  1. I stumbled across this chart of male handicap averages. It is 5 years old but I've got to think it is still fairly accurate. I'm curious if the members of this forum follow this chart, are lower in handicap, higher? Maybe STUDque can figure out how to do a poll. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  2. I believe the recommendation is to cut the screw portion of the sensor off and tape the sensor on with something like electrical tape. Just make sure you don't cover the actual sensor. Option 2 would be to add putts manually but you must have a synced putter sensor to allow for that option. So sync the sensor then leave it at home. Option 2 may not be the best option for the official testing but it does identify a compatibility issue with some putters. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  3. I was fit for an ST 180 hitting against a screen. Ended up with Tensei Blue shaft set at 11.5 degrees. Took it to Florida to actually play outside and hated it. Won a Cobra F8 while in Florida and was fit at a range by the Cobra rep set at 8.5 degrees with the stock shaft and loved it. For the hell of it I adjusted the Mizuno down to 9.5 degrees and it has been a game changer. Straight as an arrow when the Cobra was a slight fade and picked up about 10 yards on the F8. Also I am getting this extra yardage playing on wet slow fairways in 40 degree weather and Florida was 70s and dry. Everything at sea level. Hit this thing if you get a chance but also get it fit properly. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  4. Nice, enjoy! It is certainly fun to play around with and look at the data. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  5. Sucked me in too but they have lowered prices on all JPX 900 sets. I think $200 on the tour and forged and $100 on hot metals. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  6. Haha, you aren't being anal but it is better that he answers with a more thorough response. I think Arccos is great and it is best you have all your questions answered before investing in a new phone or whatever solution suites your needs. I found this works for me and is hassle free. If the weather ever cooperates in New England I will spend more time with the app and utilize it to its fullest. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  7. You will receive an extra sensor for your putter, it is solid black, the normal ones are green. If the sensor does not register a putt there is a +/- button to add or subtract putts. It misses a lot of putts in my case but does well picking up chips, bump and runs and sand shots. When you use a hybrid for example to bump and run it will automatically add it as a chip and not a full shot so it won't impact your total club average yardage. Lastly, you must have a putter connected to use the +/- option to add putts. If you do not it assumes 2 putts most of the time. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  8. Yep, I'm going to stand down and let the official reviews take it from here but will continue to gladly answer questions. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

  10. I've only played about 6 rounds with the F8 Ones so I can't really give a long term review but I traded my Mizunos in over the weekend as I prefer the F8s. I generally play low compression golf balls so it is hard to compare feel since these marshmallows make all clubs feel nice. I can say the Mizunos gave better feedback on mishits and punished you a little more. I feel the Mizunos had better distance dispersion but I played a lot more rounds with them and I am just adjusting to the new clubs. Biggest thing for me was I was losing 4 or 5 shots a round hitting it fat or thin. After a bit of adjustment it just doesn't happen anymore and I have hit more balls right at the flag then I did all last summer in my short time with these. My iron play has always killed me. I have kept stats on the Grint app for 5 years and averaged about 4 GIR and I am up to 6 GIR this year. It will definitely go up once I get a better handle on distances of each clubs because again, these clubs are really straight for me. The biggest adjustment has been trusting the club to do its job and just put the same swing on every shot with the same ball position. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  11. I have the 3 and 4 hybrids with my F8 One length Irons and love them. A little longer than what I had and a million times straighter. I highly recommend these clubs even if you use variable length Irons they are that good. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  12. Exactly, if it doesn't start picking up putts I'll be scratch in a month. I do play with it in my front pocket but have not tried the back, I'd love to try it but it's snowing here now. Arrcos is great but it takes a little effort to maintain accurate data in terms of missed shots. It has confirmed i suck at golf, it has confirmed I'm a club shorter than I thought....what's not to love? Seriously between arrcos and the new F8 Ones my handicap has adjusted down this year when it usually goes up 2 strokes. Arrcos really helped me dial in yardage quickly and it's fun to review the data. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  13. I could put it on silent but I'd still see missed calls, texts, etc... while playing and I just want to be left alone while playing. My experience has been good with Arccos. I find it to be accurate but it misses a lot of putts. I played Saturday and it missed so many putts Arccos sent me an unsolicited email giving me tips on how to use it. The email basically said I had to get set before each putt so the one footers you tap in as you walk by are a no no. Also after maybe 6 rounds it has my handicap at like 3 when I am a 13 because of missed shots. I know I can edit the rounds but I don't. I am able to still get the data that interests me Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  14. Yes, once you get to WiFi it uploads the data to the Arccos dashboard. You can still edit shots on the course and whatever else you need to do. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  15. Hopefully this helps you guys. I have and use Arccos and I hate having my phone in my pocket since it vibrates with calls and emails all day. To solve the problem I purchased a refurbished iPhone SE, the smallest they make, on eBay for around $100. Got it and it looks brand new. Anyway, I ordered it with no carrier. IE no phone service. Went to Best Buy and told them what it was for and they gave me a SIM card for free and installed it. You will need this to proceed in the phone setup. Once setup is done connect to WiFi, download the Arcoss app and any courses you want to play and you are done. Get to the course, hit search and press the downloaded course and play and you are done. No phone calls, no emails and the phone is really small. There is a drawback however, you cannot use the caddie feature for wind updates. It needs current data for that and without an internet connection which you most likely can't get on the course. At this point I don't even know the phone is there, don't care if it gets banged around and GPS still works and all data is tracked. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  16. Congratulations to each of you. I can not recommend the F8 Single lengths enough so choose wisely. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

  18. I wanted to add for Arccos I purchased a refurbished iPhone SE on eBay for $90. It came with no phone service or SIM card. I went to Best Buy and they ended up giving me a SIM card and installing it. I use that for my rounds without worrying about the phone buzzing throughout the round or draining my battery. This works great in that is the smallest phone that can be used with the system that I am aware. You just connect to WiFi to download any courses before you play and you are done. iPods won't work because you need GPS service. Without this option I probably wouldn't even use the system because I'd end up answering calls or emails the entire round and I don't want to be that guy. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  19. Thanks for the feedback. I am giving the wedges a go but I told my buddy right away that if I see myself changing anything it would be the gap, sand and lob wedges. As I said great on full shots for me and straight as an arrow but anything less than full swings was a struggle. But frankly I always struggle with my wedges on the Bermuda grass at his club. 20. I hope they aren't a fad since I think they would benefit a lot of people but also know they aren't for everyone. I traded in F7 2 hybrid for the F8 2 hybrid. I'm not in front of them but I think the F7 was set to 16.5 and the F8 is fixed at 16 degrees. Stock shafts in both. For me the F8 is straighter and a hair longer with a higher ball flight. Personally if you can get the F7 for less money there isn't enough difference to justify the newer model. The 3H and 4H are single length at 19 and 22 degrees. These have been much better than any hybrids I have used because they just go so damn straight. You can see I don't crush the ball so straight is good for me. I carry the clubs I do because I play from the tees I should which usually means even on long par 4s I'm at worst around 200 out. If reaching par 5s in 2 were in my future I may look at switching things up. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  21. I think it is a player by player thing. I played 30 years with variable length and when I switched to single length 5 rounds ago it was pretty easy to make the switch. I'm a 13 handicap that doesn't really practice and I don't try to work the ball. Just try it hit it straight. Now I just set up the same way and fire away. The only clubs I have that aren't 37.5 inches long are driver, 2h and putter and no issues so far transitioning back to any of them. I do have to choke way down for short chips but using SW and LW on full swings had been much better. I used to thin a lot of shots. Arccos does most of the work for you but it will miss a shot now and then especially putts. My gaps look bad but I am confident they are better than my variable length clubs. My results are on course so I may have been clubbing up, down, who knows but if I had a flat shot with minimal wind I was very confident what club to use up to 200 yards out. 22. You've pretty much already named my bag that I purchased a month ago. Good luck to you and I'm happy to see you'd go the one length route. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
