  1. I know the Cobra Connect Challenge has gotten a lot of attention and rightfully so but don't forget about the Cleveland testing going on. A couple of us are lighting these clubs up. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  2. Bethpage Black without a doubt. Played from the whites and I was even par thru 3 and think I ended up shooting around 110. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  3. One more vote for Joyzee10. Great video! Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  4. Try staying up all night tonight. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  5. Don't punch the baby....you'll be having putting contests with that baby before you know it. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  6. I'm that guy. High of 101 and low of 79 this year on the same course. Went to a GD top 100 fitter last year for a full iron fitting. Was fit to Mizuno Hot Metals and after about 20 rounds with them index went up from 13.5 to 15.5. Went and bought used JPX 900 Forged after about 10 swings with way more shaft than I could handle and index returned quickly to 13.5. Bought F8 one lengths this year off the rack and handicap dropped another stroke. Not saying fitting doesn't matter but my experience really soured me on the whole thing. 7. I think the Cobra F8s are really good too but they do try to accommodate the masses. I found the varying lie angles and offsets didn't allow me to truly find one ball position for each club. I did have all the lie angles adjusted to match and that helped a ton and they are a blast to play. When I took them to be adjusted the same place Stroker was fit they didn't understand the lie angles and different offsets. They dialed me in on the Edel 6 and it was night and day in terms of distance and dispersion. So while Cobra is a great option I agree with PMookie, the Edels are better. 8. I'll send you the phone and a connected club if you want to try before you buy. Beware though you will buy once you use it. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  9. For my Arccos I purchased an iPhone SE for $100 on eBay as a dedicated device just for the data. No SIM card so no cell service. I would download any course I was going to play at home over WiFi before I played. Get to the course and click the downloaded course and go. I had no accuracy issues and other than missed shots the setup works great. When I got home I could go to my laptop and the data from my round was there waiting for me. The only function I lost using this setup was live wind direction updates since I had no cell service. IMO if you are an Android user and don't mind spending the $100 get an iPhone SE without cell service. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  10. Thanks, last question. In all the testing you have done is there one club you hit and said to yourself you've got to have it? If so what? Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  11. @cnosil: what is your favorite category of clubs to test? Driver, GI, SGI, etc... Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  12. I'm curious if I will come home equipped with ole grayisms? Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  13. Sorry for the rude welcome you received. Don't let that be a reflection of the kind of people and responses you will usually get. Welcome to the site and we are glad to have you here. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  14. I'm sure we all have areas of expertise in our work or whatever. For me my area of expertise is not golf. 99% of the crap I ask I'm sure is basic 101 stuff to a lot of people on here and 99% of the responses I get are people I believe are genuinely trying to help. It's that 1% that keeps me from asking more questions. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  15. I'm looking forward to it ole gray and yes it will be a blast. Since we are both rocking Launcher HB irons if any fellow MGS members are out there that day we'd love to place some wagers. If not just let us play through while you're looking for your ball. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  16. I was in Orlando and did the PGA Superstore driver fitting so take that for what it is. Either way I ended up buying a 45.25” driver after the fitting. I had to have it shipped to RI and I wanted them to take an inch off so it would play at 44.25”. They did the work and I took it straight to the course and pulled the crap out of it all day. Went to a club guy and he added I think 12 grams of hot melt to the head and straightened my drives right away. So in my experience 1” off made a huge difference. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  17. The lowest my index has even been is 9.8. I did that playing Adams a3os SGI clubs. They were big ugly hybrid irons. When I realized I was a single digit golfer I moved to GI irons for no other reason than I thought it was time to move on. Since moving on my index has hovered between around 12.5 and 15.5 with numerous sets of GI irons. Enter Launcher HB SGI and I am trending right back to where I was with the Adams. I guess the point is maybe there never is a right time to move down in forgiveness for some of us that just want the best scores with the swing they have. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  18. Have you hit the lob or sand wedges yet? You think the GW goes high wait until you get ahold of one of these. It really is weird but for full shots they are great. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  19. Haha, always blame your wife in these situations is my strategy. She should not have buried in her phone. My strategy rarely works. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  20. I think that is probably wise advice.....thank you! Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  21. My 13 year old is wrapping up his junior golf this week and is having a blast and wants to continue playing. He has been using loaner clubs for the program but we will need to get him some clubs. I've enjoyed my time with my F8 Ones but wanted opinions on whether or not it is a good idea to start a kid with them? Is it too risky? Anyone else try it? Thanks! Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  22. This is exactly what I experienced in regards to gapping. I love the “short” irons but 5 and 6 are a bit of an issue. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  23. They kind of already do. You can buy individual one length irons and individual variable length irons to make up any set you want with the F8's. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  24. I practiced over the winter putting on my bedroom carpet by looking at the hole. When I made it to a practice green it took about an hour to get used to putting on something other than my carpet. I took it straight to the course. I still mishit my fair share of putts but they still seem to find their way close to the hole. It's weird really. For big breakers I look at the ball. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
