know, there may have been a time in the past where I wouldn't want to post my scores for public knowledge. But sine then, I've learned a long time ago, there's a lot better golfers than me in the world, and there are a lot worse than me out there. In this day and age of the internet, you can talk a big game if you want, scratch player, and 300 yard drives and such. But what if you get invited out to play with a group that reads the same forum you do, and they are expecting to see that type game. Your true game and true character will become pretty obvious, pretty quickly. A simple I'm having an off day, won't cut it when you can barely hit it 220 yards and shooting in the 90's as opposed to even par. So I make no bones about it or as some say, there's no shame in my game I'm not going to say I'm a "Hopeless Hack" and of course I'd love to be a single digit cap, but at a 18 index, I shot right around my cap. Matter of fact one of my playing partners yesterday was a 2 index who I have known but never played with before. He told me I played much better than what he was expecting based on hearing me talk about my game and saying I was a 20 HC. Remember we are only expected to shoot your handicap 1 out of every 5 rounds, it's a measure of your potential, not your average score. Yeah, it was a great event, one that those of us who play in it, usually refer to it as the Best Day of Golf All Year.
  7. Foz..So sorry to hear about your friend. I'm sure the mood of the trip may be a bit more somber in the beginning, but I'm also sure you all will take time to remember him and think back on the fun times over the years, and hopefully that will ease the mood a bit. The quote the old adage "he'd want you to play on and hed' be upset if he knew you guys were not having a good time" WE had that discussion recently during a round about the passing of friends and would you play on and such.
  8. As I have talked about in the What Did You Practice thread the past week, I had a 54 hole stroke play tournament yesterday at Musket Ridge Golf Course here in Maryland. Three rounds went by in the blink of an eye...if 12.15 minutes can be called the the blink of an eye...ha Really though it was a blast, I have played in the tournament for going on 12 plus years, but missed the past two due to my Knee Replacement Surgery in 15, and a new job last year. I was happy with the way I played, sure in 54 holes, you're going to have a few putts you cringe on missing, a few drives that could have been better and some less than perfect ion shots. But overall I hit the ball solid all day. And on this course most importantly stayed out of trouble. This is a course that can be known for eating golf balls due to the high heather grass that lines most most fairways. I played the first 30 holes with one ball, and finished all 54 with one sleeve, considering I have probably lost one sleeve of balls in one hole there before, that's quite remarkable...ha I shot 97, 96 and 93. I blame the 97 on the 6:00 AM start..LOL!! I can't wait to try and put these scores in the Handicap system, I'm sure it will give me a message that "you are entering 3 scores on the same day..Are you sure this is correct!!"
  9. Well done my friend, that's one hell of a birdie!
  10. Went to the range tonight where I'll be playing in a Solstice Survival tomorrow. 54 holes. Had the range and putting green to myself. Very cool. Couple pics. The iron is the z565, glad to see the work is paying off with solid contact. Sent from my LG-D850 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  11. I Went to a local course today(not mine) and hit two buckets. I rarely ever finish one. But I wanted to get a real good feel for every club in the bag before my 54 hole tournamenf on Monday. With the irons, the driver and a FW all being added within the past week, I wanted to get comfortable. Then spent a lot of time on wedge distances. Feel really good aboitvthe session. Didmt spend any time on putting. That may come tomorrow evening
  12. Two pair of FootJoy Leo Joy no show socks. The kentwool ones I have keep slipping to much. So I'll try these. Sent from my LG-D850 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  13. Thanks it'll be a blast. Oh yeah they feed us breakfast, lunch and a big feast afterward. Along with unlimited beverages all day lomg. Have to stay hydrated. Actually I start that process on Sunday. Drinking plenty of water and not eating anything to heavy. Yeah the puppies will be feeling it on Tuesday, as will the legs, the back, the shoulders...and so on. Ha He has watched me hit mine up close and personal for a year now. I think he's convinced it's as good as advertised.
  14. Oh Lord. Do I need to stand by the phone. Don't tell me you decided Top Flite Gamers are better feeling than PRoV's
  15. First you say that the 765's didn't impress you. Now you say this. I'm sorry but we can no longer be friends. And you need to go see a Dr. about your lack of "feelings"
  16. Belated Like!! I must have been skimming when I was reading that on my phone....Very timely...ha
  17. You're so going to love that club, I can think of several holes already at CP where that'll be great off the tee for you, and of course great for your 2nd into par 5's. Yes, I did. It's an annual tournament that myself and MDGolfHacker have played in for the last 10 years or so. 54 holes, individual stroke play, play the ball down, hole everything out...real golf. Balls in the air at 6:00 AM last putt holed around 7:30 PM. It's literally the best day of golf every year. Only thing that sucks this year is he has another outing on the same day, so he can't play with us, and he is playing another date this year. The local magazine that runs this, has four dates and four courses each year for this, and they sell out all four dates. It's a long A$$ day, but you are having so much fun and into the competition you don't really pay attention to being tired.
  18. And these will go with the jacket nicely. For all my Buckeye Friends, as a former Ohio'ian
  19. Well I bought a rain insurance policy. Scheduled to play 54 holes on Monday and they are calling for 70% chance of rain. And my rain gear needed updating, so this will arrive tomorrow. So by buying this, I pretty much am guaranteeing it won't rain on Monday. To the rest of the field, You are welcome!!
  20. Ah. Gotcha. A clever take off of the book title!!
  21. Ah...thanks for that on Shipnuck, I like his writing but hadn't heard of his podcast. Is a Good Walk Spoiled actually done by Feinstein, or did someone steal his title..ha I know he's not everyone's taste, but I've gotten to know him a bit and enjoy his stories, probably just as much as he enjoys telling them...ha
  22. They are so sweet...I don't know how you can hold off two years....you're a better man than me..LOL Oh, and I think you have the models mixed up the 765 are the players CB and the 565 are the more forgiving. Either that or you will have one very interesting and different combo set..ha
  23. That's a great idea Plaid. I'd be happy to sport a Golf Tournament Sales Badge
  24. Yeah same here, I need to find more to listen to. The No Laying Up with Rory was very good. I'll have to search for the Fore Play one above. I also listen to a bit of Srius XM Golf Station when on a long drive.
