  1. This isn't from today. But from the villa we stayed in last week at Reunion Resort in Orlando. This is the 13th green on the Watson course. Literally a 50 yard wedge shot from out patio. We had some down time and sat out enjoying watching groups come through and betting if they would hit the green or make putts.
  2. Taking just a moment to say a Random Howdy!! I haven't had any MGS time the past few weeks, and it's killing me. But the good news of that is I've been extremely busy and productive at work...(even picked my self up a nice little award this week at our Annual Conference when I was surprised to be announced as the SalesPerson of the Year. Being it was my first year with BCG I was extremely proud and pleased considering the quality of people we have working for the company. Hopefully I'll have some more time in the coming weeks, after March Madness is over a well, which keeps me busy. But wanted to say a quick hello, and boy I'm missing out on a lot of great topics and discussion... Love the new look of the site as well!! Appreciate it Kenny. 3. I'm thinking the email from corporate asking for my specs will arrive any day...LOL

  5. Well said OG. Its why I contributed from the start and will continue to do so. The amount of quality info and testing that Tony, X and Sam put out there is unmatched and greatly appreciated. Sent from my LG-D850 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  6. So I got out in the 73 degree February weather yesterday for 5 holes. All I'll say is I had 5 one putts!! Granted the longest was only 6 feet. But the ER5 just lined up perfectly and put a good roll on the ball. Sent from my LG-D850 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  7. Possibly also a school that is looking for a golf coach
  8. I'm sure Ole Gray could come up with a better analogy for me, but I'm so far behind, I can't even see my own Arse!! Great week at the PGA Show last week, but it comes during one of my busiest times of the year. So I've been buried at work since returning. But had to just take a short break to drop in and see what's going on, and to say Hello!! Hopefully I'll get caught up here before I go back down to Florida in two weeks.
  9. I had to laugh seeing these back to back, wondering if you guys were sitting in offices down the hall from each other...LOL
  10. Glad to have you here. I felt the same way when I first found the site and did the same. Sent from my LG-D850 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  11. Missed this thread when I joined last summer. I made a career change about 14 months ago. Currently I am Tournament and Outing Director for a 36 hole golf course in Maryland. I absolutely love what I do and it has allowed me a lot of great opportunities in the golf industry in a very short time. Prior I had been with Hilton Hotels for 21 years and Holiday Inn for 5 years prior to that. The final 12 years as a General Manager and a Director of Sales before that. It's been the best move I could have ever made and only wish I had done it 15 years ago when I had the opportunity. Sent from my LG-D850 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  12. Holly Hell...That is impressive, looks like an engineer with way too much time on his hands...LOL

  14. I did a few very unofficial CG2 Bag survey's during some of our larger outings this past year. I was kinda surprised to see how many older sets were in play, I'm talking oder meaning 5 years or more, in some cases 15 or 20 years....No i don't think Big Stu played in any of our outings --most were name brands but usually the big 4 PING, Titleist, Callaway and Taylormade. I was speciically looking for Bridgestone, Srixon and Wilson (for another specific reason) and found nary a set. Did see a few Mizuno's and several Cobra's (mostly the older Cobra, but a few of the later ones.
  15. Ok, I just got off the phone with Mr. Rife. So take everything I said in the above post and throw it in the thrash, or whatever you please. I told you my memory was fuzzy. LOL But in my defense, I wasn't completely wrong. So in short all the putters we recieved for the fourm testing were Counter Balanced, or as he prefers to call it back weighted. He spent some time explaining to me where the counter balancing first originated, and it was for the players who were using such long putters that the weight needed to be added into the butt end of the shaft to bring the SW back to something resembling a D7, without it they were approaching E5 or more. But my ER5 for example has a head weight of 355 which is heavier than the normal 340 head. So this extra weight in the head is great for allowing control on short putts, but when you get to a longer putt it would play havoc with the feel of your stroke for such a long putt. So he has back-weighted it with a 30g weight in the butt end. As for length he mentioned you are adding 8 SW's for each inch. So in the example he gave a 355 head with a 34" shaft will come in at D7 but go to a 35" and it becomes an E8, thus thus the weight added. But he mentioned they (meaning EVNROLL) will machine the head to accomplish the back weighting as he refers to it, which again is just bringing the SW back to the desired level of D7. After the conversation, I felt I learned a bit more than I knew beforehand, but it also left me realzing how little I know about putters and club weights in general. He also asked how the testing was going for me and was very pleased to hear my results, I told him about the 60 footer I rolled in on my first attempt with the ER5, he laughed and said "end of testing" right...LOL One caveat I will say we talked about the sound of the ER5 that has been discussed in the reviews. He mentioned two very well known European Tour players, both have played on recent Ryder Cup teams (I won't mention the names as I'm not sure he or they wanted it mentioned publicly) that loved the ER5 but hated the sound, and said they just couldn't use it due to that. He said it has been corrected in the 2017 model. I"m very much looking forward to seeing and hearing that in Orlando in a couple weeks. Again the sound was not a distraction or turnoff to me, but he realizes it is to some, and wanted to remove that element from the putter.
  16. Ok, I'm going to have to go on my memory (which could be hazardous..ha) but I don't believe mine or actually any of the putters that came stock are counterbalanced. i seem to recall Mr. Rife mentioning that is only done in longer length shafts such as 38" and also if I recall correctly, he's not a huge fan of it. Kind of goes back to his statement of preferring the shortest shaft you can comfortably putt with, to avoid the extra length, weight and the distance it moves. If I'm mistaken about any of the EVENROll's being counterbalanced, I certainly hope someone that took better notes or has a better memory will chime in and correct me. As for my previous putter, it is a Scotty Cameron X7M and it is not counterbalanced either as far as I'm aware. edit: Please read the post below this, before raking me over the goals....ha
  17. Does Jackson, MS even have Salt trucks. I'm not being a smart a$$. I wonder if it's something they ever have to plan for.
  18. Even though I haven't posted anything of note in well over a month or two there, I did peak in yesterday after seeing these posts from you. It was the typical homerism bias speil coming from the ususal suspects. I started to say something, then realized my Dr. told me to try and avoid things that make my blood pressure rise...so i got out as quick as I got in. I just hope MGS Staff doesn't lock my account for actually daring to read other view points
  19. Congrats Foz!! I'm off tomorrow as well. Problem is I have to come back in on Thursday and Friday, and Monday and....well you get the point Enjoy your retirement!!
  20. Good eyes Rev. Actually that was intentional, and the picture posted at a different angle than I thought I had taken it. And shame on me for not addressing the reason in the review, It got so long at one point, I skipped several notes I had written down. But looking back at my notes from the call with Guerrin Rife, if I wrote it down correctly, the reason for the 3 dots was to help in your alignment when you purposely want to strike the ball a bit out towards the toe, to take a bit off the putt, such as a slick down hill putt. It was taught to me years ago that will help take some of the speed off fast down hill putt. I believe he must have had that in mind as well with those dots. If one of the the other testers spent anytime in talking to him about that dot and the thought behind it, maybe they will chime in.
  21. Kinda the same but a bit opposite of you. When I signed up, I went the monthly donation amount as it came out to a bit more than I would in a one time donation. But after seeing the Blog piece on the Most Wanted, I went ahead a made a larger one time donation as well. It's easy to support a place that does things the right way and that you truly believe in.
  22. That's easy enough to remember. Ha Sent from my LG-D850 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  23. I was thinking for a couple reasons it would be nice to know everyone's names for both Twitter and Instagram if they want to share. 1) A lot of the MGS Staff post on both and when replies are made It'd be nice to know if its someone from here that I might recognize. 2) So many contests ask you to tag a friend or two. I'd certainly like to share some of these great prize opportunities with the great members here. I have both SM accounts kinda tied to the CAA Basketball conference that I cover, so Carolina Golfer 2 wouldn't really make sense there. Ha I've changed my IG slightly the last week or so.
