  1. Sometimes in a fitting you just find something that works even if you don’t have the most repeatable swing. A good fitter can tell within a few swings whether a particular club is meshing with your swing or not. Maybe you find something that feels great and that leads to better swings and more confidence. You should leave a fitting with a sense of comfort and confidence. If you’re leaving with doubts, you’re always going to have that nagging feeling in the back of your mind. When I was fitting, I always said that you can’t quantify confidence, but if that club looks good and feels good as you stand over it, you’re already in a better place. 3. Nice find here! I would have expected it to sit lower in the net for chipping though. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  4. Has anyone tried to attach the chipping net? Is there a specific way that it’s supposed to go on? I didn’t notice any instructions on that in the box. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  5. So I got into school today and get my setup all ready to go. I was able to hit some wedges, 8 irons and a couple of drivers. Luckily no shanks yet [emoji6] I’ll agree with the others that the net is pretty easy to get up and running. Took 5 to 10 minutes and most of that was being extra careful about no poking a hole in the roofing when feeding the pole through. Collection area worked like a charm and gathered everything. http:// Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  10. Hello Fellow Spies! I can’t thank the MODs enough for choosing me to be tester and for all of the great discussion in the thread over the past few months! Background: This is my 2nd opportunity to do a MGS review. I had the privilege to the do the Motore X review last year (Motore X Review), so I’m still new at this and any feedback is always appreciated! I’m a high school teacher and boys and girls golf coach at Franklin High School in Michigan. Go Pats! I’m about a 5 handicap who needs to get out and play more (but don’t we all?), but with 2 kids and coaching, my own practice time is limited. I thought I would get to play/practice more being out with the high schoolers, but it never seems to work out. I’m working on getting my 8 and 5 year old into the game as well, with some decent success! I worked at a top 100 golf shop for 6 years (yes while still teaching; those were some lean years) and now I work some demo days as a tech rep for Wilson (if you couldn’t tell by the all the clubs in my signature). I harbored grandiose visions of my players coming down after school and pounding balls into the net for a few hours a couple of days a week. I thought that I might even have to create a sign-up sheet with specific hitting times because they couldn’t get enough practice time. Needless to say with some shifts between live schooling and virtual schooling throughout the year, these visions remained pipe dreams. First Impressions The first thing I noticed about the box was the heft. It came in a wide, but thin box, so I was expecting the net to be pretty light. On the contrary, it felt like there was some quality to it. The carry bag is a nice touch that I plan on using a lot more once the boys season starts because we don’t have a range at our home course or many of the league courses. My only complaint was that there were no clear directions on how to attach the chipping net. But @Sirchunkalot came through with a nice clip on that front! Quality of Components I was hoping to have a lot more shots on the net as I mentioned earlier, but this net held up to everything I threw at it. I can get it moving on occasion (I can top out at around 120) and the net and mat had no problems. I had multiple kids shank some full speed drivers directly onto the side poles and, while the net understandably collapsed, they went right back into place and the net was working again in seconds. During my early sessions, I made the mistake of hitting some 60-degree wedges and found out, the hard way, that the roof attachment is both effective and durable. I’ll be honest that I never had to find out how durable the side netting was. I feel that if you’re a decent to good ball striker, which I can be at times, you won’t need to worry about the side netting at all. 9/10 Ease of Use Once I got this thing up, I really haven’t had to take it down. It’s up and it stays up for the most part. I think that it will start to travel more in the next few weeks. I think that I’m the only one who was using this on carpet, but there’s actually Velcro underneath the mat that helps it stay stable and in the same place! That was a nice little unexpected bonus. I think that the target is a nice touch. While you can’t see ball flight, you can use the target to check to see if you hit it in the same spot or, if you’re fancy, if it’s launching in the correct “window”. 10/10 Basic Characteristics The ball return system is top notch. I have the net right in front of the wall and I was fully expecting the net to give a little too much with the driver and for the ball to come back at me a little hot. It never happened once. Whether it was the driver, long irons, short irons or wedges, the net gathered the shot and it came back nicely to the bottom. There’s a nice lip there to make sure that the balls all gather and don’t run back into your feet while hitting. Driver Swings The white stripe on the bottom doesn’t do much for me. I think that I could use it as an alignment, but I’d rather make sure that my mat is in the correct spot to give me all 3.5’ to each side in case I miss a few. I didn’t really use the chipping net as much as I wanted to. It’s tough to do in room with a lower ceiling from any distance. I’m hoping this gets more use outside at team practices. Also, I would have liked to see the chipping net have a couple of holding sections. The very center will catch and hold balls, but a chip an inch or two outside of center just runs to the bottom of the mat like a shot that missed the chipping net all together. 16/20 On course performance I’m not sure exactly what to put here. I definitely saw my ball striking in a couple of simulator rounds go up, but I did start to develop a little over the top motion, but I attribute that to the Superspeed Golf I was trying. I’ve noticed some struggles with the shorter irons my only two times out this year, but I’ve been hitting the mid and long irons really well. I think the short iron struggles are more from hitting off mats for months instead of grass and I certainly can’t fault the hitting net for that. 28/30 Miscellaneous Nothing extra really to add here. It looks sharp and compact, so it ticks all the boxes in those departments as well as the performance ones. 10/10 Keep it or trade it? Not a chance! I’m hoping as school gets back to normal next year that this net becomes all that I hoped it could be. I don’t know of many high school teams in my area that have a nice, designated indoor hitting area and I hope the kids realize how good they have it! Not to mention a buddy just gave me boxes of old balls to use in there! 20/20 Conclusion This net was highly rated by MGS and I can see why. There really isn’t anything else that I would want this net to do. If you’ve got some space and want to get some work in, I can’t recommend this net enough! Final Score: 93/100 IMG_1504.MOV
  11. Rick shiels mentioned the same thing on the putters with the blue finish. Sounds like a MyGolfSpy test for the Mizuno finishes. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  12. Most local shops have a guy. On Facebook I see a guy doing refinishing and grinding and the results look amazing. His name is Ken Flanigan. https://www.flaniganbiltputters.com/ Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  13. By far my biggest concern (besides the price) would be getting the wrong lie and being unable to bend it. I tried a few in the shop before and never gave them a chance, but you might be forcing me into giving one a serious look based on your results. Thanks for the review! 14. I’ve been a huge fan of the tour 360 shoes with boost. I own 3 pairs and love them. The wide for Adidas is not very wide so it might be worth a shot. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  15. I tried the putt out mirror, but I found that I couldn't see anything. Everything was blurry, so I sent it back. Did you experience any of that?
  16. It’s probably worth looking at. You can go a custom color scheme for whatever you want for a little bit more dough. If it performs, it always looks better :) Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  17. Golfetail has 20% off right now. They have the Swing Caddie SC300 which is normally $500 for $399.20.
  18. With a 7 iron speed in the 90s, is there a reason that your fitter didn’t go extra stiff? Did he discuss that option with you? Just curious, because consistent 90+ swings with a 7 usually equates to something pretty stiff. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. I saw the other New Level wedge you posted and I was wondering what you thought was the biggest difference was between the soft stepped X100 and the 610 125 shaft? I've been curious to try both of these setups at some point and was wondering what your thoughts were. Thanks!
  20. God those are tempting! It was between these and the first Callaway Apex Pros. The Apex Pros only won because of price. I could put a blanket over the shots with a 7 iron. Good luck!
  21. If you never used it on the course, what did you use it for mostly? How accurate did you find it?
  22. I like the idea! I might have to try that as well! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  23. Luckily one of my daughter’s friend’s mom speaks Japanese and she could figure it out for me! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  24. That’s strange to me, but oh well. Don’t spend too much time working on it. You learn something new everyday. I go -1 on my Wilson to open the face up (so flattening the lie as well) and lessen the left miss. Seems like the Honma would go counterintuitive for me. I still think the hosel markings on the Srixon drivers are the most confusing ones on the market. If you look at the outside of the hosel it’s easy (N, +1, -1 and up), but looking at the tip inside the head drives me crazy. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  25. That doesn’t surprise me too much. In theory every degree is supposed to add/subtract ≈2.5 yards. So if your used to playing a 54 and 58, it makes total sense as to why you were coming up shorts. Also, I’ve found the K Sig balls to be very spinny off of iron and wedge shots. Combine new grooves and a spinny ball and that could account for the distance loss as well. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
