  1. Oh I posted it elsewhere here, it's the Rossie White Hot 35"
  2. Yeah, the PING Tyne 4 with it's insert was my go to for almost two years.
  3. Date 11/08/2023 Course Name Compass Pointe NE Gross Score 95 Course Handicap 17 Gross Strokes over/under par 23 Net Score to Par 6 Net Score 78 Net Birdies or better 2 Longest Drive 234 A pretty decent putting day saved me from heading onto triple digits as my driving and iron play were both sub par. But a beautiful upper 60’s day in the 2nd week of November can’t complain about a round with a light 1/4 zip. went back to the Scotty After a couple month testing of the EVNROLL EV11 —review on that coming soon
  4. During my 30 minutes or so wfh then on the putting green. I tried everything from 3 footers to 90 footers and I between. Almost sank a 60 footer. But the distance control on the long ones once I got used to fbd insert face were very good.
  5. To me it actually does feel more forgiving. I'm sure Odyssey says they are equal. But maybe it's a psychological thing with the softer feel feeling more forgiving. I would definitely encourage you to try them out if you can.
  6. The stars have aligned for me this week. Outings are done for the year and we have had temps in the 60’s and 70’s. So I played 18 on Tuesday and took the Rapsodo MLM2 to the range today. After warming up with a small bucket I did the Combine which is 24 shots totwo specific distances. Mine were 135 and 190 yards. You get scored on how close you hit your shots to those distances both from a distance and a lateral dispersion. I didn’t do to well. I rated as a 28 handicap from the 135 (7 iron) and 17 from the 195 (driver) Clearly I need to work on my iron game more. Tomorrow is supposed to be raining and cold. So seems like a good day to break out the Ex Putt and the EVNROLL
  7. Just finished reading all the reviews. Great job by everyone As a member of rhe Beta Test team in the spring. I’m so glad to see everyone enjoying it and it working so well. Feedback From all the Beta testers and the hard work by the developer teams a lot of changes have been implemented since the first version. It’s truly one of the best products on the market in the sub $1000 market.
  8. Ah ok, just making sure..ha I have since found found the full report of the Combine. Lots of good info there. Surprisingly my driver score was higher like 46 and my 7 iron was lower like 31 But that definitely is consistent with my on course play, as I usually hit a good percentage of fairways usually around 65 to 70%. But my GIR struggles around 22%. So iron play is definitely where I need to improve.
  9. Yeah, maybe it's a case of I didn't know what I was "missing" as I've used a Milled putter for the last two years at least. Then to feel the softness of the insert was so different that I just took to it.
  10. Yeah, can't wait to start it. Might skip the sleeper of a game on TNF tonight and start it.
  11. With YellowStone now being postponed until November 2024, need to find something new to watch each week. Will probably go with the Lincoln Lawyer to start.
  12. Got to demo pretty much the full line this week with the rep. I definitely liked the White Hot insert better than the Milled. The Milled was a firm hard feeling much like my Scotty Cameron, which I don't hate. But just fell in love wit the insert feel which I had on one of the original White Hots way back in the day. Was torn between the Rosisie and #7 which are my two favorite styles. Decided on the Rossie as it's close to the SC 1.5 Flowback that I've been playng most of the year.
  13. Awesome!! Thanks very much. And I should have been more clear in my sarcastic comment. I was in no way blaming the unit, I was saying I was that bad I should give up I thought my score of 38.9 was horribly low. I had no idea what to expect. This was my first combine with it. I know I definitely overshot my driver distance by about 10 yards, the 7 iron was pretty spot on. My shots are still synching so I can't tell if I scored high on the 7 iron and low on driver, or if it just gives one overall score. I guess you have to have a few sessions in before it will give recommended distances, I just randomly hit 7 iron and driver. Perhaps I should have done P and 7 or 8 iron to be more representative of my approach game. I have primarily used it on the range only for club carry distances and consistency. but wanted to branch out and start using the combine. It was pretty fun.
  14. Question for any of the testers that have done the Combine. What is considered a good score, and what is considered a score that I should send the unit back to Rapsodo, and start playing croquet
  15. Well, say you pay the $200 a year for 4 years after the first year. You will have had it for 5 years for about the price of the Current Mevo+ By then with the way technology is, there will have been several products that come out that most who are interested in these will have moved onto or upgraded. Where as the MEVO+ you would have paid that $1700 upfront and maybe moved on to something after 2 or 3 years. So in that regard you are better off even paying the annual fee. Just my thoughts. There are setting on the IPAD where you can get up to 4 stats I believe? I isually don't review it until afterwards,
  16. It's ok to get a bit wet, but don't take a bath with it If it gets dark the radar could have trouble picking up some shots but for the most part it should be fine.
  17. Mine's been working great since the latest update. Going to take it out on the range today, for a combine and try to update the bag later or tomorrow.
  18. The only vetting process is no Richards allowed. And I don't mean actually guys named Richard, just guys that "act like" a Richard if you get my gist. The only other thing will be as I may have eluded to is that deposits will be needed right away to secure a spot. I love all the excitement and discussion on here about last years event and more so on next years! Which we are hoping and planning to be even better if not bigger.
  19. You were able to play golf with a torn ACL? You should get some sort of medal or something. I don't know a lot about the ACL, but if I tear a finger nail, I can barely play Good Luck with the surgery
  20. Yep, as Hayes said, we both came up with that one seperately when we compliled out lists, but as he mentioned we feel it is too expensive for what we want to bring to the members. We're not opening taking suggestions, but we're certainly not closed minded to possibly finding a hidden gem. I'll take a look at it. Thanks Yeah, count this in with Sand Valley and Big Cedar Lodge that Hayes mentioned we checked out, as well as Firestone Country Club. Big Name destination resorts are definitely under high demand right now and are able to get top dollar. Last year when I did the survey of what people wanted out of the outings, Being able to meet new Spies and spend time with one s they have already met in a fun relaxed atmosphere was by far the top choice, over playing a Big Name course. I would definitely like to do a Sand Valley or Big Cedar Lodge etc one year and perhaps something like that may turn up as a 2nd outing one year once the interests in these really start to pick up.
  21. So I posted this in the Good Morning thread in response to a question there. But wanted to move it here to continue the discussion or open it to any questions. I;ll be happy to answer anything that I do know for certain at this point even thought no final location has been locked in. AS of 11/7/2023 Plans for the 2024 outing are still being made, I along with the help of @Getoffmylawn have been doing a lot of information gathering to find the best combinations of venue, location and price for next year. One thing to slightly correct what Easy Putter said, the past two outings were not just Regional Outings, they are open to every forum member regardless of where they live. It just happened that they were both East Coast. Research for 2024 has literally encompassed coast to coast locations. We hope to have something to announce in the next couple weeks at the latest. But I will drop a few helpful thoughts for people to start thinking/planning. While we don't limit the size of the group we typically start with a estimated size of 16 to 20. I think we had 12 in Maryland and 16 in North Carolina. So initial spots may fill up fast, if so we will reach out to the course to add more spots. It'll likely to be a 3 day, 3 round deal, arriving on a Thursday departing on Sunday, with 18 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. An option to play 36 on any of those days will be up to the individuals at the time. Feedback from the last group was 36 was a lot for some in the group, and took away from the opportunity to enjoy casual down time hanging out with the group. While a date is not confirmed yet, you might start looking at your calendars for late May. Once announced deposits will be needed right away in order to confirm your spot. A variety of proposals have come in, and they range from around $600 per person to $1800 per person, to include all golf and lodging. Rest easy, the $1800 will not be selected. So look for something right in the middle of those two as the likely package. Lodging will likely be cottage or villa style. Villas that sleep 4 or cottages/house that may accommodate 8 to 12. There may be a mix of single rooms and some with double rooms--separate beds of course, but we don't judge As I said more to come soon, but that should give some information for those interest to start thinking about it. Tagging the other Mods so they can keep up to date @GolfSpy BOS @GolfSpy_APH @GolfSpy SAM @GolfSpy_BNG @Ben Joest @Jnoble89 @Lacassem
  22. LOL!! What do you think spurred my comment
  23. Yep, just to add on what @EasyPutter @cksurfdude and @GolfSpy_APH mentioned. 24. Man you hit the trifecta with those 3 courses. I'm over in the BWi/Annapolis area, if you ever are able to travel up this way let me know and I'll have you out to my course Compass Pointe @golfinnut just came out last week and @MDGolfHacker plays here weekly with me. Also keep any eye out for our MGS outing in spring/summer 2024. No date or location has been firmed up yet, but we have had two pretty good ones the past couple years with a group about the size of yours.
  25. New Odyssey Ai-ONE and Ai-ONE Milled Putters Announced Today Odyssey Golf, the #1 Putter on Tour, announced new Odyssey Ai-One and Ai-One Milled Putters. We’ve leveraged Callaway’s industry Artificial Intelligence Design and super-computing capabilities to create the most advanced insert in golf for more consistent ball speeds, even on off-center hits. Below you will find our press center pages for both new putters, which include images, one-sheets, releases, key details, and more. Ai-One By applying these A.I. enhancements to our inserts, we’re delivering consistent ball speed across the face. Our multi-material construction includes unique contours on the back of the face that minimize ball speed losses on off-center hits, and greatly increase the sweet spot. With Ai-One, putts finish 21% closer to the hole on average than a typical non-inserted putter. To achieve this unmatched level of performance, we made the back of the insert out of aluminum and added a White Hot Urethane to the striking surface for the iconic White Hot feel that millions of golfers love. These enhancements provide incredible feel, speed control, and consistency. Ai-One is already gaining attention on Tour and performing on golf’s biggest stages. Jon Rahm used an Ai One Rossie model to go undefeated in the Ryder Cup while putting on a tremendous putting display, earning 3 points for the victorious European Team. Sam Burns gamed an Ai One Seven model for the U.S. Team at the Ryder Cup, and he made the switch to Ai-One in the very first week that he tried it at the Tour Championship. Ai-One Milled These premium putters feature a 100% Milled stainless steel body fit with a 100% Milled titanium insert. The multi-material construction includes unique contours on the back of the face that minimize ball speed losses on off-center hits, and greatly increase the sweet spot.
