I'm waiting on my ST190 to arrive. I'm hoping it gets here for the weekend.

The Launchers for me provide great gapping from the 4 thru the PW. I always struggled with consistency with whatever 4 I was playing and a 5 iron. I always felt I had to be inside 150 to have a chance to hit a green. With the Launchers I feel I have a chance from about 180 in. That being said I found the D wedge to be short for me and I dumped it for a 48 CBX wedge and it has been much better. I haven’t played the Steelheads but I think your friends are correct when saying the Launchers are as longer or longer than anything out there. My first time out with the Launchers I shot a 95, second time out a 77. Hang in there and trust them, they will deliver. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

I ran into the guy yesterday, he flagged me down when I was headed to #10 and he just finished 18. He apologized, said he had just hit a bad shot and seeing me waiting in the fairway set him off for some reason. He asked me to join him as part of his Saturday morning group. Maybe not the right thread but I’ll ask anyway. Why do you play the X version of the golf balls you mention? Reason I ask is I usually play softer balls like Duo Pro, Q Star Tour, etc.... The Mizuno Rep told me to never play a ball with an X on the end after watching me hit some balls. I played today and was stinking up the joint when I found a Pro V1X. Played it the last 5 holes and it was the longest and straightest of anything I played today. Might try the X version of these so thanks for the heads up. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

Haha, I know right! Seriously though my home course is 6500 yards and I hit my 5 iron around 165. I shot a 75 there last year which was the round of my life. 6200 yards is about my sweet spot for length. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

We didn’t group up because we started at different times and never got close enough to even speak to one another. And I can play in a hair over 2 hours walking when nobody is in front of me at that course. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

We had nice weather yesterday here in RI yesterday so I headed out to play 18 at my club. It isn’t officially open so you just show up and go. There were 3 singles in a row with me being the last. Pace of play was fine and the second of the 3 singles dropped out after 9. On the back 9 I quickly catch the single in front of me but no big deal as he was fairly quick. I did find myself waiting on a lot of shots even after taking a few extra putts on my last hole, maybe hitting 2 off the tee and basically farting around. I get to 16 and tee off right away. I get to my tee shot and the guy in front of me is in the right rough looking for his ball about 150 yards in front of me and waves me thru. I hit and while passing him he says, “I’m out here to have a nice relaxing day and you have been up my ass”. It really caught me off guard but I said “I’m just trying to keep pace”. He told me that I was trying to rush him and play my round in under 3 hours like it was a race. I told him I was playing at my normal pace when in fact I slowed it way down to stay back. I never hit into the guy, never made gestures like speed it up dude and frankly never considered what I was doing to be an issue. Is there some unwritten rule that a single playing behind a single should stay way back? There was nobody behind us so I guess I could have hung back but again, did I do something wrong I’m not aware of? Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

Mizuno GT190 driver with Tensei Blue stiff shaft, 10.5 degrees dialed down to 9.5 and minus 1/2 inch. The added weight in this club is a much better fit for me than the lightweight XXIO, well today it was anyway. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

I knew you'd tell me to buy it. Quick question. Two of my clubs have Cobra Connect installed in the grips. Do you know if I could make it work or would I need to re-grip the Cobras?

Take the family with you. I do and they hit balls on the range, mini golf or hit the batting cages. If that fails tell them it is work related research since you are a forum moderator. If that fails they do it every year.

Just show up. No appointment needed. I went a couple years ago and it was fun. It is about the only time I've ever been able to hit whatever club I wanted with whatever shaft I wanted which to me makes it worth the visit.
